8 Wired Semiconductor Session IPA

8 Wired Semiconductor Session IPA

IPAs are great but sometimes you just don’t want the amount of alcohol that comes with most of the good ones. In this spirit we brewed Semiconductor. an IPA designed to be drunk by the gallon, if you are that thirsty.

3.5 33cl bottle from eDrinks, Haabersti. Pours clear deep golden with a fairly modest, white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma, notes of citrus and hints of pine and herbs. Moderate sweet and quite flavourful with nice and bitter finish. Naturally a bit thin, but flavourful, refreshing and sessionable.
3.5 On tap. Amber color, clear liquid, white head. Aroma of bread, flowery smell. Decent.
3.6 Hay, wet straw, intense grain malts, light floral hops. Clear gold, medium, creamy white head. Medium bitter. More floral hops, straw and hay, some citrus fruits, medium bitterness, soft carbonation, dry and bitter finish. Nice SIPA, interesting aroma. Bottle from HonestBrew, Crystal Palace.
3.7 Tap at ibrew Wired. Loads of lemon and citrus. Decent flavour for %. Usual session IPA thing with light body but maybe that’s what you want. Bit of caramel in the background. Good stuff.
3.8 330 ml bottle. Clear light copper, fine creamy white foam mostly lasts. Tropical fruity hop aroma. Taste is tropical fruity citric hop, some grapefruit, mild pale malts with a caramel hint, faintly floral, very sessional. Average carbonation, lighter bodied, moderately hopped. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)
3.4 Copper body with a decent frothing head. Malt and biscuit and lots of intensity for such low ABV. Very nice.
3.7 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
3.6 4.4%ABV. Session IPA. Poured out gold. 6ºSRM. Nose is sweet and beery with a nice deep malt tang. Mouthfeel is light soap. Palate has Graham cracker, pie crust and bread crumbs and bread sticks. Hops are citrus, pine and citrus peel. Finish is medium. Slightly lingering bitter. Overall al very light but aromatically and taste wise hoppy.
3.3 Pours a pale orange coppery colour. Aroma of pine, mango, pineapple and orange. Flavour is very refreshing but a hint of harshness at the end of the sip
3.8 A near perfect session IPA. More complexity than many a double IPA, but with a clean palate and head for a long day of supping in the sun
3.5 330ml bottle. Pours very pale with small quickly dissipating head. Aroma is big hops; there’s plenty of grass, orange and tropical fruit. Taste is mango and a little orange. Only problem is it is very watery, and the aftertaste is slightly metallic.
3.4 Vrij licht en standaard, klein slokje maar van collega. Niets om te onthouden...
3.5 Tap at GJBF Osaka 2016. Big, pissy nose, lots of tropical fruit, grapefruit. Clear orange. Very pissy flavor, honey malts int eh background, biscuits, grapefruit. NZ hops all the way but they are a bit much for me.
3.2 Keg at the Bottle Shop, Bermondsey. It pours a clean pale golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is dry grassy citric with notes of lemon peel, straw and grapefruit. Taste is similarly dry and lightly bitter with more notes of lemon peel, grass straw and grapefruit. Light to medium bodied oath good carbonation. Oveeall, ok
3.8 [8247-20160512] Tap. Fruity sweet orange juice aroma. Clear, orange body with a long-lasting creamy thick off-white head and thick lacing. Bitter toasted orange skins flavour. Medium body. Good. (8/4/7/4/15) 3.8 (@ Craft, Hamilton, NZ)
3.2 2016-05-12. Crisp golden amber body, nice off white head and lace. 3++ Aroma of light fruit, muted green hops. Flavour is moderately bitter, with a slightly dry mineral quality to it. Light fruit in the middle, with grainy malt undertones reminiscent of a second runnings beer. Smooth average to light bodied palate, soft carbonation. 6+/3/6+/3/13-14 On tap at Craft, Hamilton, NZ.
3.4 Tap at Freehouse Singapore. Pours clear golden with a minimal white head which is foamy in appearance. Aroma is grassy and slightly citric. Taste is grapefruit bitter, orange sweet, orange bitter, slightly grassy.
3.2 Bottle (from edrinks, tallinn). Didn’t took notes, but it was golden beer with ok hop profile. The hops were old, but it wasn’t too watery. Decent example of this so called "style", but I would need a lot fresher sample to give it more adequate score.
3.5 Bottle to goblet Consummation: Pepper, wheat, and loads of bitterness. Adjunct: Well, it’s just what’s expected in a session IPA, not much depth, but enough flavour to be drinkable; aroma of grapefruit, grass, plum, and flowers; hazy amber with a think bright white ringed head.
3.1 330ml bottle. Clear amber color. Medium size, thick off-white head, stays. Fruity, citrus, sweet, malty in aroma. Pine needles, fruity, sweet malts, sweet, citrus in taste. Sweet malts and citrusy pine in aftertaste. Light sweet body. Medium bitterness. Soft carbonation. Goes down easy, but doesn’t quench my thirst (and o girl I’m thirsty).
3.2 33cl bottle. Clear orange amber beer, white head. Nose is a bit thin, but grassy, fruity, citric, oranges. Flavor is oranges, peach notes, thin malt and caramel notes, citrus, oranges. Hoppy finish, grapefruity and grassy-earthy notes. Very drinkable or thin as all hell, depending on who you ask. I’m leaning towards "drinkable":
2.3 330ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn) Pale orange, spongy head, briefish. Ugh, messy APA yeast and hop fingerprint in the aroma, a real plasticky mess. Even worse in the mouth. Very dirty, plasticky, APA yeast fingerprint everywhere. Some nuts and nut papers, makes it taste old, but there’s no BB so I can’t judge the age. Palate drinkable, a little watery, pleasant carbonation, but the hops are dirty and dusty, I want to scrape my tongue. And I’m completely parched, I should basically love anything with water in it. All the worst things of APAs and Session IPAs can be found here, dreadful.
3.4 Golden yellow colour. Medium white head. Fruity aroma. Hints of tangerines, orange core, hints of peach. Hints of tangerines at first. Slight sweetness in the middle. Hints of fruits. Slight saltiness. Slightly citrussy finish. Bitterness in aftertaste. Quite well balanced, slightly watery, but quite drinkable session IPA. However, had more refreshing ones which have really juicy taste.
4.0 Odgjnally reviewed April 2016. Still a very good IPA had at home in March 2020 330ml bottle.
3.5 33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A clean amber pour with a loose white head; tropical fruit aroma but muted with some grassy notes; tart fruity taste, with gooseberry and lime; and then some citrus peel to finish. A pleasant beer with more than a touch of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
3.3 Bottle. Very hazy orange gold, lively off white head. Aroma is citrus and light grass, a bit soapy. Light caramel malts, citrus/grassy hop character, a touch reedy. Moderately bitter finish.
3.7 Draught at Mikkeller Bangkok. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, resin, peach, pine and grass. Bitter finish with grapefruit, hops, peach, pine and grass. Excellent session IPA.
3.3 Bottle from Shinsegae Busan. 4.4% It pours a deep gold with minimal foam. The aroma is hoppy dank resinous pine bark with very mild fruitiness. The body is light & very dry while the taste is crackery light malts and sweet citrus rind at first before the pine cones through in the finish. All right but Akitu's was lower in ABV but more drinkable. Maybe due to freshness?
3.8 Rating #1177 14.07.2014 - Bottle from CBI Killer tropical punch erupting from this foaming straw-coloured pour. Cool mango, citrusy hoppy overtones pronounced into a balanced cookie dough, pastry shop maltiness, with a crisp dry finish. Serve it by the gallon.
