The name is a tribute to the hop shortage a few years ago. An imperial IPA aged on oak spirals using Columbus, Centennial and cascades as the bittering hops and dry hopping with Simcoe, Ahtanum, Amarillo, and Cascades.

4.0Pours hazy orange gold with a big white head. Leggy. Aroma is sweet dank citrus - orange floral. Taste is big orange sweet into a perfect grapefruit-pine hoppy bitter bite. Very warming. Bitter linger. Wondrous.
4.0Hazy golden yellow with medium white head. Aroma of fresh grass and hay, flowers, touch of grapefruit. Medium body with creamy mouthfeel and slight alcohol. Flavor is mostly bitter, citrus and pine, malt is noticeable, good balance, dry crisp finish. Excellent.
3.9Hazy golden color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, floral hops, tropical fruit, & citrus; Flavor of sweet malt, caramel, pine hops, tropical fruit, and citrus; Warm finish & slight bitter; Nicely balanced; Very good.
3.7Can from Parker Pie, 9.7%, served in an IPA glass it gives off an intensely jammy waft of stone fruits. Getting in for a closer whiff I get some boozy sharp heat, lots of malt caramel sweetness and hints of pine.
Full bodied and quite a lusciously smooth mouthfeel. The taste is sharp peppery pine, jammy sweet stone fruit and a semi-dry herbal finish with some warmth radiating outwards from your stomach. Quite a good double IPA though I didn’t get anything from the oak spirals.
4.2Aromas are very subtle but considering little amount of hops is used wasn’t too bad. Cloudy copper with white head. Amazing taste. Cotton candy, orange, bitter peel. Finished with a good alcohol bite. Fine example of what you can do with limited resources. Very well balanced and crafted.
Cheers.
3.9Can. Golden pour. Aroma has lots of hops, caramel, citrus, pineapple and peach. Bitter taste of citrus hops, pineapple, peach, mild caramel and a really bitter finish. Great hop bomb.
3.5On tap at Gnarly Barley. Sweet pineapple and strawberry and overripe orange aroma with apricot notes. Slightly hazy copper under a lacy white, thin sheet. Flavour is salty with hops that are a blend of old and new world; apricot, pineapple, pine, strawberry, grapefruit. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth and a little warming.
4.1Light orange in color with a white lasting foam. Aroma is melon and tropical fruit. Mango, guava, and dragon fruit flavors with a significant bitterness in the finish.
4.5liked it even more the 2nd time around. A nice solid IPA. The flavor is hoppy with a quite bitter finish. A little too astringent for my wife, but I found it enjoyable.
4.2can @ House of 1000 Beers / New Kensington PA --- $5.25 for this can - I expect Nirvana. Aroma of herbal and citruas hops + light malt. Clear medium / light amber color, frothy white head that stays at three-fingers, globs and bands of lace. Taste is a perfect half and half between caramel malt and an assortment of hops, primarily citrus. Medium carbonation completes the deal. It seems like a strong malty brew, but then it switches to a hoppy brew - each swallow seems to contradict the other,...and yes,... the alcohol is mysteriously hidden, so care must be given. Complex, balanced, not heavy at all, a superb brew.
3.6Impressive brew. No distinctive aroma that i could catch. Deep amber orange...almost what I would call a pumpkin color. Tall white head laces nicely. Smooth flavor with enough sweetness to conceal any bitter with just a hint of dryness at the end.
3.8This beerison tap emporio. Clear golden color. No head but some lacing. Medicinal and alcoholic but not tto sweet despite abv. Lingering licorice notes.
3.5Can. Pale gold in color poured with a nice white head and minimal lacing. The aroma is floral, grapefruit, pine and some light caramel. It is moderately bitter.
4.2On tap. Pours amber with fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and caramel malt. Body is full and slightly crisp. Enormous amount of citrusy hops is balanced on the palate with caramel malt and tropical fruit. Finish is long, dry, and very hoppy. Excellent brew.
3.9Milano's, Dayton, draft. Kicked. My. Ass. Very strong. Mediciney. High alcohol taste. Good, I guess, but whipped me.
4.7Awesome beer, very long length, with malty and hoppy notes. Lots of flavours working in balance.

3.7[355ml can, Tasty Beverage Company, Asheville] Pours a totally opaque golden orange colour, with a decent half-inch head that fades to a thin lacing with a central island of bubbles. On the nose, peachy stone fruit from the hops. Tastewise, there’s a big lick of pineapple at first, before alcohol warmth and a chewy sweetness - this is probably a fairly old can and therefore verging into barley wine territory, the hops have faded somewhat. But it’s not the worse for it at all [02122016]
3.6[Can (12oz)] Pours a clear gold with an average size long-lasting frothy white head. Minimal lacing. Sweet and hoppy aroma along with wood, honey, some alcohol, a good amount of fruit and a light vegetal note. Flavour is also sweet and hoppy along with fruit, alcohol and bready malt. Medium bodied. Not as good as expected but pretty good.
3.7Can. Pale clear yellow pour with a thin head. Aroma is hugely fruity, citrus and tropical fruit. Flavour is very juicy and fresh. Delicious.

4.2Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home after a somewhat rough work Friday, happy that’s done for the week! This is a pretty damn good one here. Appearance is a lightly cloudy gold with a prominent and billowy white head. Aroma of oak, caramel malt, smells hoppy. Taste is nice, definitely potent, very much barley-wine esque. Not as malty as a barley wine though. Done well, good stuff.
4.0Can, pours a clear straw color and topped with a thick finger of white head. Intense sheet lacing. Sweet scents of citrus and tropical fruit, some pine. Sweet taste, lightly bitter. Syrupy and rich. The hop balance is spot-on, this is really enjoyable.
4.0It pours golden. It has aromas of citrus, and caramel. It has flavors of ctirus, caramel, floral and dark fruits. It has a high bitter kick on the palate.
3.9Can. Slightly hazy yellow gold pour with a big white head. Appricott, citrus, melon, pine. Medium body. Hides the alcohol well. Fruity throughout with bitter sweet finish. Great job
4.0(12oz. can) - Two-fingered foamy head. Lots of big bubbly carbonation in the glass. Clear golden body. Fresh piney aroma. Flavors of Ruby Red Grapefruit and apricot. Fresh pine resin in the aftertaste, which dissipates fairly quickly to a dull roar. A very memorable brew for my 800th! But, 9.7% brew in a can? YOUZA!!
3.3the 12 fl. oz. can with an enjoy by date of 10/23/15.Pale yellow pour with a bit of a chill or hop haze and a modest white foamy head. Fruity and hoppy notes abound in the taste. Medium body and foamy head. has a much more sugary and sweet taste than the aroma would suggest. Not super bitter. More malty and sweet with a subdued bitter finale Still, a decent IPA..
4.2The only crisis here is what I’m going to do when I finish this. The massive amount of grapefruit and tropical fruit has my head spinning. It smells like the ripest mango and pineapple. Taste is all sweet tropical fruit and citrus. No weird sweet maltiness, nothing cloying or stupid. Just big juicy hops. Really awesome ipa, definitely worth picking up!
