8 Wired HopWired IPA

8 Wired HopWired IPA

We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves.
Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

3.2 Beautiful session IPA. Moderately hoppy and bitterness, quite balanced and very enjoyable.
3.2 East of Everything bottle (26-Jan-19) Berry resin aroma. Cloudy amber colour, solid white head and ringed sticked lacing. Sweet berry resin flavour. Sweetish berry light spirit finish and herbal resin light vanilla aftertaste.
3.7 Half litre on tap at Hungry Wolf's, Chiang Rai. Medium white head. Hazy golden pour. Lovely bitterness. Very nice indeed

3.6 Bottle shared thanks to Lucas. Bit hazy bright golden with fluffy off white head. Lots of sweet kiwi and grape, bready malts with a touch of caramel, grassy hops too with some dankness and light fresh herbs, but mostly green and yellow fruits, light sugary and a hint of alcohol. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Bit over medium bodied.
3.8 Clear medium copper with a generous off white head leaving patchy lace. Nose is tropical fruit with a generous dose of flowers, and some pine and some pear and light honey. Flavour is lightly sweet with a medium bitterness. Mouth is medium+ slick with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. 8/4/8/3+/15
3.8 Pine, resin, tea tree, honey and grapefruit on the nose. Medium body and lively carb. Taste is crisp and malty with a hint of sweet citrus. Sweet and malty aftertaste.
3.8 Nice tasty stuff as usual from these guys down under. Hazed golden color with a fine white head. Good hoppy aroma. Fine body and a fine carbonation level. Tad sweet and a fine bitterness. Lasting nice hoppy tail. Quite tropical fruity, pine and grapefruit hoppy flavor. [Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Halden, Norway]
3.9 Bottle. Light amber, almost perfectly clear with pretty big, frothy and very solid white head and nice lacing. Quite strong malty, tropical and herbs aromas with some honey tones. Medium body, sweet start with honey and herbat flavors and solid bitterness in the finish. Dangerously drinkable and very good.
3.7 Aroma: malt, tea notes, herbal notes, some tropical and citrus fruits too, and unfortunatelly there is a bit of musty note too... Taste: really nice, malt, tea notes, light to medium bitterness, but it's okay. Beer isn't very hazy, and has perfect head.
3.9 Aromat: świeży, rześki, półwytrawny, żywice, słodkie owoce tropikalne i soczyste cytrusy. Sporo nut kwiatowych. Wygląd: jasny bursztyn, piana średnia, biała, drobnopęcherzykowa, utrzymuje się chwilę. Czyściutkie i przejrzyste. Lekka słodycz owoców egzotycznych i cytrusów, sporo goryczki, sosnowe żywice i trochę ziół. 8/4/7/4/16
3.8 A solid heavy hopped IPA but piny not the citra/fruity way. Surprisingly light for a 7.3% abv.
3.5 Słodki, lekko miodowy aromat, z nutami owocowymi w tle. W smaku słodko, solidnie słodowo z chmielowym nieco trawiasto-ziołowym goryczkowym finiszem. Dość gładkie, przyjemne mimo umiarkowanej słodowośći.
3.0 Off white weak head. Amber color. Aroma is malty with biscuits, light caramel and fruity (peach) notes. Flavor is malty too with caramel and cookies tones, ending in a bitter finish. Medium bodied.
4.0 330ml bottle. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange marmalade, caramel, vinous, resin. Taste is grapefruit, orange, sweet malts, caramel, lime, resin, finish is bitter. Medium body, smooth, soft carbonation. Very nice.
3.5 Pours a hazy deep amber with a decent off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, malt, hops, slight blueberry, grass, biscuit. Taste is sweet upfront, with a hoppy middle leading to a fairly bitter finish that lingers for a bit. Medium to thin bodied, low carbonation. Pretty good!
3.9 Keg six degrees north. Pours clear amber, thin off white head. This is a very subtle and complex beer. Aroma is fruit, more fruit, vermouth, malt. Taste is dry, with again fortified wine notes. Interesting and well made. Not your typical IPA.
4.0 Bottle 330ml (BB 25.07.2018). Clear, dark-golden colour. White-yellowish head. Good lacing. There are notes of citrus, resin, tropical fruits and malts on the nose. Malty in taste, medium body balanced of medium, resin bitternes. Light in feeling, smooth, even refreshing, drinkable and full of flavors. Really good IPA with NZ hops, I'm glad to had opportunity to taste this beer.
4.2 500ml bottle Hazy amber brown pour with solid white head. Tropical fruit/pine hop aroma. Medium bitterness. Full bodied hop palate - lingering pine bitterness. Very good.
3.8 Bottle. BB Jan 2018; Drank Sept 2017 - Clear orangey gold in colour. Medium off-white head. Very fruity; juicy citrus and tropical fruits; grapefruit, orange, peach, pineapple. Very hoppy; heavy hop bitterness, piney resinous hops. Malty; toasty malts, caramel. Bittersweet citrus and tropical fruity and heavily hopped. Dry bitter finish. Enjoyed this. (2017-09)
Carbonazione medio bassa. notevole.
3.7 Minimal head on a translucent copper coloured still body. Caramel, malt & overripe fruit aroma. Medium bodied, smooth, soft & slightly cloying. Caramel, vinous, malt, grape, under ripe fruit & pepper tastes. Nice one
