3.5 Bottle at the Rate Beer Awards Festival Bottle Share. Big coffee in the nose, sugar, vanilla, maybe maple syrup, and bourbon. Sweet falvors of vanilla, bourbon, cocoa, cola. Almost flat. A bit too sweet and somewhat 1-dimensionally driven by the additives.
3.8 Bottle are the RB awards Clear dark brown with a small tan head, no lacing. Aroma of dark malts, woody and cinnamon. Taste of dark malts, chocolate and coffee Very tasty

4.0 Bottle shared during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Cheers! Pours oily black-brown with a tan foam head. The aroma holds milk chocolate, light coffee. Rich flavor, moderately sweet, with nice chocolate and creamy coffee character. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, with light warmth, continuing hearty cocoa, milky coffee, mellow earthy bitterness. Solid.
3.6 Bomber from ksurkin, thanks bro. Poured a pitch black silky body with a tiny ass light beige head. Aroma is sweet sugary bourbon, dark fruit skins, sugary, plum and prune, seems almost vinous, burnt marshmallows. Flavor isnt as sweet, burnt toast, dark fruits, sweet bourbon, very light sweet coffee notes. Medium mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Solid but hoping for more.
4.7 Oh, another amazing beer by Alewerks? Didn’t see that coming. This is like desert in a bottle. Aroma is huge amounts of chocolate, coffee, bourbon, and vanilla. Absolutely dark as night. This tastes like someone took a piece of chocolate cake and drowned it in coffee, vanilla then poured bourbon all over it to finish it off. It’s absolutely delicious. It’s sweet but not cloying. I can see something like this getting way too sweet and rich, but the bourbon cuts that. The said bourbon isn’t overpowering. I’m not a huge fan of bourbon barrel beers, but this one and their bourbon barrel porter are both excellent. This one isn’t as heavy on the bourbon as the porter in my opinion. Overall this is a solid BBS. I love the beers Alewerks brews, I’m glad they’re so consistent. Cheers.

Taste- Has a nice malt and bourbon flavor with a hint of coffee. Palate- This is a medium bodied beer with mild carbonation. It has a slightly oily texture that compliments the flavor. Overall- A real good find, I would drink this again.
3.9 Bottle at Craig’s. Pours deep brown, nose is chocolate, coffee, bourbon, taste is similar, rich, vanilla.
4.0 On tap at Whole Foods in Market Square, Fairfax, VA. Opaque, brown-black with a thin tan head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, milk chocolate, roasted coffee, licorice, bourbon and oak. Taste of bourbon, roasted coffee, chocolate, licorice, roasted malt and vanilla. Nicely balance complex blend of dark flavors. A little heavy on the bourbon, but it still give the other flavors room to shine. Medium/full body and medium carbonation.

3.8 Bottle share thanks to beechner224. Big coffee aroma, roasty and sweet, lactose aroma, milk chocolate. Deep dark blackish pour, large brown head. Big roasty flavor, coffee, light chocolate, fairly sweet, a bit grainy, some alcohol warmth.
4.2 Bomber: Thanks Moyman: Shared with Iluvatarmilan: Served at roomtemperature in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a dark beige light brown head. Great aroma of coffee, Bourbon, wood/spice roast, mocha and chocolate. Flavours of mocha, coffee, some (coffee) roast, chocolate, praline, bitters, light wood, lighter Bourbon and lightest vanilla. Aftertaste is mocha, coffee, chocolate, bitters... Low carbo, light creamy light watery mouthfeel and between medium to full bodied. Nice!
3.8 Bottle. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of coffee, bourbon, chocolate and wood. Flavor was quite sweet with chocolate, coffee, soft bourbon, caramel, wood and vanilla. Smooth texture, full bodied, low carbonation.
4.2 Bottle. Thanks! A: Black body with a foamy mocha head N: Huge cocoa and milk chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Caramel and oak. Crunchy brown sugar and char. Bourbon is well-integrated. T: Very sweet, very little bitterness, not cloying. M: Medium heavy body, almost crunchy, alcohol is well-hidden, creamy carbonation. O: Powerful coffee/sweet stout. Bourbon gets added rather than taking over, and I would drink this yearly.
4.1 Bomber from drake - thanks Dan! Pours dark brown with a brown head leaving some lacing. Aroma has vanilla-y bourbon up front, with roasty coffee and caramel poking through. Later a touch of fruit as well as licorice and some lacticity. Yum. Taste is of sweet bourbon, heavy roasty coffee beans, sweet caramel malt, some bitter chocolate, and a touch of earth with sugary lactose. 8 Medium bodied with some alcohol. Finishes sweetly bourbon-y with bitter coffee and the touch of chocolate, in a great blend. Maybe the best combination of bourbon coffee, with that light chocolate mixed in, that I’ve had to date. (ok, beyond BCBS Coffee) There was just too much sugary lactose or it would be wonderful. 15.2
4.2 22 oz bomber into a snifter. The pour is a thick viscous and black with a dark brown head and no lace to be found. The aroma is big on coffee. There is a great vanilla and bourbon character to it, which I just love! There is a little licorice and some great booze heat. The flavor is wonderful. Coffee, vanilla, cocoa, licorice, bourbon. Very well balanced and smooth. The mouth feel is a touch thin, but there bus a great carbonation and velvety texture. The aftertaste is smooth coffee with a great coffee and vanilla addition. I'm a big fan
4.3 Aroma is bourbon barrel, cocoa, vanilla, oatmeal, milk. Appearance is black, thick, not much head. Taste is great, chocolate, bourbon barrel, vanilla combined perfectly, then the flavor disappears for some reason, then a great coffee aftertaste. Mouthfeel is great, but thin, oily, good carbonation, flavor lingers. Overall, this is really really good.
4.9 Pour from a bottle is a nice dark chocolate bottle with a light brown head. Aroma is a nice blend of bourbon and coffee. Taste is a little sweet with a nice bitterness at the end. Goes down smooth.
4.1 Pours black with aroma of coffee, vanilla, roasted malt, and bourbon. Great balance of coffee with roasted malt, vanilla, and a hint of bourbon. Great beer!
4.1 On tap at the brewery, pours dark rich black brown with small tan head. Nose is rich creamy chocolate, latte, milky coffee, balanced dark bourbony fruit. Taste has great silky cream mouthfeel, well integrated mocha coffee and tasty fruity bourbon spice and touches of oaky vanilla. Finish is chocolate milk, coffee, vanilla, light bourbon. Pretty impressive.
3.5 Quite a lot of coffee here and subtly done barrel - the way barrel should be done. Aromas come together well, but this doesn’t quite taste as big as an imperial stout should be. A regular stout or foreign stout at the most. Lacks complexity. Pours dark brown/black with good head and lacing. Medium bitter finish. Tap at Churchkey.
