4.0 Very nice amber color. Beautiful reddish hue. Aroma of malt, caramel, honey and grapefruit. Hoppy and bitter, spicy, warming, sweet malty taste. Very nicely balanced winter ale.
2.5 Very dark, red, amber with same taste. Too dark/red/Amber
4.6 Ale soul, ipa body. Love it so much.
3.8 A 650 ml bomber from Liquor Barn in Burnaby heights. A reddish amber beer with a pale yellow head and a faintly fruity malted nose. A large flavoring and bittering hop component with plenty of malt backing it up. A damn nice IPA for the colder months. 3.8
3.8 Bottle share @ Hansen's, thank you Charmaine! Pours nice clear red-ish amber with some beige foam there. Nice crisp hoppy nose, some malts underneath but still good. Tastes well hopped, fresh and malty base. Finish has nice hoppy bitterness lingering longer. Pretty good overall.
4.1 Hazy dark mahogany pour with a three finger, beige head that has great retention. Aroma is biscuit, deep caramel, woody hops, pine, sweet citrus and a hint of toffee. Flavor is woody, deep caramel, toffee rich cookies, toast, biscuit, wildflower floral notes, rich savory grainy notes. Medium body, slightly creamy entry, dry from there out, medium carbonation. Really good stuff.
4.1 Bottle. Misry copper to bronze colour. Decent off-white head. Nose: solid melon malts, tropical fruit, restrained grassiness and spiciness. Full body. Taste: clean powerful malty start. Fruity enough. Convincing hoppy finish. Grapefruit. Medium plus bitterness. Old school. Good as it is.
3.8 Tap, The Beer Grotto, Ann Arbor, MI. Murky amber. Caramel hop aroma. Sharp hop with a malt finish.
3.9 Pours orange/red with medium off-white head. Aroma is dry, hay, hops, sawdust, citrus, some dry fruits, light sweetness. Taste is pine, resin, some cookies, light sweetness, dry, sawdust, citrus, some sweet fruits, light metal, hay, biter and sourish in the end. Very nice beer!
4.0 0.355 l bottle from 'Rudat', bottled in September 2017. Clear, deep red with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, intensely fruity-resiny and slightly grassy aroma of pine, red fruits, grapefruit and a touch of tobacco. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, fruity-resiny and slightly grassy taste of massive pine, red fruits, tobacco, grapefruit and some herbal notes, followed by a medium long, rather dry-bitter, fairly resiny, slightly grassy finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Extremely intense, very hoppy-resiny, great classic west coast stuff!
3.7 Bottle. Deep red/amber with an off-white head. Sweet malt, earthy notes, pine, citrus peel, grapefruit flesh, caramel, rye. Heavy sweet malty and moderate bitterness.
4.3 Me gusta!
4.0 Nearly clear red amber, thick offwhite froth. Piney, fruity aroma, caramel. Malty, fruity flavour. Citrus peel, resin. Caramely, hoppy with solid alc warmth. Nice old school DIPA.
3.7 Strong malty start with caramel, bread, and nuts. Lightly sweet leading to a hops that is very present, but not really bitter or dry. Overall I'd say it's just very full and balanced.
3.6 Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear deep red brew with off white head. Nice aroma of earth, citrus and light resin with some dank notes. Taste is creamy sweet with citrus hops up front, solid malt in the middle and a spicy citrus noted hops finish. No hop bomb but excellent balance of malt and moderate hops. Rich and creamy palate. A little potent in ABV area (which I like). Solid, smooth and tasty - a nice malty and moderately hopped brew. Not but a standout in terms of complexity or character but who cares, very enjoyable.
3.7 Słoń w polewie chmielowej. Ciężkie, gęste, słodowe, ciemno-herbaciane. Dobrze radzi sobie z czasem, piana tresciwa. Brzuch rośnie w oczach od kalorii. Mocne, ale ociezale.
3.8 amber dark. fruity, grapefruits, finish is light bitter/sweet, very well balanced, another one, tasty beer, sometimes i envy those yanks
3.9 A 12 fl. oz. bottle, bottled on 19th September 2017. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. It was a clear dark amber copper colour with a big two finger light beige head that had great retention and left nice lacing. Aromas of caramel malts, grapefruit zest, citrus rind and pine. Tastes similar to the aroma with sweet caramel malts, grapefruit flesh, zest and rind, grass and pine. Finish was nice with moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, solid tasting Red IPA with good balance of malt and hops.
4.3 Redish amber color. Big , off -white head. Caramel malt, pine and tropical fruits . Balanced and extremely drinkable.
3.9 Pours rosy amber with light tan head. Aroma is slightly more subdued than I expect from an imperial red from alesmith. The flavour more than makes up for the aroma. Full bodied, rich, sweet, refreshing, delicious.
3.8 On Tap im Muted Horn in Berlin. Klares Bernstein/Rot. Aroam: Fruchtig, Grapefruit, Honig, Geschmack: Rosine, Karamell, süßer Hustensaft (durchaus eine positive Erinnerung). Ausgewogen.
4.3 From bottle in IPA glass. Pours reddish amber with thick, light tan head and fruity & earthy hop aroma mixed with caramel. These two elements are balanced nicely to deliver a rich tasty brew and the fruitiness intensifies as it warms. The finish is a bit sweet but rounded out nicely by hop bitterness
3.8 Malty but well balanced
3.7 Bottle (couldn't read date on bottom of bottle). Clear reddish amber with a near white head. 4 Aroma is clean and punchy with grapefruit and pepper over restrained toffee and breadcrust. No more than medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Sweet but not hugely so. Almost lush caramel, mere hints of dried fruit (peach, mango). Spicy and some citrusy hops come though towards the fairly bitter finish. Pleasant, clean. Doesn't over-deliver for its strength. The best thing about it is how it delivers rich malt without all that much sweetness so that the bitterness doesn't have to fight through.
3.8 355 ml bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy copper with an off-white head. The aroma is medium malty with bread, caramel and some honey and medium hoppy with pine, resin some subtle ripe citric fruits. Medium to full body with a light to medium sweetness, a medium bitterness and some noticeable alcohol. The flavor starts malty with caramel, brown sugar and honey followed by a nice bitter hoppiness (pine, resin, herbal, again with riper fruits - orange, mango - tea leaves). Overall with a good balance, settled with a good bitterness. Nice one. Aroma: 7 Appearance: 4 Taste: 8 Palate: 4 Overall: 15
3.7 Bottle (22oz). Red with two finger off white head. Lots of roasted malts. Slightly burnt taste (not in a bad way). Some pine. Not much on the hop side. A little bitterness in the end. Actually pretty good for a red (not generally my favorite style).
3.8 12 ounce bottle. Hazy copper red color. Large rocky beige head. Rich roasted malt nose. Notes of caramel and brown sugar. Flavor follows nose. Smooth and malty with a roasted, nutty malt flavor. Alcohol is well hidden. Chewy, malty finish. Earthy notes.
3.7 Lekko mętne, złote, z dość fajną, kremową pianą, niezbyt trwałą. Zapach mocno amerykański ale w kierunku owoców tropikalnych. Słodko, lekko alkoholowo. Jest ananas, winogrono, morela, mango. Trochę żywicy. Wyraźny i całkiem miły chociaż trochę za słodki. Smak klasycznie imperialna IPA. Czuć moc ale alkohol nie wychodzi. Jest bardzo pełne, owocowe. Głównie owoce tropikalne, dojrzałe jabłko, morela, winogrono. Goryczka średnio wysoka, trochę zalegająca i taninowa. Nie przeszkadza to jednak bo fajnie to kontruje mocną słodowość. Trochę ta goryczka robi się gryząca z czasem, alkohol gdzieś w końcówce języka szczypie. Nasycenie idealne.
