Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. It’s math.
This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angel’s Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You don’t swim in this beer, it swims in you!

Courtesy of bergstaden Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, oak, vanilla, bourbon and alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, chocolate, molasses, oak, vanilla and brown sugar finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
4.2Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter nice bourbon flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Great.
4.1Black with a brown head - Roasted malt aroma with some bourbon - Dark malt body with some charred wood from barrel and with some vanilla and dark fruity flavours with coffee and chocolate - The dark malty flavours with some vanilla and wood goes into the finish - This was real good
4.3The aroma is a medium light bourbon, some coffee, dates/figs. Pours a dark brown with amber hue, big tan head, mostly diminishing and very good lacing. The taste is a medium bitter. The body is full, the carbonation good, the texture creamy and the finish long.
3.775 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head. Arom and flavour are roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon - with a slightly roasted finish.
Piwo do sączenia godzinami. Umiar wskazany.
3.7Solsletta 290919 shared by bergstaden . Black color with no head. Aroma is licorice, alcohol, roasted malt. Flavor is licorice, alcohol, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, molasses, dried fruits. Nice beer.
3.8Deep dark roast and molasses. Jet deep brown black with a rich small brown head. Dark chocolate, molasses and some heat.
3.8Bottle, 75cl, kindly shared by bergstaden. A really dark brown beer, with a small, dense, light tan head. The aroma is quite lightly alcoholic considering the ABV, with roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, some booze and brown sugar. It's full-bodied, lightly warming and softly carbonated, with a good dash of sweetness in the flavor. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, brown sugar, molasses notes and a touch of dried fruits in the flavor. Caramel notes. Lasting finish with a good dash of sweetness and a pleasant boozy touch. Nice, and impressively little alcohol considering it's at 13.1%. 190929
3.6Draught, 13%. Vanilla aroma. Black colour. Creamy dark brown colour. Roasted and very sweet flavour. Good vanilla note. Good but too sweet for me.
3.5Draft at beertemple. Aroma of milk chocolate, licorice, lactose, malt, vanilla and booze. Taste has milk chocolate, licorice, vanilla, sweet lactose and lots of malt. Too much lactose for me.
4.1Draft 0.15l at BeerTemple, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 07.08.2019. Pour it dark color with small brown head. Aroma bourbon, vanilla, tobacco. Taste thick, light coffee flavor, bourbon booze, leather, slick sweet finish, full body, long after taste. Really good one.
3.9Tap at BeerTemple, 7th August 19. Pours thick and black. Aroma is chocolate, barrel. Mouth feel is full and the taste is rich, some sweet, some bitterness, cocoa and barrel, didn’t get so much liquor
4.1Tap shared with Kermis.
Thin beige head. Clear black pour. Lovely bourbon. Otes
4.6Sample at Opaque Vol. 4 at the Draft Room on 7/12/19. Black pour with a thick light brown head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, licorice, bourbon, roast and vanilla. Sweet malt and chocolate flavor giving way to vanilla, licorice and roast before a bourbon and rich chocolate finish.
3.9A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light dark fruits and soy sauce, alcohol warmth, bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, very nice and rich. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate, vanilla, bourbon barrel, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. On tap at Stadium location.
3.8Svart. Mokkafarget skum langs glasset. Aroma av nøtter & lakris. Smaken nøtter. Sjokolade etter hvert. Søt lakris i avslutningen. Alkoholen veldig godt kamuflert.

3.3Draught at The Small Bar, Bristol. Black with tan head. I got a heavy medicinal character off this, earthy dark roasted malts, full palate. The beer tasted a little of linctus cough mixture for me. Struggled with it rather but it came through reasonably.
3.6Bottle Amy got on a road trip that's been aging for 6-9 months. Classic dark brown pour with a brown ring on bubbles. Aroma is tart cherries and dark sweet malt. The flavor is boozy with toffee and a hint of bitterness. Booze lingers. Okay overall. Definitely a sipper.
3.36oz pour in Original Gravity. Smells sweet and strong. Tastes like dates and raisins with a nice smoothness. Nice beer!
4.5Found this beer on tap in Gateshead of all places. “It’s rather strong” I was warned, but persevered. What I found was not so much an Imperial Stout but a smooth sweet milky heaven of a beer that didn’t deserve to be hidden among the swill on the taps adjacent. Yes it is 13%. Yes it is delicious. Yes I have written this after having had 1/3 pint of it. Do yourself a favour, if you like strong beers of the dark variety, try this. It is like faeries dancing on your taste buds whilst satyrs play their flutes and nymphs dance. My only warning would be the sweetness. It is very sweet with almost no coffee notes or toasted grain.
4.2Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout (Amburana Wood?)
750mL bottle from Carwyn Cellars
13%abv no date stamp?
Slow pour, thick yet not quite sump oil like, forms a fair sized deep brown tan leather coloured head that holds & leaves lace and legs in its wake.
Wow the nose on this thing is immense! What gets me first is what I'd describe like a burnt chocolate brownie (crust) character, richly chocolately, dark caramel, toasted wood & coconu, cinnamon get sort of vinous dark fruits & boozy bourbony vanilla undertones, charry, charcoally, smoky underlying it all.
She grabs on & holds from the get go - very thick at first then the boozy dries things out, warms and lengthens it with a toasty woody tannin & lingering drying bitterness.
Like a party going on the palate - everything at once, yet very distinct flavours cutting through - vanilla, nutmeg/cinnamon spice, toasted coconut, roast nuts, cocoa dusted brownies, dark brown sugar, more Bourbon, some raisins & sultanas, some vinous blackberry. It's sweet and sticky yet balanced and lingering and succulent (maybe not!?), toasty woody finish, lots of spice and warmth.
Seriously tremendous - opens out with more and more of that oaken woody spice as it warms. Up there with the likes of KBS & Ten FIDY BA - maybe not as brutal but the barrel character has a real well defined spiciness that really ties everything together very nicely!
3.9On tap at Champps in Brookfield. Pours a dark brown with a brown head. Aroma has vanilla, caramel, some roast and chocolate. Thick and solid. Taste adds lactose and dark fruit, to the detriment. Even gets more cottage cheesy down through the glass - with bourbon - which is interesting. Medium to full bodied, the blend is good but deteriorates, and there is an alcohol presence. Finishes to the sweet side of bittersweet. This starts really nicely, but is not as good near the end. 14.3
3.8Draft at City Beer. Black and thick with a minimal brown head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, bourbon, oak. Flavor is sweet, chocolatey, little hot. Smooth, slick, extremely full body, a bit much after awhile. Decent though.
4.0Keg at The Bottle Shop, Bermondsey, London in Aug 2018 - Opaque black in colour. Small creamy tan head. Sweet bourbon and chocolate aroma. Very malty; dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oaky, molasses, roasty malts, toffee, coconut. Fruity; dark fruits, raisins. Bit spicy. Sweet bourbon and chocolate roast malty throughout. Terrific Impy Stout. Enjoyed this. (2018-08)
4.1Pours like treacle with a thick bubbly light brown head that left a good cover on a very dark brown body.
Huge aroma of liquorice, brown sugar, sweet dark spirits, treacle & honey.
Full bodied, thick & viscous on the palate with a tingly sticky finish.
Taste is so similar to the aroma with demerara, liquorice, treacle & honey followed by very slight tinge of sweet citrus & peach
4.2Pours a very dark brown with a short deep reddish-brown head. Chocolate and BBQ’d steak aromas. Chewy thick. Nice sweetness, but not overdone. BBQ beef, brown sugar, and chocolate flavors.
3.8Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a small foamy beige head that left no lacing. The aroma was sweet chocolate, caramel, rum and cola. The flavor was boozy with chocolate, caramel, rum and dark fruits. Very long booze and chocolate finish. Full bodied.
