3.3 Bottle, alko kyrkslätt. Dark brown clear. Malty, doughy smooth bready nose, light roast, dark doughy like. Med full bodied, light metallics. Flavourful, nice sweetness, bitters balance, some chocolate in finish. Quite ok.
3.3 (Bottle, 0.33 l - BB date unreadable, from Alko, 20170609) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and cocoa. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, grass, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A beer having good characteristics but the end result was unbalanced.
3.6 Bottle. Clear mahogny brown in color with a tan head. Sweetness, bready dark malts and cocoa powder in aroma. Bready malty taste as well, mild bitterness in the background. Sweetness too, not too much though.
3.6 A dark, reddish borwn beer, a head is small and light beige. Aroma has dried fruits with plums, some breadyness, maltyness with honey. Quite sweet aroma. Taste has dried fruitness, honey, only light breadyness, quite sweet. Medium bodied, smooth enough. Quite tasteful beer, dried fruits and only light breadyness.
3.2 Bottle shared thanks to my brother. Clear amber with small beige head. Light cardboard, pils malts, caramel, light dried fruit, soft earthy notes. Medium sweet and light bitter. Over medium bodied with soft feel.
3.7 From old tasting notes. Translucent reddish brown color. Tan head that dissapates quickly. Intense smoky, sweet roasted malt nose. Full roasted malt flavor is sweet at first, the becoming tangy, then bitter in finish. Long bittersweet aftertaste.very big and full-bodied with a chewy mouthfeel.
3.6 Rating from old records. One of the first bock's I tried and led us to homebrew the style. Still a fan a quarter century later.
3.5 Flaske. Aromaen er karamell, gress og noe tørkede mørke frukter. Smaken er søt malt med noe gress og urter fra humlen. Bitter ettersmak.
3.6 Bottle. Copper colour with white head. Fruity, nut and caramel aroma. Sweet, fruity, nuts, malt, caramel taste. Some bread. Medium body.
4.0 Pours dark copper with small lacing. Aroma suggests caramel and toasted malt flavour. Tastewise, mostly semi sweet caramel and traces of some fruit. Finish is slightly bitter, long. High drinkability for any occasion. Medium body, carbonation is soft.
3.1 Draft @ Gummibaren, Drammen.
1.8 God å drikke kan oxo fint brukes i pannekaker 😊. Synd ikke alle polutsalg har den
3.1 Aroma : caramel, chocolate, Appearance: red/brown, clear, white foam, minimal head, Taste : medium sweetness, medium sourness, The palate: medium body, sticky, average carbonation, long finish, bitter,
3.0 Clear chestnut colour liquid with yellowish head. Aroma of malts, caramel, saurkraut. Taste is same but less, light sweet, medium bitter, light sour. Light body, creamy feel, average carbonisation, astringent
3.1 Bottle from Rune and Finn (thank you!) passed on at the NWAF, Derby, Friday, 19th February 2016 shared at dad’s house, Kilburn, Derbyshire. Pours reddy amber with a white/off-white head, slightly sour on the nose. Some toffee, fruity with some berries, it’s a busy carbonation, tangy but also a bit sour in the mouth, not sure if this is intentional and yet I don’t mind it, but it certainly moves this away from a traditional Bock. Yes it is quite gassy, it’s fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
3.3 Klart mahognibrunt med tynt, hvitt skum. Tørket frukt, kaffe og toffee i duften. Mye det samme i smaken sammen med maltekstrakt. Lett bitterhet i avslutningen. Litt tynn munnfølelse.
3.3 Amber brown toward copper colour with an off-white head. Nose: Moderate maltiness, caramel, hints of dried fruits and a little fruity hops. Taste: Medium light bodied, rather fruity bock. Slight sweetness, rather rich carbonation. The hops shows up in a little bitterness in the aftertaste. Malty, balanced, smooth and rather elegant albeit a bit one dimensional. But it slowly grows on me...
3.7 Rated from old notes. Pours with an airy creamy head. Fruity, sweet and full with an appropriate alcohol presence. Mildly bitter. Nice.
3.2 8/17/2007 10:31:39 AM Bottle at Trond’s house. Dark ruby colour. Lasting head. Sweet. Caramel. Malty. Slightly spicy. One of the smoothest bock’s I’ve ever tasted - very different from the Benelux variety. Watery and nowhere near as spicy as what I am used to - but good nonetheless. Also another MJ entrant.
3.4 Norwegian import at The New Penguin, January 2015. Vanilla capped burgundy appearing darker. Enticing chewy aroma of malt loaf; juicy fig and prune, cherry Tunes, muscovado. Brown sugar and malt heavy with good chewy malt loaf studded with raisin and dried strawberry bits. Slightly saline and beefy. Dark chocolate and wholemeal hints. A touch tooth-rotting but good.
3.7 Pours copper color, nice beige head, good lacing. Atlroma of caramel, bread crust, dried plums. Taste medium sweet, caramel, fruits. Very decent bock
3.8 An overall nice beer, rather heavy taste but light aroma. Nice with the gruyere cheese
3.3 Nice looking tall 0,33 l bottle bought at Grüne Woche 2015, Berlin. Pours out dark red brown with a one finger light tanned head. Malt, berriefruits and choco on the nose. Taste starts smooth malty with coffie, berriefuits, sweet, alcoholic hints. Little bit dry ending. A nice no. 700 for me.
3.2 How: Bottle Appearance: Dark brown, medium head. Aroma: chocolate, caramel, wood. Palate: medium body, soft carbonation.
2.5 Bottle at Nathalia & Andreas Christmas Lunch. Clear dark brown - white head. High sweetness. Candy. Burned sugar. Roasted. Lots of burned caramel. Light light acid notes. Thin body with a sweet finish.
3.9 Looks; near clear dark brown body, tall tan head, slim lacing lines all over. Aroma; dark sweet malts, lots of dark fruits, raisins, prunes, toffee caramel. Taste; dark caramel malts, prunes in chocolate sauce, raisins in creamy syrup, milky toffee fudges. Feels soft as tart cream in the mouth, superb! Finishes sweet creamy, with chocolate and caramels on the backbone of roasted sweet malts. Overall; splendid evening sipper. 3.9 From bottle 15.10.14. Dark copper. Dark beige head and lacing. Aroma of dark caramel, sweet malt, dark berries and fine port. Similar taste, with prunes, dates and dark rye bread. High drinkability. A superb bock!
3.7 0,33 l, flaske, BB 13/12/13, gave fra Handschuh - tak! 1. oktober 2014.
3.7 Bottle at beer festival. Poured a clear dark red with a white head. Slightly hoppy and airily sweet on the nose. Hints of syrupy sweetness with slight bubbles and bitterness. Good.
3.2 Dark brown, small light brown head. Sweet aroma with caramel, clear malty taste, but good balance.
