8 Wired Tall Poppy India Red Ale

8 Wired Tall Poppy India Red Ale

Tall Poppy - India Red Ale
This is an ale that is not afraid of standing tall among other great beers.
The intense, sharp and fruity hoppiness is backed by its complex, caramel-like malty structure.
Big, yet refreshing. Bold but balanced.
This beer has been designed to have it all, to be the greatest common denominator.

4.0 Pours clear brown. Aroma is roasted, hoppy. Taste is roasted, hoppy, nice balance.
3.9 A juicy, chewy red ale. 330 ml bottle from the supermarket. Pours a cloudy deep amber red, topped with a good head if white froth which retains moderately well. Aroma is hoppy, grapefruit and citrus, pine and resin and caramel. Taste is a mix of the flavours, with the bitter pine and resin, and sweet caramel, dominating the fruity sweetness. Long bitter in the finish. Maintains medium body well even when carbonation fizzes out. Nice!
3.4 Boks fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Drukket på Lillehøgda. Mørk rubinrød. Klar! Middels høyt kremaktig skum som daler sakte. Tynn lacing. Aroma av karamell & søte bær. Smaken tørket frukt. Blir veldig tørr etter hvert.
4.1 Bottle from Salt Horse. Hazy amber body with a thick, lasting beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of wood, toffee and strawberry. Flavour of caramel, fig, liquorice and menthol. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Well balanced and moreish. I love a hoppy Amber Ale / Red IPA.
3.8 330 ml bottle. Burgundy body with a thick, dense off white head. Impressive aroma of bread crust and pine resin. Creamy mouthfeel, with strong, lasting bitter finish. Taste of bread crust, light chocolate and pine resin. Very nice.
3.7 Full bodied, bitter and malty yet at the same time hoppy and refreshing. Well balanced overall.
3.9 Butelka 330ml. Rzodkiewkowy kolor z rubinowym refleksem. Piana obfita, biała ,lekko brudzona o dość dużych pecherzach zanika powoli. Aromat dojrzałych owoców tropikalnych, suszu owocowego ,słodów ,karmelu i nuty szyszek sosnowych. W smaku mango, marakują,rodzynki, daktyle, lekkie nuty czerwonych cytrusów, karmel, marmolada. Alkohol świetnie ukryty,mała karbonacji,świetne piwo
3.4 I do like a red ale and this is a well balanced one. Enough malty backbone to reminisce over and hoppy on the nose to add some fruit. Fairly full-on snow globe effect, but that doesn't bother me and Soren & crew are aware of this
3.1 From bottle. Resin, floral, brown, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, very bitter, full body, soft carbonation, bitter aftertaste.
2.9 From a beer hawk mystery case. Pours reddish brown. Thin head. Little aroma. Sweet malt liquid , bitter , chocolate. Too sweet for my palate.
2.8 Bottle sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks Lior D. Amber. Malt, caramel, stale hops, sweetish, bitter finish. Not fresh enough.
4.0 500ml bottle Red brown pour with tan head. Malty aroma. Malty palate with light hop note. Very nice.
3.0 At Max Place, pours orange rusty with a small head, aroma of fruits, cardboard, cocoa, flavor is slightly bitter with Cocoa, orange, medium bodied
3.8 Pours a deep, dark amber with an off white head. Aroma is slight fruit, malty, hops. Taste is heavy malt up front, leading to a very slight bitterness, still heavy malt throughout, some sweet fruit, ending with a hint of pine. Lingers for a while, gaining bitterness slightly. Low carbonation, medium bodied. Lovely beer!
3.5 Taster, six degrees north. Pours muddy red, off white head. Huge fruity and floral aroma, which is contrasted by the dry, pepper and spice taste. An odd contrast, and not completely sure it works. Interesting.
3.5 330ml bottle. Pours hazy dark reddish-brown, beige head. Aroma of fruits, strawberries, jam, caramel. Taste is sweetish, caramelly, raisins, caramel, some herbal notes, nuts. Medium bodied, average carbo. Not bad, easily drinkable.
3.4 Draught at Mikkeller Seoul. Dark copper color, beige head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, bread, nuts, a bit of fruits and caramel. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, caramel, nuts, a bit of fruits and bread. Very nice amber ale.
3.6 33 cl bottle from wishbeer bangkok. pours amber red with little head. malty aroma with Malty hoppy taste.
3.5 On tap at Vrteška 2017, shared with Višnja 666! Clear amber, off-white head. Good malt profile, fruity with some alcohol. Strong and toasty, even roasty. Medium body, average carbonation, light roasty finish. Good one, although not very special.
1.7 Not nearly as good as hopwired. Taste is too malty. Nothoppy enough to be considered a true IPA. Some might like it but for me it's not pleasant. Not disgusting but no too tasty
3.7 Bottle. Pours a clear reddish beer with a medium sized, off white head on top. Aroma has massive hoppy notes, lots of ripe tropical fruits, a hint of caramelized malts, floral notes. I wouldn’t be suprised if they used New-Zealand hops in this beer. Flavor is strong bitter, balanced over to the bitter side of the palate, which is perfectly fine. Quite high in carbonated mouthfeel, long in bitter aftertaste with some toasted caramel notes in there. Quite nice!
3.3 On tap at Vrteška, 2017. Pours amber with medium off-white head. Malty, caramel, fruity, oranges, some hops, probably not the freshest. Sweetish, some bitterness in finish, medium bodied.
3.7 Klares, rötliches Bernstein mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, Karamell, leicht nussig, etwas fruchtig, Zitrusfrüchte, Orangen.
3.8 330 ml bottle bought at HK Brewcraft in Tsim Sha Tsui. Looks: Clear amber red colour; One finger head with crumpety light beige foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with quite fizzy carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant full Ale malt, with strong caramel, rich toffee, citrus peels, light tangerines, floral, strong molasses, pine, strong resins, spices, earth, biscuit, lemon and grass. Taste: Close to medium sweet strong Amber malt, with grapefruits, strong caramel, toffee, strong floral, molasses, pine, strong resins, spices, strong herbs, dry biscuits, strong lemon, very strong bitter hops and grass. Body: Full body; Thick and very oozy palate. Mouth Feel: Quite rich Amber maltyness in a thick background, smoothness is oat-like. Strong oozy hoppiness dominates throughout, with pine, grapefruits, spices and strong herbs to compliment solid caramel and toffee. Flowery with just right sweetness. Biscuity with strong lemon to round. Very good! Hoppiness: Citrus peels, light tangerines, floral, pine, strong resins, spices, earth, lemon and grass in nose. Grapefruits, strong floral, pine, strong resins, spices, strong herbs, strong lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, more than high astringent bitter-sweet herbal malty finish. After taste: Quite dry. Oozy, spicy and strong bitter to mouth. Comments: Its Amber maltyness is rich already, with rock solid IPA style resiny citrus hoppiness for a well-balanced tasting sensation. A damn good English-style red IPA!
4.0 Pours a red colour. Taste is quite fruity dry and hoppy on the palate. A very good beer
3.1 On tap at Vrteška. Thanks... someone... :D Clear amber body, off white head that went away fast. Oily malty aroma, light tangerine. Light malty taste, vague flowery and citric hoppy undertones. Yeah, not an IRA, closer to an Amber Ale. But meh however you put it.
3.6 Draft 0.15l at Craft & Draft Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 04.04.2017. Taste with kermis. Pour it amber color with small white head. Aroma peanuts and herbal hoppy feel. Taste nice red blood oranges, grapefruit, sweet, smooth creamy texture, medium to full body, thick feel, average carbonation, bitter pleasent finish.
Chula!
3.4 Amber red colour with nice head that left beautiful lacing as it dissolved. Aroma has caramel malts, raisin and dried fruits, pines and grass hops too. Taste is sweet with caramel malts, raisin, ends with pines and grass hops. Medium body and medium carbonation. Way too much caramel malts for me, maybe the hops have disappeared already, who knows.
3.1 Color ámbar casi marrón, rojizo si le da la luz, translúcido, con capa de espuma blanca de dos dedos de grosor (poca retención). Carbonatación media. Textura acuosa. Aroma a cítricos, resina y caramelo.
