Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager

Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager

Ripe, red Louisiana strawberries are harvested at the peak of the season in the early morning chill. The scent of the juicy red Ponchatoula berries fills the air as they’re picked and pressed for Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager. The end result is a light, crisp lager with just a hint of strawberry sweetness.

3.9 Drank it from the bottle so not sure about its appearance, light strawberry jam aroma. Nice strawberry flavor to it, with a slight processed taste to it like a strawberry compote, faintly tart with not too much sweetness to the berry flavor either. Decent malt body that gives adds mild biscuty sweetness with hints of wheat to it that gives me a slight strawberry shortcake impression. Very faint hint of hops on the back-end almost not even noticeable with a ghostly impression of spices like cinnamon and pepper. Light bodied with a higher then average amount of carbonation to it.
3.7 Clear golden color, no head whatsoever. no lacing. It’s got a decent aroma, smells more of a strawberry flavoring than it does a strawberry. It’s okay I can see how other people might really enjoy this but it just doesn’t do much for me.
4.6 My go-to summer beer. Refreshing, nice strawberry. Discovered on honeymoon
4.5 This is awesome because it tastes just like strawberry Cap'n Crunch from when I was 10 years old! I want this all summer. Hope it's available next year too! If you like strawberry flavor than you will love this beer. If you remember Cap'n Crunch in the strawberry flavor that you will die for this, just sayin! Not bitter, lightly sour, medium/Med high sweetness, lightly bitter, medium sweetness awesome beer. Most women will love this beer. Great bday gift or after dinner beer. I'll cry if I run out.
3.4 Light overall aromas of strawberry and a very weak pink golden colour to the beer. Sweet but not too sweet.
5.0 Best hot weather, lawn-mowing beer ever made. I stock up every spring hoping to have enough to last through October.
2.9 Aroma: strawberries, malt Taste: moderately sweet strawberries flavor with lite malty background. Drinkable and refreshing.
2.7 12 oz. bottle shared with Leslie. Pour was light golden. Aroma of strawberry, fruit, grain. Taste was mild sweet, light strawberry, berry, medicinal.
2.9 Pours a cloudy, golden color. About half finger white head. Okay retention, okay lacing. Very, very carbonated. Aroma is caramel, strawberry jam, and wheat bread. It’s one ingredient short of a sandwich. Taste is sweet, sweet tart, strawberry. Wheat bread. Mouthfeel is light, crisp and dry. Super carbonated, so its prickly, almost spicy. Tart, and sweet. Overall it’s pretty good. I’d drink it if offered, I would recommend it over some. Glad I tried it.
2.9 Hazy amber/gold color; Light to medium body; Aroma of malt, fruit/strawberry, & some caramel; Flavor of slight sweet malt, caramel, and fruit/berries; Strawberries flavor is fairly subdued - but not bad overall.
4.0 My wife is really liking this beer so I had to try one. Nice and clean lager with strawberry. I think it’s prety tasty.
3.7 Nice light lager with medium strawberry flavor. Not my normal preference but a solid enjoyable light beer.
3.3 Goldgelb schaum ok, Geruch nach Erdbeben irgendwie etwas nach candy und Malz, im Geschmack Erdbeere etwas säure etwas süße vom malz leicht herber Abgang, ganz in Ordnung
3.8 Clear light golden with a fluffy white cap. Thick strawberries and cream aroma that’s like delightful ink custard. Brisk crisp lagery backbone on the palate with a slight crackery tone, building up to a pleasant light but sweet strawberries and fresh cream tone. Light but pleasant.
3.1 Was looking for a lite beverage to have with heavy sandwich. This was not over powering of the berry note scent but noticed. Flavor was not overly sweet for my liking and no bitterness after. Just something reminding me of other summer refreshing mix of fruit with alcohol.
3.2 12 oz bottle. Not really much to say here --- just another attempt to blend fruit and beer which usually goes bad in most cases like this one.
2.1 Eh. About what you expect. Too sweet candy strawberry tasting. Still drinkable and fine for bbq beer.
1.8 Tap at ole saint in Nola. Accidentally ordered this. Bad accident. Looks good, hazy gold with very thick white head. Spoiled fruit aroma. Fake fruit taste with bad beer follow through. Poor.
1.6 Aroma was rotten, putrid strawberries. Flavor was hindered by the thinness of the body and was basically a mild strawberry flavor with some carbonic tang, some weird oily sweetness. The finish is a memory of that awful aroma.
3.2 appearance: slightly opaque light gold, short white head. aroma: strawberry, hay, light cracker. taste: sweet, fully of jammy strawberry, some light notes of toasted white bread, hint of grass. finish: lingering strawberry sweetness. notes: As advertised and not surprised. Not terrible. I could see this being refreshing on a hot and humid Louisiana day. Draught at the brewpub, New Orleans trip 2016.
3.0 Pours a clear golden color. Aromas of mild berries, wheat bread, and a touch of hops. Flavor is a nice balance of soft fruit flavor with malts and a crisp dry finish. This one has a subdued flavor, not over the top.
2.8 Its a strawberry beer. Its called she wolf, its okay... But you know. Light golden amber. Strawberry jam sweetness. The snozeberries taste like real snozeberries. Some undertones for malt. Light body. You boys ever been to Mexico?
2.9 My friend shared her bottle with me. I am not usually a fruit beer kind of person. It was ok. Grainy with sourdough and berry jam.
3.2 On tap. Cloudy light orange pour. Luscious berry aroma on the nose. Very nice. Watery mouthfeel but you wouldn’t want this to be thick and heavy. Very refreshing. I expected it to be overly sweet and sickening. It was neither. Good show, Abita.
3.2 Pours slightly clouded yellow-gold with medium white head that leaves some nice lace. Nose is cereal and strawberry candy. The strongly artificial opening makes the initial palate seem like a corn syrup-lager mix. I’m not a Cap’n Crunch consumer, but that popped to mind. After a few minutes, though, this beer settles down nicely. Both the aroma and the taste begin to seem more like fresh strawberries. It’s still on the sweet side, but not as cloying as its first impression. While clearly intended as a hot weather beer, this is another brew that benefits from not being served icy cold. For those who like Purple Haze, this is a companion brew.
3.0 If this is real strawberry all I have to say is wow. It seems fake. Nose is a bit skunky then strawberry. Taste is fruity and also meaty. Light on the tongue. I can see this being a big chick beer. Carmel skunk and strawberries.
3.3 Hazy straw yellow in color... Aroma of fruity pebbles, artificial strawberries.... Flavor is crisp and refreshing, lots of wheat and strawberry notes, kind of tastes like juice, good if you are looking for that kind of thing...
2.5 Clear dark yellow. Strong strawberry aroma with wheat. Aroma is actually fairly similar to Cap’n Crunch crunch berries. Artificial strawberry flavor is also similar to crunch berries. Fizzy. I like Cap’n crunch but it’s a weird flavor to have in my beer.
3.5 6flight tap at Geraghty’s Pub, Burlington, nj. Wow... big strawberry and honey nose. Light cloudy ale is a fun brew and reminds me of bubblicious gum. Probably would stop at one pint.
1.9 Shared 12 oz. bottle. Straw color, slightly hazy, with a white head. Aroma of strawberry and a sub-par lager. Taste is wheat, very weak and artificial strawberry, and bad, impure watery lager. Similar to Purple Haze, but with strawberries rather than raspberries. Not a fan.
