Whether you have a long mission behind you or a full afternoon ahead, this session IPA will help keep things real. More relaxed than an IPA, but with all the hop aroma and flavor. Down to Earth is our Tribute to unsung heroes and unplanned adventures.
Down to Earth is the natural evolution (pun intended) of Bitter American, our original session ale. We thought it would be fitting to bring our space chimp home and let him chill. Down to Earth is available year-round in six-pack cans and on draft and pairs nicely with a variety of things, including lunch.

3.5Can. From Joel. Honey color. Aroma is tropical mango. Medium light bitter. Average carbonation. Nice mango apricot notes. Easy to drink. Not overly bitter.
3.6Golden color. Nice, white head. Pine and grass in aroma . Hop forward taste with strong bitterness and light sweetness on background.
3.0Basic Session IPA, big on up-front aggressive hop flavor, bitter seltzer water on the back end. Malts give up mild grain notes and a toasted underside, while the hops conjure up quick flashes of grapefruit and pine before disappearing into a bland, yeast-tinged fade. Pours a slightly hazed gold with a thin rim of white and modest lace. Aroma's the best part, a nice mix of dank, citrus, and pine notes. Texture's nice and perky, as well. But otherwise, just another dull IPA Lite.
3.7DATE: November 3, 2017... OCCASION: Cavs/Wizards--will the Cavs lose five in a row?... GLASSWARE: Stoudts pint... an instant barrage of white bubbles cling around the glass's base, while its half-finger head bogs down quickly to a smear... the body is opaquely dark orange, almost like a dirty mango... first waft is intense mango and peach--for a session, quite prolific... light malts make for a suggestion of balance... light flowery hops as well... the sip is smooth, reasonably chewy, and easy drinking... lively, too, and bubbly... not aggressive at the teeth, but the lingering aftertaste is welcome... lemon, mango, bright peach and a bit of pine makes this a pretty righteous ale... could drink a lot more of these, but as it came courtesy of a break pack mix, one will have to suffice... a twelve or eighteen pack would do nicely!
3.5Can. Pours golden orange with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, and grass. Flavor of pine, citrus, grapefruit, bread and tangerine.
3.7hop aroma and flavor of an IPA, definitely lighter, but not by much. solid session
3.9Pine grapefruit nose, nice. Medium head, fades in a couple of minutes. Nice hoppy flavor, not overly bitter. Palate finishes citrus, fresh. Enjoyable IPA.
3.7Can. Hazy golden color with an off white head. Aroma and taste of citrus hops. tropical fruit. Tastes more bitter than your run-of-the-mill session IPA.
3.5Can pours clear copper with a lazy white head. Aroma is nice, caramel, citrus - orange, grapefruit, pine. Flavor i has a touch of sweetness, good medium bitterness, some citrus rind notes. Medium light body, pretty drinkable. Good
3.8A tinge of chewy hops a bit of fruit with a clean finish. Nice session IPA.
3.5Can from beer republic. Hazy orange color. Thin white head. Medium thin body. Medium bitterness. Aroma and flavour is tangerine, hops, basil, pine, resin.
3.3Cloudy gold, bubbly.
Medium full body, flavorful, low heat, high carbonation, somewhat abrasive mouthfeel, average length.
Bitter, dry.
Hoppy, more of the bittering type, yeasty.
Surprisingly hoppy for a session beer.
3.4Citrus hops, pale malts. Light but hoppy bitterness, flavourful. Watery body but okay for the abv. Nice enough, expected a touch more. (33cl can at Caroline’s in Berkeley)
4.7A lot of aroma and hop sabor, classic of an IPA. Sweet aroma. Refreshing. Recommended
3.6Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a slight golden color with a decent transparency about it. Some carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Some messy lace.
The aroma had some melon, light pine and some citrus hop bitterness, not much, but it’s there.
The flavor blended the prior mentioned aromas together sweetly to grace a tender bitterness rolling about. Aftertaste wasn’t much and the finish seemed somewhat sprtizy.
The feel was obviously light bodied with the intended crushability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt as intended by the brewer.
Overall, pretty nice session IPA that I could go at again, probably be nice by my grill.
3.2Opened up a can from a 15 pack variety. Poured into a tasting glass (6oz). Light hop nose; not much to smell. Head vanished quickly and no lacing. Clear and golden; looks good. The taste is surprising for a session at 4.4%; not as much as Stone’s Go To, but may be even or better than Founders All Day. A worthy pick on a sale 15 pack for $15! Cheers.
3.3Hazy orange color with off-white head. Aroma is dank and grassy, not very intense. Taste is slightly grainy with a light hop bitterness. Some grapefruit notes on the aftertaste. Light body and carbonation. Easy drinking but a bit watery.
3.3355ml Dose. Dunkelgolden mit leichter Trübung und kleiner Schaumkrone. Fruchtige Citrusaromen. Ordentlicher Körper. Feinherb im Antrunk mit mildem Abgang.
3.7Can. Nose hoppy, resinous, caramel. Pour clear and rich golden with just a hint of orange highlight, head is dense and sudsy off-white. Taste bone-dry with medium-strong bitterness, very crisp, lean and clean medium body feels a bit fuller with the big-bubbled carbonation. Orange and a dash of spice, wood -- soled all-around without specific extremity. Lightly oily, resin backed off, good warming hoppiness, thick and satisfying for such moderate gravity, but likely quite repeatable. Love it, a real strong personality. [2017.02.22: 3.7]
3.4From tap at the brewpub. Light unclear golden color with off white head. Light malty and hoppy aroma, grass, pine, citrusy fruity, bread. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
3.0At Metropolitan. Amber thin white head. Resiny pine aroma. Pine bite and dry. Thinner palate. Too cold to enjoy fully.
3.2Easy to drink, very smooth beer, bitterness is floral, citrus and subtle. Package Down to Earth in 30 packs, price it right and I have a new ’house’ beer.
3.4No strong aroma. Piney with some ripe apple and a very slight overripe fruit off flavor. Medium light body, nice understated bitterness, but no noble hop flavor. Slightly watery in a way appropriate for a session pint. ABV is a little high for this type of beer, should be around 3.6%. Nevertheless, a very drinkable pub bitter.
3.4Sampled on draught in Las Vegas. A clear, amber with a thin white head. Tropical fruit (melon and tangerine) and pine in the taste. Not too bitter or astringent. Light and refreshing and not too strong. Highly drinkable!
2.9Good Flowery IPA smell...Medium mild...Taste is straight IPA...Nothing new or unique... Medium light boldness...Stereotypical IPA...At flying saucer for trivia
3.4(Tap) clear, bright golden amber colour with a small white head; aroma of tropical fruit; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish
3.412 oz. can. Enjoy by 01/13/17. Pours a medium thick, well retained, tiny bubbled, ivory head, with hints of lacing, over a hazy amber (SRM 7) body.....nose is pine, resin, melon, tangerine all from the hops, light malts, balance to the hops......taste is pine, resin, slight allium, grass, light bread, cracker tones from the malts, finishing with moderate bitterness, balance to the hops.....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. This is a fairly typical Session IPA, with hops dominating the very slight malt contribution. BJCP 7/3/13/4/6
3.412 oz can near BB date stamped on bottom.
Pours light amber in color with very slight haze. The white head has good retention and leaves decent lacing.
Fruity-herbal aroma is quite hoppy.
Flavor: fruity-floral-herbal hops dominate. Hints of lemon peel and mango. Subtle toasty malts. Nice mildly bitter finish with plenty of hops.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with medium carbonation.
Overall: a session IPA that drinks like a good West Coast style IPA excepting the thinner body.
3.6Nice pine blast in the aroma, pours a clear golden with a thin white head. Light bodied (as expected), and a bit thin in mouthfeel. However, there’s a nice clean bitterness that really comes out in the finish. Giving a nice blast of hop presence. Overall, a nice little session beer.
3.9can - nice deep amber color. Great aroma of citrus and hops. Nice flavor of hops and grapefruit. And another cool can!
