3.7 Bottle; Pour is murky medium golden in hue with a frothy white head initially; becomes a fine bubbled average head with a little time, with some average lacing in this glass. This one has a terrific nose to me ; lemon grass, some dustiness, sweet bread, and florals. The flavor profile has some nice depth, yet this brew at this point has an excellent and clean feel all around. Initial is lightly bitter, with some musk and basement somewhat present, while more florals and sweet syrup and bread some through, finishing with a bit of lemon zest and a hint of booze, surprisingly. I never had this one when it was fresh, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one as it is.
3.6 (Bottle 22/04-2012) Low white head, clear yellow color, light Belgian yeast, slightly sweet taste, round taste.
3.6 Shared 355 ml bottle at Cardinal. Hazy golden with a small white head that leaves excellent lacing. Spicy Belgo yeast and honey on the nose. Heavy sweet, heavy bitter, alco warm, full body. Syrupy. Dry tongue. Smooth to drink. Long sweet and bitter finish.
3.4 355 ml bottle. From Rome, Italy. Courtesy of Brandman. Slightly cloudy orangey golden colour with tiny off-white head. Fruity sugary hoppy aroma. Sweet fruity flavour with mild hoppy bitterness and some spices. Surprisingly moderate hoppiness. I guess they have tried to keep this Belgian style not American style.
4.0 12oz bottle as a great extra from hophead22. thanks, tim! been searching for this collabo for a while. pours a hazy, orange-amber with a smooth, one-finger, white head that leaves rich lacing on the glass. aroma is great with notes of fresh cut grass, pineapple syrup, peach nectar, and apple skins backed by spice notes of coriander, cinnamon, and sage with hints of lemon zest as it warms. flavor is delicious as well with a heavy dose of dry, zesty, spice notes of cinnamon, clove, and coriander backed by earthy, leafy hops, pear juice, orange pulp, and subtle hints of pineapple ahead of a sweet, toffee coated malt finsih. palate is medium bodied and smoothly carbonated with a nice balance of crisp fruit, spices, and sweet malts. overall, another great collaboration brew from stone.
3.9 355 ml bottle @ Esplanadi, Tampere Rated on 20090319. Clear yellow color, small head. Aroma has ripe fruits, caramel and yeast. Flavor has caramel, fruits, yeast and spices.
4.2 12oz bottle. Clear yellow orange color, with lots of floating particles suspended inside. Minimal white head leaving a lot of lace. Great, light but sharp carbonation. Somewhat drier texture, very easy to drink. Nice, long aftertaste. The aroma is very complex and interesting. Some fruit aroma in there, like fresh tropical fruit, as well as a spice I can’t figure out that complements the hops very nicely. I’m not sure how long this has been aging for [Note: found last week at Dutch’s, some white residue under the cap], but I think it’s done good for this brew. Taste is very nice. Awesome sweet (somewhat tart) taste, with a good amount of bitterness and that classic belgian weirdness in there. Really, I wish I had more of this to analyze. I finished my 12 ounces too quickly, sadly... Definitely an awesome tripel
4.1 12 ounce bottle into chalice. Released in Sept 2008, so it is over 3 years old now. Pours cloudy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retnetion that reduces to a thin cap that lasts. Fair amount of lacing clinging to the glass as well. Aromas of big lemon, orange, clove, pepper, candi sugar, light fruits, grains, bready/spicy yeast, and alcohol esters. Nice and well balanced aromas. Taste of lemon, orange, clove, pepper, bread, candi sugar, apple, pear, herbs, and spicy yeast. Lingering notes of pepper, clove, light fruits, bread, and spice on the finish for a while. Nice balance of flavors, with no cloying at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is fairly well hidden, only a warming on the finish noticed. Quite smooth to drink, but it is still a sipper. Overall this is an excellent Tripel collab, especially at over 3 years old. Glad I got to try this.
3.7 RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting @ the Harlequin. Clear golden color with decent white head. Wheaty and grassy aroma. Yeassty taste, with grassy hops, coriander, some fruit. nice for the style.
3.4 Thanks to yespr for that one. Bottle looks a bit complex. Beer in the glass brownish, small head. Starts strong and spicy, modest sourish background. Also a bit alcoholic. Finish a bit unbalanced, but still fine spicy. Okay.
3.6 A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet honey citrus malt, orange peels, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice smooth malt with creamy mouth feel, light subdued spices, all nice and blended. Bieropholie import 2009. 2 year old bottle.
3.9 En belgisk trippel med amerikanska passionfrukt/Simcoearomer, dock med måttlig beska. Välavvägt.
2.9 "Triple" not "Tripel" on the bottle. Golden coloured and hazy. Has a white head, medium duration. Hoppy aroma, citrus US-notes. Caramel too. Sugars. Faint yeasty. Sweet flavor, moderate bitter finish. Creamy texture.
3.5 caramel, bread, golden, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, bitter, long finish.
3.8 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose is yeasty esters, hops. Tastes fruity, spicy, floral, somwhat dry, with a smooth finish. Solid. I don’t have the other versions to compare to, but this one was nice.
3.8 Nice color for a tripel. Nice aroma and a bit watery taste. My expectations didn’t completely come true. Not a bad beer though, but not superb either.
4.0 A bit citrus like, fruity. Very nice collaboration. Could use a bit more body.
3.1 Getreidig-hefiger Geruch. Mild hefiger Antrunk, harmonisch herb, das Bier wirkt kraftlos. Wenig würzig und getreidig. Eher entäuschend. /10/10/9/fl/10
3.3 Hazy, pale amber with a small white heaad. Sweet with fruity notes. Alcohol, bitter and fruit. Full body with a long, bittersweet aftertaste.
3.6 Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours hazy gold/yellow with a bit of white head. Aroma of honey, floral hops, light fruit, herbs. Taste has light sweetness with more fruit and citrus, decent bitterness on the finish. Not your typical tripel, but very enjoyable nonetheless.
3.9 On tap at the Stanton Public House after Get Real NY. Pours a hazy apricot golden brown with a thin white head. Sweet caramel, toast, citrus. Sweet caramel, and fuzzy musk. Toast, caramel and some light fruit. Warm and spicy, malt and sweet fruit. Soft funky musk and sweet wheat.
4.0 Tasted on 3/28/11 from a 12oz bottle purchased at Sun Devil back in the day. Pours clear orange with an average beige head that slowly recedes to thin and spotty lace. The nose is spicy yeast and a hint of spicy and herbal green hops along with a bit of candi sugar, some caramel malt, and just a bit of orange peel bitterness. The flavor is much the same with the yeast spice very pronounced along with candi sugar, spicy and herbal hops, and that same bitter orange peel on the back of the palate. The body is medium plus with an oily texture, light but stinging carbonation and a long spicy yeast and bitter orange peel finish. This beer is holding up very well, and has integrated considerably since I tasted it fresh.
3.6 Clear orange without head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, yeasty, light spicy and hoppy - grapefruit and grass. Flavor is rather sweet and moderate bitter. Bitter and dry finish with a little warming alcohol. The American hops suit this tripel well. 030311

3.6 Bottle 355ml @ Patricks Pub og Restaurant, Kristiansand Pours hazy pale amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, dried fruits and barley. Taste is medium sweet with an average fruity, alcohol finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
3.4 Bottle 330(?)ml at Patricks, courtesy of Meilby. Pours light, hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, raisins. Taste is medium to very sweet, alcohol. Medium body, thin to oily, soft carbonation.
4.0 Bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours amber/golden with some head. Lots of flavors here. Malt, hops, sour fruit. I remember we sat down and discussed the flavor of this beer and concluded that it tasted like a specific piece of candy found in Norway. Sure peace-tegn. Go figure. All in all an interesting beer.
3.6 7th April 2009 Hazy amber-gold beer. Semi dry palate, a little soft. A complex beer - deftly integrated. Sweet malt and citrus. A little hop bitterness and a light touch of aniseedy alcohol at the end.
3.7 Orange colored brew. Fruity, hoppy, yeasty aroma. Flavor has got nice fruity hops, some yeast, sweet malty, spices. Good creamy texture. Overall very nice.
