An epic brew from Achilles, a red-brown rich and malty masterpiece with just a dash of hoppy bitterness for balance.

3.1Not the actual tripel in this range but still a tripel-like beer, with a cream white, decreasing, thin head and warm ’old gold’ colour; bready and doughy character, fruity (apple, peach), some weak honeyish sweetness, yeasty with mild spiciness, but solvents as well. Not the masterpiece as claimed above, but more than acceptable.
3.7Clear amber color, minimal head. Aroma of caramel, pear, liquor, fruit tart. Taste is rather sweet but well balanced, with a warming alcohol feeling in the aftertaste, and a long finish. Nice!

3.4Bijna helder, donker amberkleurig, kleine licht crèmekleurige kraag. Combinatie van mout, caramel en fruitige hop.
3.7Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Mostly hazy orange color. Thin ring of white head. Couple dots of lace. Interesting aroma. Like orange cream candy. Orange, some vanilla, light spice. Moderate sweet taste, light spicy. Light nice bit of alcohol warmth. Solid, satisfying belgian strong ale.
3.5Spicy and herbal darkish beer. With a malty and slightly fruity body and a bit of hops.
2.7Small head almost non, orange chestnut like colour, sweet peach like smell, high carbonation peppery low to medium bitter, sweet peaches cant really place it vanilla sour like taste
3.3Bottle 330 ml
Appearance: dark clear orange , with a two fingers of off-white head., with a good retention.
Aroma: Grainy, a lot of caramelised malts, esters, confit fruit, with a bit of alcohol.
Taste : sweet fruits (apricots) and very malty as well, still smooth drinkable for it ’s sweetness. Some bitterness in the aftertaste.
Medium to full body, good carbonation.
1er brassin … si on préfère...
3.633cl Bottle at Tripel, A’dam. Clear amber with a reddish hue, white head. Aroma of confit fruit, raspberry candy, alcohol, esters, sweet malts, marzipan. Flavour is quite sweet, malty, confit fruit, hint of marmalade, candy, sharp glue-ish alcohol, decent malty bitter finish with some caramel and marzipan, something metallic. Medium to full-bodied. Nice beer.
3.4Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a trappist glass. ABV 9%
Pours a dark orange in colour beer, with two full fingers of off-white head. Body is clear with nice activity in it. Head has a good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass after it has collapsed.
Aroma is grainyand very malty with obvious alcohol in it.
Taste is sweet and very malty as well, but in spite of the sweetness is smooth and very drinkable. A touch of bitterness at the end and on the aftertaste. The alcohol here very well hidden. After it warms up the little grainy notes on the taste seem to disappear and get replaced by fruity notes of peaches and ripe stone fruits, some spices too.
Medium to full body, good carbonation.
Overall a good beer, needs some time to breath in order to shine.
3.1Aroma: Caramel, malt, bit hoppy, no big nose Appearance: Amber, orange clear white disappearing head, little fizz, hazy Taste: Malts, hint of caramel, light body, light bitter finish
3.5Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Medium sized vast but very quick disappearing white foamy head on top of a cloudy yellow orange colored beer.
Aromas of tangerine and some other fruits, cream, yeast, marzepin, light soap tints and some hay.
Flavours of malts, cream, porridge, bitters, yeast, some marzepin, strange bitters, barleys, light wood ish tones, bread, hay and grains.
Aftertaste is malty, porridge, light creamy, grains and corn with a strange bitterness.
Low carbo, soft creay close tomsilky mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture.
3.0Bottle dated 03/08/2013. Aroma: Butterscotch liqueur, orange marmalade, boozy and hot overall. Appearance: Unfiltered copper with bubbly white head. Flavor: Matches the nose; brute force in terms of alcohol. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: A bit unrefined at this point; may round out with age.
3.4Bottle at the parentals with Nik da Sneak. Pour is clear orange with a frothy white head that quickly dissipated. Fruity, lightly spicy, dark fruits, a touch of pineapple, orange peel, caramel, bready, and doughy aroma. Taste is slightly vegetal, caramel, bready, black pepper, dark fruits, floral, sweet malty, and grassy with a lightly spicy/bitter finish. Slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Decent, but nothing to get excited about, although, you can easily get buzzed quick off this stuff.
3.82013 - 08 - 23 330ml bottle. amber-dark ornge colour. foams out of bottle, medium, white head in glass. complex woody, herbale aroma, hint of banana, alcohol present. bit bitter taste. warming palate.
2.7Pours a golden beer with a good white head. Way to sweet. Not nice. I hoped for more.
Senza pretese.
2.8Bottle sample.
Clear amber with a nice white head.
Fruity nose (grapes) with some yeast.
Sweet flavor of muscat, malts and low bitterness.
Medium bodied and lively, so so.
3.2Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Hansen & Zita for this bottle! Pours orange with a nice head, aroma of grapes, wort, apricot jam and figs, flavor of honey, caramel and dried fruits, medium bodied
3.3Bottle shared at a tasting at the Dancing Came. Thanks Hansen & Zita for this bottle! Light tea colour, clear, no head. Raspberry, a little sour aroma, then sugar candy. Sweet taste, a little honey, candy too, nice. Light body, ok fizz, long finish. Sticky, but nonetheless I like it.
2.1Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Hansen & Zita for this bottle! Clear amber. Weird sweet aroma with malt, cookies, fruits, a bit of graininess, alcohol, a bit of oxidation and somewhat strange I can’t put my finger on. Sweet malty flavor with fruits, a bit of cardboard and alcohol. Medium-bodied. Pretty un-enjoyable.
