Genialne.
3.9Can picked up from Beer Gonzo Webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at Cropredy, Fairport Conventions Annual Reunion, Cropredy, Oxon, Saturday 11th August 2018 Quite hefty in the mouth, a brutal hop bursts but with a sweetened. Streaky hops throughout, some crystal malt. This is a corker. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9
3.1The aroma is full of caramel malt, citrus, pine, grapefruit and grass. The color is hazy orange and the head is white and soapy. The taste is full of caramel malt, citrus, pine, grapefruit pith and grassy notes. A nice beer!
Postgusto resinoso duradero.
3.9Can. Golden color. Medium had. Clear. Aroma of caramel, citrus, slight pine. Medium bitterness. Nice caramel malt with smooth bitterness. Enjoyed this one.
3.7Pours a slightly hazy orange amber. Aroma of malt. Taste is malt forward with a good helping of hop flavor
3.5Bottle from Argonaut 9-9-2014
3.8Orange peel and pone aromas. Deep copper color with a light head. Exceptional mouthfeel. Delicious and hoppy. Lingers but not overpowering. Drank it on tap.
3.6Bottle. Grapefruit hop citrus aroma with notes of caramel malt, tropical fruit and pine resin. Pours cloudy golden colored with a huge off whitehead that has excellent retention but little lacing. Starts with caramel malt, tropical fruit and grapefruit hop flavors. Finishes dry with quite a bit of pine resiny hop bitterness that clings to the palate after each sip. Decent, but I think I need to try a fresher one.
4.0Pours a two finger white head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Hazy amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Grapefruit hop nose and flavor is grapefruit hops and some caramel. Higher ABV, 8.5% is hidden. $3.55 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.
4.2From Mar 2008
Now for the Summer 2008 version:
It pours a hazy orange amber with a 1 finger head of foam. There's some good lacing and the head retention is, once again, excellant.
The nose is big on the hops! Lots of floral and some citrus along with some fruitiness and there's a nice sweetish smell in the background from the malt.
The taste has the floral and citrus up front with some spiciness and a solid malt backbone. Very tasty and very smooth and it isn't exactly lax when it comes to drinkability... almost no warming after the swallow so the alcohol is well hidden.
Good thick mouthfeel and the carbonation is just a tad below medium. Overall, a great counter brew for the Winter version though for me, I prefer the Winter version. Both are great though and well worth seeking out again.
4.2Hops, hops, hops and hops. Some fruity aromas too. Solid bitternes well balanced with full body. Such a IPAs I like most.
4.3Ładnie się prezentuje, żółty kolor, biała piana. Aromat sredniomocny, przede wszystkim chmiel, żywica dalej owoce. W smaku owoce tropikalne, lekka słodycz przełamana wysoką goryczką. IIPA w stylu West coast
3.1Bottle. Strong nose, pith and a little tropical fruit, blase caramel, resin. Pour slightly hazy golden with a large and densely foamy yellow-beige head. Lot of lace. Taste surprsingly dry, not much resin there, medium bitterness but also surprisingly smooth with no jagged corners; sweetness low and builds slightly, but it's more the alcohol and slow warming that attracts notice. Has the caramel of a barleywine, lingers in a long finish, where one can look the bitterness in the eyes. Low floral / perfume. Bit gritty on a swish, some pith with the fruit, full body but not fat, just complete; still, it's mainly alcohol and a pervasive sense of smoothness that carry here. Do I have to try this on tap in SD to find explosive hops? [2017.09.20: 3.1]
4.0Bottle from Jungle Jim's. Aroma of tropical fruit, some spiciness, and bread malts.
4.1Full of fruit, complex hops, rich palate and a floral component. A little sticky, but clean on the finish.
4.2650 ml bottle. Pours a copper/amber with full head. Aromas of peppery pineapple, mashed tropical fruit, and sweet doughy malts. Flavors follow same. Light perfume
and bitter pine in the finish. Very good.
4.7Hello Brothers! It is I, BeerSlugger69. I went to the local beer store around 6:42 pm to purchase a case of something different. I stumbled upon a case of AleSmith Double IPA. Excited and intrigued I walked to the register to purchase said case. As I pulled out my identification the cashier stated, "$50.47". Thrown off by the price, my heart skipped a beat but I knew I couldn't pass on this opportunity. I swiped my card and carried the 20+ lbs case to my all black Ford Mustang with tan interior.
As I pulled up to my estate I realized the beers were warm. I needed to solve this problem quickly because I was parched and ready for a beverage. I placed 2 of the IPAs in my freezer and slid the rest into my refrigerator. After approximately 37 minutes I pulled the 2 ice cold glasses out of the freezer. I popped the cap of each, handed one to my sister and kept one for myself. It was time for the first sip.
With high expectations, I placed the tip of the glass on my lips and started to tilt my noggin. The icy liquid hit the tip of my tongue as I removed the glass from my mouth. I slapped my tongue to the roof of my mouth for the best taste experience possible. It was Hoppy, citrusy and hit with the perfect temperature.
This beverage tasted like Christmas morning. With a hint of pine and assortment of fruits such as orange, grapefruit and tangerine. Perfect mix of hops and fruit with a strong malt backbone to balance out all flavors.
Brothers we found the beer of the future!
4.0Ar: Pithy lemon and grapefruit, medium-high intensity; toast, orange, and pineapple; very bright aromas. Ap: Golden and clear; medium off-white head with moderate-good retention, leaving a layer of silky foam cover. T: Clean, pointed bitterness up front; lemon, grapefruit, orange, and pine--very pronounced; some lightly sweet malt with a toasted edge, but in the background; black pepper and pink grapefruit linger into the finish, with a huge grip of steely bitters. P: Medium body with high carbonation; finish is medium dry. O: A model West-coast 2XIPA; clean, high bitterness; purity of hop flavor, with lots of punchy citrus, pine, and resin; alcohol extremely well-hidden; looks quite nice in the glass, too!
4.02017 rating. Even though I'm moving away from the double IPAs, this one lives up to its reputation.
4.0Bomber - it pours a nearly clear rich golden yellow with a tinge of orange and a medium fluffy off white head. A really well rounded aroma with a floral like pine resin, an array of citrus peel, mild herbalness and a hint of bready maltiness. Parity in a double IPA is seldom seen and this is about a close as you get. Excellent hop bouquet and distinctive malt content combine to make a top notch double IPA.
4.4A strong hefty Imperial IPA. Citrusy and hoppy, mild malt overtones, and a real mouth explosion. Not the floral bouquet of Heady Topper and Sip o Sunshine but a remarkable brew.
3.8From a bomber. Pours clear bright gold with a frothy beige head. Tastes like smooth booze, bready malt, caramel, resin, and pine hops. Medium body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like resin, bready malt, caramel, and pine and grapefruit hops.
3.8Bottle. Pours clear amber. Aroma and flavor are bready malt, soft caramel, pine, citrus, crisp bitterness, and faint spicy alcohol notes. Medium body.
3.912oz bottle with foamy off white head aroma is faint citrus and pine taste is strong bitter hops faint citrus
3.8Very clear slightly copper color with a smooth foamy white head that speaks to you. Aroma is sweet floral hop orange and tangerine citrus. Big flavor rush and very balanced but contained. Sweet slightly cooked caramel malt bottom and sweet tropical citrus up front with strong piney bitterness out back. Dry and mildly boozy. The linger is bitter. Flavors expand after a few sips - stick with this one.
4.033cl bottle in snifter. STRAIGHT FROM CALI (La Jolla) in the luggage, BIG THANKS TO BOB AS ALWAYS !!
Pours a moderate, but dense, 1-2 fingers head, off white appearance; deep golden to orange color, with some light haziness. Smells really fresh and nice from the beginning: mango, pine, lime, all mixed on a minty background. Taste orange peel, tropical ripe, earthy, rich malts, resin, typical west coast. Really quite sustained but at the end pleasing bitterness, medium sweetness + that also kicks in. Very nice on the nose, with a bold and complex taste profile, maybe not as sophisticated as other indians from alesmith but still very solid.
4.1Bottle: Clear, hint of copper color, with good head and lace. Citrus zest and tropical. Some caramel. It’s a little closed. Mix of hops and malt. Dense. The palate is very big and rich but balanced.
I’ve tasted more enjoyable DIPA’s but this is a very solid beer with no rough edges.
5.0The greatness of the Alesmith IPA amped up! Light copper color with a large head of creamy white foam. Juicy grapefruit and fresh squeezed tangerine supported by a sweet, full bodied, yet clean and not over the top caramel base. Again, very juicy citrus and dank.
