2.4330 ml can with 360 End bought at YATA in YOHO Mall, Yuen Long.
Looks: Clear golden honey with a cloud of misty yeast particlesHalf finger head with soapy white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Very good sticky lacing with active slight carbonation.
Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet malt, with strong wheat tartness, strong orange peel, coriander, strong phenolic, pineapples, citrus, floral, sugar, strong spices, earth, biscuits, lemon and grass.
Taste: Mid to strong sweet Ale malt, with fair wheaty tartness, strong alcohol and liquorices, very strong orange peels, coriander, grapefruits, floral, strong molasses, strong herbs, spices, earth, dough, lemon, very strong grassy bitter hops.
Body: Full body. Oily and very astringent palate.
Mouth Feel: Strong Ale maltyness in a fairly viscous background. Very immense orange peel, alcohol and liquorices stuffed just about everything else, as if this is a orange liquor. Very notable grapefruit hops and coriander, flowery with pretty strong sweetness couldn't overcome the overpowering bitterness. Very herbal spicy with strong lemon to round. Too strong but going nowhere!
Hoppiness: Pineapples, citrus, floral, strong spices, earth, lemon and grass in nose. Grapefruits, floral, strong herbs, spices, earth, lemon, and strong grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, very high astringent bitter-sweet boozy malty finish.
After Taste: Quite dry. Very herbal boozy and insanely bitter to mouth.
Comments: With a nice tropical/spicy aroma and heavy dose of orange peels and coriander in the mix, this one should have been great. Instead, the booze and bitterness gone off the rail, the strong orange peels and phenolic spices are close to nasty, and the strong citrusy hops was pale by comparison. Totally unbalanced, an ambitious project which went horribly wrong. Never again!
