Abita Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with fresh raspberries added during secondary fermentation. Subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste.

2.5It’s not bad, but it isn’t good either. Inoffensive. I’d drink this again but I wouldn’t buy this again
3.1Pint at the Happy Viking. Why all the hate? Whiel not outstanding, it wasn't bad. Nice bready fullness, and solid raspberry flavors. Didn't seem fake.
2.8Bottle @ Fox & Hounds, Åbenrå. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are raspberries, fruits, malt and hops. Sweet berry finish.
2.5Botella. Unclear to hazy deep golden, medium bubbly head. Aroma: Berry mild with an ok maltiness. Fair palate. Flavour has raspberries and malt, thin and indeed lack og raspberries.
3.5Appearance: hazy orange with small white head.
Smell: fruity essence
Taste: very dank taste with slightly fruity aftertaste. Not getting much raspberry though.
2.3Bottle, 4.2%. Clear golden with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, raspberries, fruit and a little caramel. Flavour is malt, fruit, raspberries, grainy, caramel, medium sweet, little thin and a little bitter.
2.7Copenhagen 8/4 2019. 35,5 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh Ø. Drawing of some guy dressed up like the bad guy in the Frog Princess on the label. The Brewery calls it a “Raspberry Lager”. Unnerving.
Pours murky orange with a small white head with pink tint. Bubbly. Settles as lonely patch of foam. No Lacing.
Aroma is very fruity in the tart and sourish understanding of the word. Ooght raspberry sweetness with strong tart and acerbic notes.
Medium carbonation. Thin, watery and lively texture.
Flavor is bit thin. Lightly sweet followed by a somewhat stronger sourness. Almost No Aftertaste.
Nice tart aroma but a very thin cup of beer when it comes to Flavor and texture.
2.6Aroma: Fruity and slightly sour berries.
Flavour: Fruity sweet with notes of raspberries. Aftertaste is candy sweet.
Colour: Dark amber with an offwhite head.
2.5Bottle from Boxbeers. Unclear golden with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and light raspberry. Flavor is medium sweet. Sweet finish. 060419
3.3Would go awesome with sweet, spicy, & smokey barbecue baby back ribs or dark chocolate (unsweetened) brownies.
4.1Anita Purple Haze is a surprisingly smooth lager. I was surprised that I enjoyed the real raspberry flavor added after filtration. I could taste the Vanguard hops. I would drink this again.
3.8Stacey: Purple Haze, purple shmaze. If this was a velverty purple chair I would buy it. But it's not. It's not gross like I thought it would be, with only a light raspberry taste. But also not the best beer in the world. I will give it a 3.4 but probably not another pour
Brad:I would rather drink this purple than wear it. I could definitely drink enough to make my wits all vanish, I promise. It's just a... Matter of time.
But really, I would drink it again. I would order a lot of other beers before getting it though. The raspberry isn't overpowering. Stacey didn't even notice it in a blind test.
3.4Sampled during THT November. Pours a hazy golden amber with a white head. Smooth tropical fruits, peach, candied fruits.
3.1THT November. Bottle. Hazy golden with white head. Sweet malts, raspberries, lemonade, slightly cardboardy. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation.
2.9Bottle shared at THT. Bit hazy dark golden with soft blueish hue. Soft cooked raspberries, light dry malts, water, soft raspberry jam. Light sweet and bitter. Light bodied.
3.1The Hague Beer Tasting - 16 November 2018 at Brouwerij Kwartje
Watery, slight raspberry taste.
1.0I hate to be negative, however Purple Haze is underdeveloped, I tasted no Raspberry or Alcohol. I found this a waste of money, it tasted like Delta tap water, and at 4.2% proof, Purple Haze is really closer to Near-Beer than real beer.
2.2Bottled. Mariano’s. So underwhelming. Wanted so much more, the raspberry is barely there.
1.1Found in bottle from Binnys in Plainfield, Illinois. Funky but in a very bad way. The aftertaste unfortunately stays with you for longer than you would like. Not a well brewed beer for any style.
2.5Pours clear amber with white head. Aroma is bread and light berry. Taste is light caramel, moving to berry and wheat. Finish is wheaty.
2.2(12oz bottle, part of a part 12-pack)
AROMA: fruity, berryish, slightly sweet, hint of sweet corn?, touch of toffee
APPEARANCE: light coppery amber, weak head and residual, just a bit of haze
TASTE: berry, some sweetness, very light malt and hops
PALATE: relatively light body, fresh, crisp, fair amount of frizz
OVERALL: a bit too much berry, and the berry flavor reminds of cheap jelly or one of those frozen fruit sticks. There is some beer essence but it is hidden under the "fruit". a good fruit beer should find a way to have the fruit and beer qualities complement each other (this doesn't do a good job with that). The beer is drinkable, and would ok if ice cold and you were on the beach on a very hot day.
2.8Poured from the tap. Hazy golden brown with white head. Mild raspberry with watery wheat backbone. Quite underwhelming.
2.0It primarily tastes like a typical wheat beer with just a slight taste of raspberry.
2.8Bottle at The Spotted Cat, New Orleans. Aroma is wheaty malt with raspberry. Flavour is sweetish but not as sweet as you'd expect from a fruit beer like this. Body is light to medium. A bit weak overall but I don't dislike it.
2.512 oz. bottle. Pours a thick, rapidly collapsing off white head, over a hazy gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is moderate fruit with berry tones, mild malts, no hops.....taste is lightly berry sweet malt, with raspberry, mild malt tones, finishing with no hops......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. This fruit beer does not meet the base beer style of an American Wheat, and the added fruit is quite muddled and light. BJCP 7/2/9/4/5
4.0Purple Haze, all in my brain. Smells good, tastes good, wife really enjoys all these Abita fruit beers.
2.512 oz Flasche. Trüb dunkelgelbes Bier. Viel Schaum. Leicht parfümierter Getreideduft. Im Antrunk etwas Himbeere und Säure. Wässerig. Müsste viel mehr Frucht haben. Es bleibt nur die Säure auf der Zunge.
3.2Bottled from Wholefoods, Bryant park
Hazy orange/copper. White head.
Sweet and fruity aroma with raspberries.
Cereal flavour with some raspberries. Dry, light bitterness. Very light body.
2.4Bottle. Clear golden color with a white head. Raspberry aroma. Raspberry grain flavor. Light body.
3.0Pours a slightly purple/berry color. Has only a slightly sweet flavor, bit more of a tart fruit taste like an underripe berry.
