3.7 It has a strong fruity flavor and aroma that is described as resembling wine, grapes or berries. Some tropical and passion fruit.
3.5 On tap @ District Tap House. This is a cloudy one, darkish golden in color and a lacing just off-white head on the top. Mild peachy sweet nose. There’s definitely a good amount of melony hops in this. Honey and water of the kind. Nice to smell at. It’s good oily in the mouth and it’s just above average on the carbonation. Fruit and and kinda sweet in a way. There’s peach, dragon fruit and traces of plum. Gently bitterrd. Quenchable and not bad tasting at all. 13.06.2015
3.3 Pours a lightly hazy rust orange with white head. A wine-like aroma with some citrus. A whit wine taste with citrus hop, pine and fruit. Not too hoppy - note of a dry wine and sweet fruit afteraste.
3.8 Had a can at home while watching La La Land (it's presh btw don't judge). It's weird that on here it says this is an IPA but on the can it says Double IPA - someone here is wrong and I don't think it's Rico. I know this is going to sound snooty but I feel like I can taste the Sauvignon Blanc! Not very hoppy but a good malt-based taste.
3.8 Aromas a fruta madura y tropicales Buen aspecto muy cristalina espuma persistencia media. EN boca fruta madura y final seco y frutal ligeramente maltosa
3.3 16oz can picked up at Total Wine in LV Pours clear dark golden with a medium sized off-white head, good lacing. Aroma is fruity, bisquity, caramel and pine. Flavor is fruity, grapes, caramel and pine resin, dry finish Good but I wouldn’t look for it again.
3.6 Pours orange Amber from can. Recently burst of tropical fruits. Juicy finish.
3.2 Pours from 16 oz can golden to clear Amber with tight 1 inch head. Aroma is tropical fruit and grape must. Flavor is more tropical fruit, pineapple, not bitter at all. Feeling the grape flavors but needs more hops in the fermenter to add the citrus. Wouldn’t search out another.
3.6 Sampled at Lupulin. Deep honey gold. Harsh to being and quite hold. Big bitter. Softer hops are almost buried in big grapefruit. A warmer.
3.7 4/12/16. On tap at Craft on Draft. Orange pour with a nice khaki head. Nice aroma, fruity, tropical, mild dankness, citrus, white wine. Good flavor, mildly bitter, hoppy, some citrus and fruitiness. Not bad.
3.6 650ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Piney and fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of white grapes, some gooseberry, a citrusy touch, caramel malty basis. Taste is dry, fruity hoppy, minimally citrusy, notes of white grapes, hints of gooseberry, a touch of eucalyptus, woodruff, caramel malty basis with low residual sweetness; super-smooth and soft palate. Very mild, integrated and harmonious.
4.5 I’ts one of the best beers that I’ve ever had. I can’t describe it properly due It’s long thime that I’ve tasted it but I remember the emotion that caused on me.
Compleja. Alcohol bien integrado. Un cervezón! BB 2017-12
3.5 Can from Gambrinus. Light citrus and pine on the nose. Light body with muted carbonation on the palate. More citrus, pine and toasted caramel. Nelson is pretty subduded...I’m assuming this was an old can. Still enjoyable, but couldn’t find my good friend Nelson.
3.5 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
4.2 Average foamy off-white head with good retention. slightly hazy orange light amber colour. Aroma is very interesting fruity (grape and mango), some candy and citrus. Taste is complex, strongly malty, bitter, grapefruit and hoppy piny. Grapefruit peel bitter and crispy finish. A great IPA!
3.9 Can. The beer has got a hazy amber colour with a steady head and medium body. Aroma of hops and pine. Taste of hops, citrus zest, pine, herbs, woods, flowers, spices and biscuits. Hoppy finish.
3.5 Deep copper pour with a white head. Big passion fruit in the aroma. Even bitterness with a touch of sweetness in the finish.
3.4 Can. A- Subtle pine, subtle white wine, tropical citrus fruit. A- Orange color, clear liquid, white head. T- Tropical fruits, slightly bitter, juicy, grapes, white wine, caramel. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Better than I thought. Might be over 8% but drinks like 4%. Lots of subtle nuances in the aroma and taste. It all blends so well it’s really hard to pick out any one flavor. Good work here.
3.6 Can 50cl / Lata 50cl. @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, España. A: Hazy golden / Dorado turbio. T/S: Hops, fruity, citrusy / Lupulo, afrutado, citrico.
3.5 Shared with Brendan at Torst. Pours an amber body with soft white lacing. Nose is grass. Mouthfeel is watery with notes of fruity hops, fresh grass and citrus hop profile. Decent.
3.8 Hazy orange pour with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruits and toffee. Taste is sweet tropical fruits, toffee, grapefruit, and light pine. Lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Medium body. Very smooth.
2.8 Canned version from Julio’s. A light golden amber thin lacy off white head. Sweet earthy aromas. Flavor is soft and fruity but not exciting at all. Dry breadiness in the middle. Light fruity sweet bitter finish. I am disappointed.
4.7 There have been IPA’s that put Nelson Sauvin at the front and center. What makes Rico Sauvin so special? Well... While many Nelson-forward IPA’s have focused on the citrusy character and retained a certain West Coast attitude, Against the Grain’s brew brings out more of the sweet and vinous parts of the cone. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still a big tropical note in the aroma (fresh grapefruit, pear, and pineapple) but there’s a wet note of grape must, too. Flavor carries forward grape juiciness. Along with it, it brings berry, orange, tangerine, mango, grapefruit, and stone fruit. This deserves to be recognized right up there with Alpine Nelson. Not kidding.
4.5 Pours a hazy copper with a long-lasting white foam head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruits, grape, and passion fruit. Flavor is tropical fruits, passion fruit, grape, and some caramel malts. Has some bitterness and a nice creamy texture. Very impressive.
3.8 Bottle (from firma bier). Pours amber with whiteish head. The head stays. Aroma is fruity, nelson sauvin hops, citrus, mango. Flavor is sweet and bitter, citrus, grapefruit, mango, passion fruit. Finish is passion fruit sweetness and grapefruit bitterness. Overall: very good.
3.5 I’m never one to turn down a Nelson single-hop. Clear gold pour, modest head, flimsy lacing. Nose is unmistakable, little bit of cereal malt, sweet earthy funk of "gooseberries", herbal and bright Sauvignon blanc, lemon, melon, pineapple, passionfruit. Slightly sweet flavor, candied tangerine, lemon zest, grape must, green floral linger. The more I drink, the more I like. Very nice dimension on the nose.
