3.6 12oz bottle. Offwhite-yellow. A-citrus/some pine. T-citrus/some pine hops with some bite, 2nd lt malt with some sweet.
3.6 12fl oz bottle poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint. Very cloudy orange with a thick creamy cap. Vanilla and biscuit notes with a moderate hops kick. Thick full body. Quite tasty.
3.8 Pours a clear copper-gold, with middling head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor is very bitter, all pine and citrus, with a bitter finish. Pretty darn good.
3.6 Bottle in La Crosse, WI. Hoppy strawberry and pine and apricot aroma in front of a little caramel malt. Slightly hazy copper under a lasting white collar and thin wisps. Hoppy pine resin flavour with stone fruit and strawberry. Medium bitterness in good balance with malty backbone. Medium body, medium carbonation, crisp.
3.5 Eleven separate additions of cascade hops give this American pale ale its lush citrus aroma and bold hop flavor without crazy bitterness.
3.6 Bottle pour, though I’ve had this on tap at brewery before. Medium gold color - one finger white head that recedes quickly...little lacing. Aroma is citrusy - orange in particular...hint of resin - not overpowering, and quite enjoyable. Flavor is generally citrus hops...very mild bitterness (so bonus point as I see this was the brewer’s goal). Palate is medium bodied - seems appropriate for the drink. Could session this pretty easily. Nice offering - wont’ overwhelm you, but easy go-to beer that I’ll definitely enjoy again.
3.0 An average pale ale that is heavily hopped. Nothing special. But at the same time still drinkable.
3.6 Pours a hazy golden orange with a white head that settles to a film with great lacing. Pleasant orange citrus aroma with a bit of leafy green and hint of vanilla, like an orange toffee candy. Taste has juicy citrus and a floral character. A bit of malt sweetness co Es through along with a soft and somewhat chalky bitterness. Finishes mostly dry with the mild bitterness slowly building. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice orangey citrus flavors and aroma.
3.6 Hazy golden color, medium off white head. Aroma has earthy, woody hops. Taste is earthy, almost dank, light fruit, pine. Easy drinking.
3.2 On tap at the UW student union pours murky orange with some creamy white head. Nose is solid, orange and tangerine, soap, mild candy and honey. Flavor is a bit on the sweet side, creamcicle, tangerine, soap, bubblegum. Lightly sweet finish.
3.1 Bottled. Clark cloudy brown. Smells malty. Taste complements that smell. Malty IPA. Has a nice nutty malt taste. With a pine hop after taste.
4.0 bottle shared with hakes at club w, smoked catfish night at the DUB, holy moly this is a hidden gem i diddnt even know i had in the fridge, got this on my last snowmobile trip in the UP... cloudy bright orange pour with thin white head, clead cascade hoppy aroma and taste, this is delecious
3.2 Bottle. A golden color with a strong citrus hop aroma and taste. Hoppy with a bitter finish.
3.8 Tap at Spears. Amber with a lasting off-white head. Honey, ritz crackers, mango and apricot. Balanced flavor with a fruity bitterness. Body is medium with a foamy feel.
3.1 Bottle at Lucky Owl. Pours hazy dark orange with frothy off white head. Some lacing. Nose is faint, some earthy hops and not much else. Citrus, grain, some green notes and some lingering bitterness. Not terribly good at this point as I hope it's better fresh
3.6 12 oz bottle pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of malts, citrus and resin. Taste is malts and pine.
3.4 Pours golden with a thin ivory head. Aromas of citrus and piney resin; not overly complex. Taste is solid, tropical fruit and the slight bitterness of the hops. A year ago I would've thought this was amazing; today it's kinda "meh".
3.3 12oz bottle, thanks to Chris R. Shared with Amy S. Date on bottle reads 8-20-15. Mostly clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Decent spread of lace. Medium-plus body, smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Mildly slick, then dry finish. Some earthy hops, bready sweet malt, touch of citrus. Moderate bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. An alright pale ale. Kind of like the ghost of a somewhat older IPA.
3.6 bottle shared that poured and orange color with white head. the nice pleasant aroma of hops was nice. trying to remember that this is an APA medium malt body nice hop flavor not overbearing at all. easy to drink. not fantastic but yet very good. overall this for an APA is very tasty. I could drink a lot of these.
3.8 Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a soapy off-white head that leaves sleeves of lacing on the glass. Aroma is potent sweet orange citrus hops. Mild bodied and somewhat dry with a bitter piney finish. Bitterness lingers, but is not overwhelming and encourages another sip. Nicely carbonated.
3.1 Pours a lightly hazed orange color with a creamy, off white head. Aroma has a very pronounced cascade hops nose - light citric acidity, strong orange fruit, light sweetness from the caramel malt. Flavor starts off with a good does of smooth cascade hoppiness but transitions into a light maris otter/munich toasted malt kick to go along with the malt sweetness. Body is modest with a very low carbonation rate. Overall an okay brew but really not much different from other cascade hopped brews. Not bad, not unique but done up well.
3.1 Really cloudy light brown/orange pour, short dense white head and lots of lacing. Lively carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, clean finish. Very pricey, resinous aroma. Flavor of strong nutty and Carmel malts, pine and a bit of tropical hops. Good nutty IPA but nothing to write home about.
3.7 On tap, poured into a shaker. The aroma is initially a dry pine with secondary notes of bread and is followed by the addition of juicy grapefruit and orange. It pours clear with an amber hue and a white soap head that has ok retention and moderate lace. The taste is a medium bitter front supported by a medium sweet tail. The oily beer is fuzzy with a medium body containing notes of pine, grapefruit, and bread crust. The finish is crisp pine with a bready character that then turns sweet tangerine. It’s clean with an aftertaste that has a bit of a cloying waxiness, but mostly pine notes.
3.7 12 oz bottle poured into standard pint glass. Mild hop aroma, hints of citrus. Appealing amber orange color. Next to no head. Lighly sweet and floral front end, followed by a long, progressively bitter (but not overly so for an American Pale Ale), finish. Heavy citrus notes throughout the tasting.
3.8 Super citrus aroma smooth, very little malt. Flavor is not overly bitter, but very full without being sweet or heavy. Finish is slightly bitter.
3.6 Hazy yellow with a whispy white head. Fresh grassy citrus aroma. Medium bodied and smooth well balanced
3.6 Golden orange pour with large bubbly white head and some stickiness. Based on the best by date, I believe this to be 3 months old. Lots of orange ans citrus in the aroma with some hints of minerals and nice malt undertones. Taste is some some bright citrus, mild bitterness, light caramel malts. I see borderline greatness with a fresher batch.
3.6 12 oz bottle, pours a dark slightly cloudy gold with minimal head. Subdued aroma of citrus and bready malt. Taste is pretty good, more juicy than bitter, with a touch of pepper and caramel malt. Pretty solid, and learning that Ale Asylum puts out some pretty good, consistent product. Love their Hefeweizen.....
3.3 Pours a cloudy olive amber with a decent head. Nose is slightly sweet, a bit alcohol. Flavor is sweet fruity and awesome. Pretty good.
3.5 Hazy light amber. Light caramel malt and earthy hops. Taste is buttery crackery malt and generous amount of spicy NW hops. Crisp and refreshing APA.
