Abbaye des Rocs Blanche des Honnelles (Blanche Double)
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe and drunk on 21/12/2006. Very nice Belgian beer, with lots of fruity and straw notes.
golden with minimal head. wheaty, mild generic spiced aroma with cloves. taste is direct and not incredible. sufficient gravity behind it. confusing because it definitely does not seem like a blanche or certainly not a wit. more like blonde belgian ale. meh

Bue en même temps que le barbeque, pas trop eu le temps de savourer. Couleur blonde, gout de blanche, bonne blanche mais assez corpulente.
à la maison. Je ne suis pas fan des blanches mais là c'est une merveille. Robe qui tire vers le blond , nez sucré , en bouche c'est sirupeux et houblonné. Désaltérante et charpentée à la fois.

Första gången jag dricker något med beteckningen ”dubble wit”. Lätt syrligt, mer kropp än en vanlig wit. Smakar också mer, tydlig kryddighet o mer beska på slutet. Påminner om vissa saison/lättare blond. Gott!
Donkergeel bier met beperkte witte schuimkraag. Helemaal niet troebel, zoals je van een wit bier zou verwachten. Proeft vlak, tarwe, beperkte afdronk. Geen hoogvlieger
Fresh wheat and barley aromas—that distinct Belgian aroma for sure! Pours a light golden brown, clear, very little head. Peppery on tip of tongue then mellows and reveals a balanced malty sweetness on finish. Pretty good!

Fridge clean-out rating day! 330ml bottle. Clear deep gold, huge and lasting foamy thick head. Like a mild belgian golden strong ale - floral with solid alcohol presence, a bit muted. Light and airy moutfeel, mild carbonation, quick finish. Has mellowed out a lot sitting in my fridge.
Birra bianca " fuori dagli schemi". Molto alcolica rapportata alle altre blanches, schiuma poco persistente, colore non bianco:caratteristiche che la differenziano dalle tradizionali birre del suo stile. Poco profumata e in bocca nota prevalente di frutta matura (banana)

Bottle from Hofstetten: Hazy yellow color, low white head. Flavor is light malty, some cardboard, some fruitiness with notes of banana and grapes, bubble gum, alcohol, yeast. Strange unbalanced brew.
Almost clear, yet flaked, yellow pour with a small white head. Flowery aroma along with pear, some banana and malts and yeasts. Halfway medium sweet with a hint of bitter in the throat. Also somewhat metallic. Medium bodied with halfway medium carbonation. Not a shocker. Okay at best.
Mycket bra öl för stiltypen
Color marrón anaranjado, turbidez media. Un dedo de espuma con retención media. Aroma a levadura, especias, diría que pimienta, y algo de polvo. Gusto a pan, ligera naranja, cilantro y pimienta, un punto rancia, para tener 6 grados da sensación de alcohólica. Cuerpo medio. La he probado con anterioridad, con otro etiquetado y le recodaba ese punto de almacen, seguramente estaba algo degradada.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours orange gold, hazy, with minimal white foam. Aroma is very yeasty and fruity. Body is average with moderate carbonation. Taste is sweet but moderated with some tartness. Finish is fairly short.

Цвет: бледно-оранжевый. Плотное, непрозрачное с быстро исчезающей пеной.
В аромате: дрожжи, кориандр и апельсин.
На удивление пустой вкус и такое же послевкусие. Практически нет характерной цитрусовой витбирной кислинки.
Где здесь «Двойной бланш», хрен знает?!
Excellent witbier, very handsome beer with a lovely white, frothy head. Dry, smooth, citrus peel and coriander. Very good
Surprising and incomparable to other wheat beers taste. While relatively discreet on the nose, its initial flavour yields to an intensely dry bitterness on a peppery background. There is no acidity. Refreshing.
Robe orangée, légèrement trouble, carbo correcte, très jolie mousse, assez tenace. Nez gourmand, légèrement acidulé, agrumé (froment), mais très subtil. En bouche, on retrouve des arômes de blanche, et beaucoup de corps, de richesse, pour une bière pourtant légère, et d'un style habituellement très « calme ». On comprend bien le « dubbel wit » précisé sur la bouteille : c'est plus corpulent, plus riche, on sent la levure, c'est excellent ! Tout en se buvant très bien.

Bottle from Willems, poors light amber with dense, white head. Aroma lots of yeast, slightly peppery, warm and inviting. Taste yeasty, some fruity esters, lots of wheat and tasty oats. MF thick and soft. No cheap spices or orange peel but very full bodied, more in the style of a Hefeweizen albeit with less pronounced esters, the added oats really go well with this.
Flaska från Belgoklubben. Gul med vitt skum. Doft och smak av banan och örtig jäst.
Bevuta in bottiglia. L'etichetta è diversa. Ottima blanche. Molto corposa, alto grado alcolico ed ambrata per la tipologia. La consiglio.
330ml bottle. Barely clear, brass colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy and slightly wheaty aroma, hints of coriander. Taste is sweet-ish wheaty, spicy, minimally fruity, hints of coriander, orange zest. Compact, integrated, a bit heavy for a Wit.
