3.1 Brilliant white foamy head stayed on a cloudy pe straw coloured still body. Grain & malt aroma. Medium bodied, well carbonated & cloying. Grain, stone fruit, banana & spiced tastes with a peppery finish. Average
3.3 the aroma: fruity, floral, hints of sweet citrus, apple, grain, candy and herbs... the taste: fruity, floral, notes of dried banana, apple, lollipop, clove, some other spices... the aftertaste: sweet, dry...
0.6 Tap @Cleethorpes taphouse & kitchen Cloudy yellow. Tastes like generic lager, no wheat characteristics at all. Went back to the bar to Say they pured me wrong thing. They havent
2.3 0,5 l bottle from Bierzwerg, Greven. Flat murky orange golden with a nearly three finger white frothy head. Grainy malty smell, less fruity. Taste is also flat, low fruity, low malty. Boring.
3.5 Bottle from The Curious Hop, Otley. Pours a hazy amber colour with a large creamy white head. Very lively carbonation, big bubbles. Aromas of wheat, grains, banana, white bread and hints of cloves. Taste seems to be more grainy and bready than the average Hefe with lighter tones of banana and cloves. Light bodied, fair amount of carbonation on the palate and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Average Hefeweizen if maybe a little different.
3.6 0,5 l bottle served in a weizenglass. Poured cloudy amber with four finger off white head. Aroma: banana, cloves, vanilla, caramel, cardemom, coriander. Taste: ripe banana, vanilla, coriander, cloves, raspberry jam, caramel, cinnamon, orange peel, pepper. Medium body with spicy bittersweet finish. Nice but there are better hefeweizen out there...
3.8 Decent Weissbier. It's got a lot going for it with all the sediment, bits and bob floating in the glass, it's super authentic and very tasty. However! A little bit thin... But no worry. Let's call it a session weis. Lots of yeasty notes with all the dough you could want. It's lacking a bit of a sweet edge, drifts more towards the sour but it's charming stuff. Classic.
2.8 Muddy amber color with good foam. Nose. Wheat, yeast, a little bannana. Taste. Carbonization is weak, yeast taste, sweet wheaten, with a hint of fruit. The aftertaste. Malt, sweetish.
3.2 Estery judging by the banana scent. Poured cloudy golden body with off white lace top. Taste is medium sweet to lightly bitter with a light sour finish. Palate is medium bodied clammy feel soft to average carbonation and a long finish. Almost a parody of a weizen.
3.1 500 ml from tap. Cloudy golden, foamy head. Clove, banana, yeast, white bread. Mild dryness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, light dry finish.
3.0 On tap at Aldstadt Hotel, Zum Hechten, Füssen, Germany. Hazy yellowy gold with a with a large white head. Light fizziness in the mouth, usual wheaty characteristics are there but subtle in the delivery, light citrus. Good but just a little thin.
3.8 ABK Hefeweizen 5.3%. Hazy golden, banana, wheaty malt aroma, light bodied, wheaty malt, banana, spices. Lovely Hefeweizen from Kaufbeuren 🇩🇪
3.2 Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of sweet malts, subtle banana and clove. Taste of sweet bready malts, some banana, slight melon, custard cream and subtle clove. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A sweet, malty and estery finish. A typical German Hefeweizen. Sweet but refreshing.
2.5 I couldn't taste banana or bread.....poor ish. Tasted like a cider
3.5 Nothing exceptional but it's a really solid beer for the type. Has what you'd expect. Banana, bread, a dash of citrus, hop. Doesn't break the mould but is very, very drinkable.
2.6 Draught at The Head of Steam, Birmingham. Gold with white head. There is a heavy estery, banana character to this from the off. A touch tinny, sharp on the palate, slightly thin. Not really for me.
3.2 500ml bottle with lunch. Hazy yellow with a foamy white head. Citrus aroma, flavour is citrus, bread, some malt. Ok
3.7 2. 5. 2018, Alder Gasthaus w/ family. On tap. Nice frothy off white head, not to mirky golden colour. Standard Hefe aroma. Very drinkable. A bit sweet, a tiny bit less bitter. Super with a complementary meal.
3.5 Bottle from Appellation Wines, Comely Bank, thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours hazy yellow with a thick white head. Aromas of banana and pineapple. Taste is bready, light spice, more banana. Clean finish.
3.4 Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - cloudy yellow brown with a very generous head, as expected from Hefeweizen. Nose - light banana, pineapple and slight funkiness. Taste - dry banana and pineapple. Candied lemon on the finish. A hint of nutmeg. Palate - close to medium bodied. Tangy and creamy through the middle and end sections. Overall - decent example of the style.
2.9 From bottle. Transfer of an earlier rating without text recorded, rating only.
3.2 Bottle 50cl. poured into a footed pilsner glass. Cloudy pale golden, lot of activity in the glass, tall frothy white head, good retention, heavy lacing; aroma wheat, yeast, banana, cloves, hint of citrus; taste medium sweet, slightly bitter, light sourish, wheaty, yeast, very light banana, light lemon, light cloves, bit cardboard; sweet and light sourish aftertaste, light spicy notes, metallic hint; medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation; overall a bit messy.
2.8 Probada en el Olut de Sabadell, en barril color amarillo aroma a levadura y plátano
2.9 Draft at Kaelderkold. Hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of yeast, banana and light fruity notes. Flavour is moderate sweet. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation. [11-07-2016]
3.0 On tap. Quite clear golden color for a hefeweizen, white head. Aroma has the typical yeast esters, banana being the most prominent. Taste starts slightly sweet with clean wheat malt and banana. Finish is more balanced but there is also a slight cardboard note. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad but it’s really generic and mediocre.
2.1 Keg pint @ The Abbey. Hazy yellow appearance, good white collar. Astonishingly flavourless hefeweizen, almost coming across like an alcohol-free weissbier. Bizarre how bad this is, it seems they must have surely gone out of their way to make it less flavoursome. Downrate. August 1st 2016: 500ml bottle. Pours hazy gold, medium white head that persists. Aroma is soft banana. Taste is initially murky banana yeast & light cloves that fade with faint metallic and cardboard notes taking their place. Its hefeweizen yeast does stick around but it seems a little tired. Not a great example of the style.
3.2 On-tap at a biergarten in Schwangau. Pours cloudy yellow with a huge head. Aroma of fruity esters and banana, some spicy and citrus notes. Sweet, fruity, spicy, light tartness. Light-medium bodied, lively carbonation. Decent.
3.0 Keg @El Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo. 13-07-2015. Poor weizen, a bit wateery, some cereal nose, citrusy nose, sweet palated.
3.6 Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bottle, best before June 24, 2016, poured into a glass. Hazy golden with medium white head. Aroma is banana, medium body, medium/low carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is banana and a little clove.
2.6 Draught @ Kaelderkold, Barcelona. Pours cloudy dark yellow with an offwhite head. Aorma of malt, yeast, caramel, bread, sweet fruit, banana. Flavor is rather sweet, wheat, yeasty, caramel, sweet fruity. Medium body, lively carboantion, sweet finish. 270416
