AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale

AleSmith X Extra Pale Ale

This refreshing, light-golden Extra Pale Ale embodies drinkability. AleSmith X pushes the limits by offering a level of flavor not often found in this classic style. Fresh American hops are abundant but carefully balanced by a light, crisp body and smooth bitterness. Notes of citrus and pine combine with a delicate malt sweetness to create a flavorful drinking experience.

1.7 Smells very, very nice, but the taste . . . nothing. I was warned, the back of the bottle says, that it embodies drink-ability. But the front label says: extra pale ale, with big X´s ? So from that, you might expect it to be extra hoppy, well, its not. When it warms, you start to sense a bit of bitterness. The bottle says: serve at 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit. I would definitely say, that its better at 50 than 45 degrees. But I don't get this beer at all. The hops are sweet, but they are just detectable, no noise, no nothing. From my perspective, this is a very boring beer. Some people might call it pleasant, but I might actually put this in the rainwater category, that many of largest American brewery's, sadly have resorted to so often. At its very, very best, I might call this beer flowery, but in a very subdued sense. And there is just to much nothing taste there as well, to justify such an adjective. The X´s and that Alesmith anvil on the bottle is completely wrong, they aught to paint decorative flowers on it, to at least try and emphasize its few qualities. Light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel,

3.7 Ragylden med varigt skum. Klar humleprofil i næsen. Også citrus. Humle dominerer også i smagen. Det bitre vinder over det søde og giver en amerikansk pale ale over middel.

Compleja y brillante.

3.7 Rated on 6-26-2017. This bottled beer’s appearance is a medium sized white semi-frothy head that is mostly lasting, transparent gold body, fast rising carbonation observed, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, pine, tropical fruit, earthy, floral, caramel, and malt. The flavor is lightly bitter, citrus hops, pine hops, earthy, lightly sweet, tropical fruit, spicy, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and smooth. This beer is light-medium bodied. This is a very easy and refreshing beer with a light bitter finish. The flavors come together very nicely and this is a beer that I would like to purchase again.
3.3 A lovely copper color with a huge white head. The aroma is spritzy sweet citrus while The taste is malt forward then fuzzy pine and old dried citrus peel. Alright but most likely better fresh.

3.7 Aroma: Medium aroma of malts, caramel, honey, fruit, bread, hops and citrus. Appearance: Turbid/opaque golden/amber beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium white/off-white head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, honey and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, hops and citrus. Overall: This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Could have used more distinct fruit flavours. It is not a bad beer by any means, but still could have been so much more.

3.7 Originally rated on 10/2/2008. "Aroma of pine with strong floral notes, pear, and pineapple as well. It pours a cloudy mid yellow body with a mid sized cap that remained throughout drinking, there were a few floaters present. Mouthfeel was a little watery but not bad, flavor of grapefriut and a little malt, slight bitterness in the finish.
