Adnams Ghost Ship (Bottle/Can)

Adnams Ghost Ship (Bottle/Can)

Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell. Brewed with a selection of malts - Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara. We use Citra, and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours. Bronze Medal Winner at The International Brewing Awards 2013, Silver Medal winner at the 2014 International Beer Challenge and Gold Medal Winner at The Indie Beer Can Awards 2014 (Contains barley & rye).
Available (pasteurised) in 500ml bottles and 440ml cans.

3.7 Bottle. Clear dark gold/orange with a decent white head. Aroma of citrus fruits just as promised. Taste of lemons, malts, biscuits, a little bit of black tea and rye-y spiciness. Dry finish and adequate bitterness. Medium carbonation. Soft but sufficient mouthfeel. Citrus fruits keep lingering on. Nice, easy and refreshing.
3.0 The label design adds some character to this beer. Pours dark amber with small head. Flavour is malty, woody, lemon peel, and bitter hops. Slightly harsh and skunky (from a can). Fairly smooth mouthfeel.
3.4 AR: Hopfen Frucht, Citrus, blumig, AP: klares bernstein/kupfer TA: Hopfen, Frucht, Zitrus, kräuterig, bitter,
3.6 Nice packaging, spooky, haunted pub 600 years old, good colour palette blue, yellow, black, golden looks, malty citrusy nose, bright bold hoppy lemon taste, balanced malts, dry bitter finish, chewy texture, medium mouthfeel, well balanced hops/malt, abv 4.5% decent, can drink a couple.
3.1 Bottle. Clear amber. White head. Citrus hops, soapy. Medium roasted malts, mildly nutty, maybe a little caramel. Moderate bitterness. Alright.
3.4 Dark golden colour. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus and moderate pineapple. Has a very soft mouthfeel and a very malty and biscuity taste with a very citrusy and bitter aftertaste. Quite refreshing and easy drinking pale ale.

3.3 Can from Blackhaddock, thanks: pours deep gold with a white head. Aroma is light citrus, biscuit. Taste is lightly bitter, smooth citrus and maltiness.
3.3 500ml bottle. Clear, orange golden colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Grassy and citrusy, minimalyl piney, hoppy aroma, notes of lemon tea, a touch of grapefruit and lemon, pale and caramel malty background. Taste is slightly dry, piney and citrusy, slightly grassy and minimally leafy hoppy, hints of lemon tea, instant lemon tea, a touch of black tea, caramel and pale malty basis with little residual sweetness and a minimally spicy touch. Minimally oily, watery texture, slightly dry palate, fine and soft carbonation. Clean, balanced, drinkable - nice.
3.4 On the amber side of blonde. A crisp, refreshing pale ale with gentle citrus, certainly not overpowering. Hard to identify the hops but a good, balanced, drinkable brew. (It can't be only Citra as I wouldn't be keen - maybe Cascade plus Citra?) Rather good overall. Definitely worth a go. Well done Adnams!
3.5 Stockpile from 7-11's summer beer campaign; can is 440ml. Aroma: citrus, some over-ripe pineapple. Appearance: clear dark amber, one finger of very inviting-looking cream. Palate: light-bodied and slick, average carbonation, rather astringent finish. Taste: medium bitter with sweet notes, citrus is subtle, some cream crackers. Well-balanced and enjoyable.
3.3 Bottle on the train back from Inverness, thanks to Timmy, 11/10/21. Clear golden amber with a decent off white head. Nose is malt forward, orange peel, citruc zest, light perfume. Taste comprises orange peel, caramel, fruit slice, light breads, perfume. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with mellow hop bitterness. OK pale.
3.3 Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Orange colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.
4.0 44IBU + citrus ale
3.2 Bottle. Nice summer day thirst quencher. Hoppy, slight bitterness, citrus, not evident to me. Decent.
3.5 Bottle from my local off-licence ‘Wine Rack’. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of pink grapefruit, peach and lychee with a touch of floral and spice. Taste has more grapefruit, peach, citrus pith, floral and peppery spice. Hoppy citrus bitterness on the finish. Thin to medium body, average carbonation and oily mouthfeel. Quite a nice refreshing summery beer.
3.3 500ml bottle. Pours dark orange with a medium head. Aroma is toffee and citrus. Taste is bready dried fruits with a citrus finish.
2.5 Butelka 500ml.
3.6 Copenhagen 24/7 2021. 44 cl can from Meny, Vermlandsgade, Kbh. S. A Ghost Ship with torn sails drifting on the ocean on a blue can. Very maritime. Pours clear, golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin but frothy layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruity odor and sweet malts with a light whiff of citric scents. Peach and orange marmalade. Caramel and hints of toffee. Citrus and lime. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, smooth, almost flat texture. Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a dry bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry. Quite pleasant and easily drinkable British Blonde with a light bitter bite.
2.9 7-11, beers of the summer (Taipei). Actually reminds me a little of Sam Adams. Sharp and fruity, with a hoppy punch. Nose is wet dog with some solid citra hops. Fleeting head, no lacing. Colour is very dehydrated urine..almost orange. Very nice dry, hoppy taste. I get marmalade and grapefruit and a decisive citra hop. Nice beer but not as good as the bottled version I remember from a few years back.
2.2 500ml bottle from Tesco, bb 04/2022 Amber, crystal clear, off-white head. Nose - citrus, bread, all weak. Taste - bitter, metallic. No.
3.3 Can @ Hiking w friends/Boilermaker. Appearance: pours clear golden/amber with good white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, light elder flower, citrus, wheat and light tropical fruits. palette: medium hoppy aroma, average carbonation, medium body, medium sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average duration, light dry finish and a watery texture. Overall: refreshing ale
2.9 Old rating from 2014 - 500ml bottle, pours amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of citrus, melon, stone fruit, earth, herbs, biscuit, bread, pine & malt. Moderate body. Dry slightly bitter finish

3.6 Dejlig frisk cirtrus IPA
3.4 500ml bottle at home. Poured clear gold white head. Decent citrus hopped beer this. Easy drinking.
4.1 500ml bottle brewed in England at 4.5%. Clear light orange metal with a generous, good-duration head. Lovely orange and mango aroma, surprisingly potent, hint of robust white bread beneath. Moderate carbonation and texture. Tangy blood orange, mango, tangerine and fluffy brown bread with crusts attached. Sweet but with a dry bitterness, almost spicy in the finish, just the right side of metallic. Fruity and multifaceted. Very impressive. Hints of an ESB lurking in this Pale, aided by the Rye. 'Craft' quality - or close to it, in a 500ml £1.50 supermarket offering.
3.3 Pours amber with a fading head. Nose shows orange peel, bready malt and orange marmalade. Flavours include orange peel, grainy malt, soft caramel and a refreshing bitterness.
3.6 From can (BB Feb'21) in shaker. Pours near clear golden amber w/fluffy white head, aroma of light pine & citrus. Refreshing, fruity, easy drinking w/restrained bitterness & spice in tail. A nice session beer.
