Adriaen Brouwer Oaked

Adriaen Brouwer Oaked

Adriaen Brouwer Oaked is a beautifully balanced dark brown degustation beer that has been matured in the wood of sherry and whisky barrels. Adriaen Brouwer Oaked has become a permanent addition to the Adriaen Brouwer range and is 100% organic.

The Adriaen Brouwer Tripel and Oaked are both organic beers. This means that all ingredients used to brew the beer are grown organically... and that’s a first for the brewery that has existed since 1545.

3.3 33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Coop, Culemborg. Clear dark brown with a big tan head. Dark caramel and dark fruit aroma. Sweet taste with a sweet finish. Body is a bit thin for a 10% ABV beer but otherwise it's decent and very Belgian.
4.0 Pours dark brown with a small head. Nose shows sherry, sultanas, cola, brown sugar, woody oak, a bit of booze. Flavours include brown sugar, treacle, golden syrup, soft booze.
3.3 Clear dark red brown, big mahogany lasting, lacing foam head. Sweet, strong aroma, taste is sweet barley, heavy. (Velp 2205)
3.9 Appearance: Cloudy deep bronze with a good head. Aroma and taste: Caramel, toast, Belgian yeast, candy, dried apples and pears, brown sugar. moderate oak barrel, grassy hop. Light sweet and bitter. Moth feel: Medium plus body, average carbonation. Summary: Goos stuff.
4.1 Oooh boy this was a tasty one. Smooth and sweet, but somehow light and with a spicy, silghtly dry finish. Solid as heck. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.
4.0 Kastanjebruin helder bier met dichte, lichtbeige schuimkraag. Moutig, karamel, toffee, rood fruit, alcohol. Zoet en vol, boozy. Lekker hoor.
Copa tipo tulipa.

4.0 330ml bottle with BB 21/3/22. Murky brown pour with a dense large tan head showing excellent retention. Complex nose bursts dark malts, brown sugar, raisins, cherries, hints of marzipan and cask sherry. Rich creamy smooth palate with plenty of dried fruitiness, soft spiciness, sugar there but not cloying, low bitterness, hints of wood. Lowish carbonation. A rich and fulfilling Belgian strong ale.
Sterk in alcohol.
Online via Mitra.
3.5 Kleur donkerroodbruin met schuimkraag die snel verdwijnd. Goede Quadruple met lange nasmaak
4.6 Fantastic strong Belgium beer. Beer has been matured in the wood of sherry and whisky barrels. Sticky, nice sweetness, malty and fruity. A great beer.
Zeer geslaagd.
3.8 Copenhagen 6/2 2021. 33 cl bottle from Belgisk Bryg, Emdrup Mosevej, Kbh. NV. Painting of grumpy-looking Conquistador-type on the label. Pours unclear maroon with a red hue. Big off-white, yellow-ish head. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is intense with a sweet, dark, malty odor, dark alcohol and a light fruity tart scent. Toffee, caramel, brown sugar. Plums and raisins. fermented. Liqueur-like sweet boozy whiff. Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Finish is boozy and sweet. Potent, sweet and boozy without being cloying. Almost brings a Barley wine to mind.
4.1 Bottle from BIAB, drink on the last full day of the orange idiot's presidency. Yeah I needed a ten percenter. Medium brown, big frothy head, brown sugar and slightly spicy yeast on the nose. Flavor is like a bready, airy molasses Christmas cookie. High carb spreads the aroma around your whole mouth. Nice complex shortbread biscuit notes. The hint of butterscotch is welcome in this case. Sweet but decently balanced with mid bitterness and probably a wee bit of oak tannins. What a great beer!
3.7 According to their website Belgian Bio Beer that has aged on oak from whisky and sherrycasks. Pours ruby/brown with off white retaining head. The (according to website) impressive nose doesn’t do much for me to be honest. Smells like old wood with a hint of caramel. Fortunatelly the palate is way better with a medium creamy mouthfeel and caramel, malt, oak and a little bitter/sweet. Nice balance. Whisky and sherry nowhere to be found though..
4.1 Zeer lekker bier, smaakt naar nog
3.8 Tast nice. Malty en wood, but not too much. No dry aftertaste, easy to drink 😉. @home bottle bought in Delhaize. Belgium biobeer.
4.1 This 33 cl bottle was obtained from the much appreciated belgiuminabox.com site, simply the best route to pick up Belgian beers from my perspective. My New Belgium snifter draws the duty this evening as I pull the cap and pour. The body is caramel colored with an enormous head of pale tan foam. It gives off a nice scent of dried fruit, multi-grain bread and hay. And the drink only goes better than that, raisin bread, dates, toffee, hard candy and cereal. Expectations were low on this beer and the results significantly exceeded those. Tasty.
3.7 Bottle. Brownish coloured beer with a very strong light brown coloured head. The aroma is lightly spiced and malty, the flavour is malty and spiced with gentle roastedness. Overall a nice strong Belgian ale.
4.0 Fles 33cl thuis. Eik, hout, zuurtonen, licht vineus, pruim, donker fruit, wat kers, rozijn, zoeten, warm, caramel, licht boozy. (18-10-2020).
4.7 Taken during a nice supper in family, the nephew declined (fantastic!), once again, trying beer is all about these greater find, not much to criticize on this one, I really enjoyed everything. Matched with home-made hamburgers, success!
Dark brown with a big white head. Aroma: Lots of oak, caramel, raisins, plum and some cherries. Taste: Sweet with some fruit sourness. Low bitterness.
4.1 Malty, raisins, liquior aroma and a sweet caramel, forest fruits, rum, slighty boozy taste. Very good complex beer.
3.6 Rare beer. A little unclassifiable. I didn't find him a great beer. If it is a Belgian beer, the Belgian craft behind the beer is very noticeable. But you have something indefinable that makes it a little unclassifiable
3.7 33cl bottle from Delhaize Chazal in Brussels. F: huge, tanned, good retention. C: brown with coppery hue against the light, hazy. A: rich malty, bit woody chips, dark dried fruits, caramel, rum touch, raisins, banana. T: full malty base, sweet dried fruits, raisins, dates, caramel, bit woody, vanilla touch, decent bitterness, soft carbonation, classic for the style not great but very enjoyable for sure.
