18th Street Deal With the Devil Pale Ale

18th Street Deal With the Devil Pale Ale

Brewed as a salute to our brothers at Spiteful Brewing, Deal With the Devil is a beer that comes with a price: our souls. After securing a box of foolproof, sought after hops, we came up with a juicy pale ale that’s low in bitterness and huge in tropical flavors. This beer is unfiltered. Sediment may form.

3.5 Lots of melon and honeydew in aroma and taste. Light yellow and cloudy. Light palate. Can.

4.0 Tap at cbc 16, copenhagen. Dark golden color, white head. Aroma has fruits, hops, tropical fruits. Smooth and hoppy taste, some malts, peachy flavors. Very nice.
3.7 Can from WineTree East. Pours a clear copper color with a finger of foam that lingers. Big peach, apricot and grapefruit nose. Caramel, pine and citrus on the palate. Clean, crisp and good bitterness. Reminiscent of 3Floyds. Nice aggressive IPA.
4.1 Tasted from a pint can. It poured a hazy amber hue with a small off white head, leaving streaky lacing. Delicious peachy aroma with hints of pine. Fruity, dank hops and sweet caramel taste with a bitter finish. This double pale ale will be a hit with double IPA fans. 🎼I found the simple life ain't so simple, when I jumped out, on that road. I got no love, no love you'd call real. Ain't got nobody, waitin' at home. Runnin' with the devil. God damn it lady, you know I ain't lying to ya. I wanna tell you one time. Runnin' with the devil. Yes I am. Yeah!🎶
3.6 16oz "Perry" can from Rays in Tosa. Hazy dark orange tan pour with a beige head leaving spotty lacing. Citrus and pine, thick & tangy fruits, sweet toffee malts. Resinous and chewy. Lots of late dry hopping leave a rawness. Very overlayered nose. Taste smoother than nose, very thick and chewy. More than medium bodied, with some alcohol presence, the blend is solid. Finishes to the bitter side of bittersweet. Solid, very hoppy effort. 13.7
4.1 Fat på Savoy. Doftar klassiskt blommigt apelsin Dipa doften du vet. I munnen smakar fan precis som doften. Blommig som attans . Medelfyllig . Lagom kolsyrad. Viol och tulpaner och rosor smakar den. God

3.8 They call this a pale ale but it borders on an IPA. Super hoppy and piney flavored. Aroma is grassy and piney. Slightly boozy finsih. Not bad
3.9 Bottled. Pours dark Amber with thick white had. The palate is juicy and dry and wet. The taste is hops. Citrus hops. Grapefruit, little blueberry. Dry and piny finish. Wellbalanced
2.9 Bottle 22oz. Pours deep caramel with medium off-white head. Aroma is of resin, fruits, soap. Taste is of bitterness, caramel, alcohol. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Soft carbonation. Overall: Problematic recipe / brewing yield.
4.1 A 22 fl oz bomber with no best by or bottled on date. Poured into a Duvel tulip glass. It poured a hazy deep amber orange colour with a one finger cream coloured head with decent retention and nice spotty lacing. Aromas are strong citrus notes with orange and grapefruit rind combined with lots of pine and caramel sweetness. Tastes of orange, approaching candy orange, with a good amount of grapefruit zest, pine and caramel sweetness. Just over medium bodied with moderate carbonation. For some reason, I had it in my head that this was going to be like pseudoSue or Zombie Dust, but this was completely different and not in a bad way. Deal With The Devil was still a great pale ale with a good balance between citrus fruit and malt.
3.9 Sample @ CBC’16, Copenhagen. Red session. Light hazy dark golden pour with frothy head. Notes of pine sap, stone fruits, grape skin and some light mangoes.
3.1 Pours a clear golden with a medium offwhite head that leaves some lacing. Nose is really boozy but there is stil some good tropical fruits in there. Taste is strangely sweet and caramel-like with more fruits and alcohol. Moderately bitter. Damn that alcohol and that out of place burnt caramel. Body is sticky and syrupy. Way too boozy. Meh.
3.2 bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks bro! pours unclear dark orange with a small creamy off-white cap, reviving and leaving nice lacing. doughy meaty mangoes, borderline over-ripened; buttery caramel, stenchy berries, sweet pine gum, clean yeast. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; semi-sweet spicy-piney finish. boozy, piney and buttery. o-k.
2.9 Bottle (22 oz). Shared by mathieuc, thanks! Clear bright golden-orange with a small white head, good retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is of caramel, butter, garbage notes, mild spiciness, herbal hops and hints of citrus. Taste is slightly sweet with caramel, garbage, moderate spiciness, citrus and mild bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Caramel-ish finish. Lingering garbagy presence. Weak DIPA.
4.0 On tap at CBC 2016 - day 2. Nicely balanced IPA, with notes of caramel, orange zest, pine resin and tropical fruit.
3.1 CBC16, red session, tap. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma medium+ hoppy (tropical fruit), medium malty (caramel, bread). Flavor medium sweet, medium+ bitter, fruity, ending to sweet. Medium+ body.
3.0 fresh bottle. pours amber with off white head. big citra aroma, plenty of green onion to make it unpleasant. flavor is very sweet and brash, oniony, tropical, sweet caramel. full bodied. reminds me of an old school double ipa but with new hops. not sure why this gets rated well, i guess it’s because it’s a big beer with citra hops? meh.
2.5 This stuff is barely okay. Kind of a too sweet dank IIPA. *yawn* It’s a bit syrupy, earthy and tough to drink. I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone cares about this brewery.
