3.9Should be listed as a sour/wild ale. Clean cucumber with a sour punch. Super crushable. Like a cucumber sparkling water meets sour beer. Wife has had this a few times and liked it I finally snagged one from her.
3.1Can. Pale golden beer with a thin whitish head. Cucumber and tart aroma. Vegetal flavor with light sourness. Medium bodied. Vegetal notes and light sourness linger.
0.6Upon opening it smelled like buswiser with a hint of sweetness. It suds like a cheap beer. The taste is horrible. I did not taste any cucumbers. I love cucumbers. My friend didn't taste any either. I did not finish the first beer. It tastes and feels like a gross cheap light beer with a hint of sweet. I am so dissapointed I wasted money on this trash.
3.912 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 11/27/2018. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of juicy cucumber, tart lemon, lime, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, bread, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, cucumber, moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of juicy cucumber, tart lemon, lime, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, bread, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, and light fruit/wheat tang on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy cucumber, tart lemon, lime, pear, red/green apple, melon, white wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, bread, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, cucumber, moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness balance, and no puckering flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic, and lightly tangy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a delicious flavored Berliner weisse! All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, cucumber, moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish, not overly lactic. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great balance of cucumber flavoring and Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
3.0Draught @ 10 Barrel Brewery, San Diego. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of wheat, light fruity, cucumbers. Flavor is light sours, wheat, fruity, light pickled cucumbers. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation, sweet and light acidic finish. 300718
1.9Can sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks Stas. Hazy yellow, white head. Lacto, cucumber, pickles, melon. I hate cucumber.
3.4At a tasting, many thanks, small bubbly head, light hazy yellow color, aroma of brine , cucumber and lemon, flavor of cucumber, yoghurt and a medium lemony sourness. Nice.
3.212oz can. Poured a hazy yellow color with an averaged sized head. Some cucumber, citrus and a lighter tart finish.
3.1Light sour cucumber aroma with light bready malt.
Pours a light hazy gold with little to no white head.
Bready tart flavor with light cucumber.
Light bodied, medium co2, quick finish. Refreshing.
Enjoyable light tart beer.
2.7At Tom's Place, pours yellow with a small head, aroma of cucumber, lemon, pickles, flavor of cucumber, lemon, yogurt, melon, medium bodied
3.512 ounce can. Medium gold color. Frothy beige head disapates quickly. Sour malt aroma has a hint of cucumber. Sweet and sour malt flavor upfront. Light cucumber as well. Tart and refreshing. Light bodied with a soft cuke finish.
2.5Very slight cucumber smell decent...taste is good...lightly sweet...cucumber flavor that is also light...mellow...enjoying it more with time...smooth...had at warmouth with duke...talking about turning 35 :(
3.3Can. It poured a cloudy golden color with a white head. The aroma was of cucumbers, citrus and grains. The taste was similar to the aroma with more cucumbers, citrus, grains and medium carbonation with a nice puckery aftertaste. Not bad.
3.412 ounce can. Pours a cloudy pale gold with an average white head. Aroma of cucumber and citrus. Taste is cucumber, citrus, grass, and grain. Ok if you enjoy cucumbers.
3.3Not much aroma, but lots of cucumber flavor---even if artificial. Not enough sour or salt to be a Berliner Weisse.
3.4A steady pour produces a one-finger thick, quickly disappearing, white head that sits on top of a clear, straw-golden colored beer. The aroma has that sort of grassy, green cucumber note to it and this is backed by a lactic twang. If you really dig for it, you can get a nutty, sun-baked straw note and a touch of pale grain cracker aromatics.
Fizzy with a medium carbonation the body is on the light side, but has a lactic viscosity to it. Up front it is carbonic acid, lactic acidity and then a green, grassy, cucumber note that only gets more pronounced through to the long, lingering finish. Perhaps a hint of cracker like pale malt is noticeable here.
This is definitely dominated by the cucumber notes all around. Simplistic and refreshing, for some reason I actually like these cucumber flavored beers so this is enjoyable on a hot Summer's day.
3.8Initially had written this off, but it's actually really nice. Very light texture and mouthfeel. Very sessionable. Taste of cucumber is very subtle but present, that combined with the tart qualities is really pleasant.
3.7Can. Nice lemon sour aroma and flavor with a pleasant cucumber presence. Very refreshing.
3.1Can from a Binny's mix a six. Clear golden with just a little off white foam. Dough and cucumber in the nose. Flavor is tart, doughy, and cucumber. Soft malts. Ok.
3.8Wheat backbone with a pronounced cucumber flavor. Moderate sourness. Refreshing.
3.2Pours clear yellow with a thick and fairly persistent snowy head. Aroma presents zesty raw malt and sweet cucumber. Sweet cucumber! I enjoy cucumbers but have never encountered a sweet one. Flavor offers up fresh, crisp cucumber and sweet raw malt. OK, that's whence comes the sweet character. Mouthfeel features OK body and fair fizz. Get cute with cuke.
2.9Can from Appalachian Vintner. Smells ok, like cucumber as one would expect. Taste is...off, somehow. Tart, and citric, but the cucumber flavor is pretty faint.
3.7Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Juicy cucumber sweetness, fresh lemony acidity, and a nice bright tart finish. Good stuff; very drinkable.
3.3Can, courtesy of DerA. Pours unclear pale yellow. Aroma is dill, cucumber, coriander, herbs. Body is medium, with a lively carbonation, slightly salty, again herbal and vegetable, otherwise rather low on flavours. some lactose. Dryish palate. A bit thin. Okay.
3.3Can. Hazy pale golden color with white head. Aroma is cucumber, lactic, dough, yoghurt. Taste is artificial cucumber bonbon, dough, lactic, dill finish. Decent, but a bit artificial in flavour.
3.7It pours a pale hazy yellow with a small instantly fading white head. The aroma is vegetables with a jolly rancher like sweet candy aroma. It tastes pretty good. Sour flavors with lots of cucumber. Very refreshing & a cool idea.
3.9Can pours a clear very light golden color with a big fluffy white head that fades leaving no lace on glass. Lots of bubbles, looks like champagne. Aromas of grass, melon and vegetables. Tastes of cucumber, melon, jolly ranchers and a bit of salt. Light body, highly carbonated, spritzer/ seltzer bubbly mouthfeel and a tart finish. This beer is highly unusual yet very intriguing. The combo of wheat/cucumber with the sourness works well together. What a refreshing, tasty beer! This will make a great thirst quencher on a hot summer day!
Awesome!
3.4Pours clear yellow with very little white head. Aroma has distinct cucumber watermelon character. Flavor is mostly tart with some underlying melon.
3.4Light straw color with a light cloudy base. Aromas fake cucumber but still pleasant light hay. Flavors fake cucumber yet pleasant with a little straw and grass. Lightly sour with a light grainy aftertaste. Its a unique beer that can appeal to many different beer drinkers! The idea of a sour cucumber beer is a good one! Its not because it has complexity but the cucumber sells with the sour!
3.312floz can, marked 10.17.2017 (don't know if COD or BBD), $1.75 unit cost, pint glass. It smells like cucumber, so it passes that test. Appears gold with clarity and a small amount of head. Tastes like a cucumber flavored shock tart candy. The body is light, but sense of gritty sandiness is noticeable as a by product of the sourness. I imagine summer is the optimum season to drink this beer. During other seasons it's just alright.
