3.7On tap. Pours amber with moderate head. Aromas of doughy malts, soft tropical fruit, grass and pine. Flavor follow same with bitter pine/citrus. Nice.
3.5Pours clear topaz with a thick and rather persistent ivory head. Aroma delivers resiny hops and more hops - then some citrus and a bit of raw malt. Flavor yields piney and slightly bitter hops, still mainly resiny, plus zesty orange and grapefruit, malty and tropical undertones. Texture features fair body and jazzy fizz. Mr. Spock would appreciate this one.
4.5Burk Wilhelmshill. Doftar hav o aprikos i massor. Frisk doft!
4.1Poured up on tap at Tipsy Cactus where it exhibits a clear gold body that supports a thin off white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy dank hops, grapefruit and a sense of floral hops. The taste delivers similar notes with a bit of pine in there amid the mildly juicy and somewhat bitter grapefruit and spicy onion dankness. Solid deep flavorful sipper.
2.226.07.2018, 12 oz can @ Fjordline cabin from Hirtshals to Bergen:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is sweet boozy, sap, bark, minerals, booze, sugar, wet grass, wet hops, sawdust, hay. Taste is sweet boozy, sap, wet grass, wet hops, bark, booze, minerals, pine needles, moss, paper, sugar, sawdust. Longlasting harsh bitterness, dry boozy mouthfeel. Not my cup of coffee.
3.5Clear golden with white foam. Sweet pale malt, tropical fruit, citrus herbal aromas. Smooth rich mouthfeel. Citrus, tropical fruit, herbal, flavors with a big sweet malt base brew-- tangy lightly boozy finish __ good
3.7Tap at Kultainen Apina. Pours clear golden with white head. Sweet fruits, mango, orange, citrus, caramel, alcohol. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation and bitter finnish.
3.4Piana szybko opada. Spoczko.
3.433 cl can @ home. Pours golden with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are pine, citrus, and some alcohol - with a bitter finish.
3.6An orange beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has smoothnees of mango and sweetness of caraml, pine. Taste has caramel, smooth fruitness, quite strong bitterness that's decreased by sweetness. Medium+ bodied. Caramelly, good beer.
1.1Can (Mar 12, 2018 canning).
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark yellow.
Aroma is strong notes of onions, melted plastic, hair spray, garlic, rancid butter, alcohol, applesauce, corn syrup.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, very unclean.
Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately to heavily alcoholic.
Absolutely wretched. The first whiff from the glass literally knocked my head back instantly in disgust...an atrocity of off notes and nothing else, especially onions. One of the worst aromas I've ever encountered in over 15 years of writing beer reviews. Positively shocking. Extremely dirty aftertaste, and very syrupy sweet in the mouth. Unbelievably bad.
3.5Can from The Gull, North Vancouver, tag 03/13/2018, ~4 months old
Cloudy golden colour, a bit dull, and with barely any head. Mild aroma of generic fruits, light dank, touch of turmeric, rotten fruits. Good body strength, but lean mouthfeel, thanks to a very much controlled level of sugars, and the alcohol is barely noticeable, warming but not boozy; the hop is very resiny, but not much expressive, definitively not fresh, and more is expected even from a 4m old can; plenty of orange peel.
Not fresh, but pretty good.
4.1Copenhagen 2/7 2018. 35,5 cl can from Kihosk, Kbh V. Confusing Can with palm tree, a shining beer standing on top of an Anvil, a Pizza Port Sun and what looks like a Surfer.
Pours hazy golden orange with medium-sized, persistent white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam crawling up the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is strong, juicy and insistently citric. Sweet tropical fruit like peach, mango and sweet melon. Strong citric notes. Undercurrent of resin. And some boozy slightly decaying, fermented odor.
Soft carbonation. Thick, oily, creamy, soft texture. Lightly sticky
Flavor is fairly sweet. Followed by strong, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is prominently bitter with lighter sweet notes and with a notable alcoholic burn lurking just beneath the surface. Lingering.
Potent DIPA which does exactly what it’s supposed too. Give you an abundance of hops while blowing you away in cloud of alcohol.
4.0Pours cloudy golden with low white head. Aromas hoppy of mangoes, tropical fruits, pine, caramel, resin. Taste has notes of tropical fruits, caramel, pine, resin. Mouthfeel well hidden sticky alcohol, medium body, average carbonation and a medium to high bitter finish
4.2Originally had this on draft at Alesmith. This rating from a 12 ounce can purchased at Bine & Vine ($2.99). POURS a fairly murky honey-amber hue with one finger of white foam. AROMA of sweet tropical fruits, some dank, citrus, and caramel malts. FLAVOR of prickly pine, over ripe mango, resinous hops, other tropical and citric fruit, and notably sweet malts. Finishes moderately both bitter and sweet which makes for a good balance. Goes down quite easy for a 10%er hop bomb. Some new school, some old school from these local brewing legends. Great from the can, but excellent on draft. (1101, 173)
3.5The aroma is full of pine, mango, citrus, malt, lemon rind and mandarin. The color is straw yellow with a slight haze to it. The taste is full of pine, mango, citrus, lemon rind, mandarin, tangerine and lime. A nice beer!
4.2Pours orange with a thin white head. Aroma is dank with pinapple and tropical fruits. Taste is more citrus with some mango and other tropical fruits. Mediumm bitterness this has pizza ports fingerprint all over it.
4.1Very nice aroma, fresh, description covers it. Pours bright with an off white head. Sweet at first, decent hop bite thereafter. Most high ABV IPA's I have had are too sweet, this is well balanced. Dense palate but still smooth drinking. Great collab from 2 great breweries.
3.9Poured from a can, hazy orange with a tight white foamy head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and citrus. Taste follows with a nice malt backbone. Boozy sweet aftertaste. Rich and tasty. This one is a killer. The more yer drink the more yer enjoy.
3.8Can from Giant Eagle in Grandview: gold pour, murky, medium white head, strong retention. aroma of citrus, pine, floral. tastes are moderately aggressive bitter, pine, sweet caramel malts, bittersweet, covers abv mostly. little tropical. mood beer for me, but good one. ORIGINAL: Draft 4th st pub before Crew game. Moderate to big even bitter. Nice texture creamy lively - 7.8
3.7Vibrant orange pour. Small white head. Citrus (orange), caramel, delicious! Rich and sweet.
3.9Tap. Old school west coast here. Crackers light malt base, piney, grapefruit, citrus, some resin burn at the end. Not sweet and sticky. Big, but very good.
3.9On tap at Whole Foods. Lightly hazy golden with an off-white cap. Citrus, resin. Medium bitter, medium sweet. Medium bodied. Good stuff.
3.7Draft. Poured cloudy copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy west coast citrus hop aroma. Moderate to heavy citrus bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Very good brew.
4.112 oz draft pours an orange color with a small white head. Aromas of resin, citrus, alcohol. Full bodied, complex, very good
4.2Pouring light and clear, the rich light nose speaks of high malt contribution. First taste is strong, rich and full. Bitterness of a west coast ipa is a welcome balance. I’d do this again!!!
3.9Draft at Bru Craft. Mostly clear deep gold pour that started with thick off-white foam that left lots of lace but thinned down. Huge syrupy pine IIPA. Thick honey caramel malts. Intense IBUs. Turpentine. Listerine. Anbesol. Not particularly fruity but faint notes of mango, pineapple, melon and kumquat. Definitely a high gravity sipper.
