Bottle: The aroma consists of dark chocolate, anise, coffee, and a hint of vanilla. It pours a dark brown, virtually black, with a small beige head that quickly fades to a very fine ring. The flavor starts with dark chocolate with a hint of molasses. The finish has roasted malt, coffee, and a touch of anise. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Solid impy, nice coffee ring to it.

Bigger tasting at Ronny’s flat, Copenhagen. Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light dry dark malt. Some oaty sweetness. Little cocoa. Light semi dry finish. Standard stuff but decent.
4.033cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Pours almost used-motor-oil-black with a fairly dense and lasting beige head. Dark, malty aroma with roasty notes, lots of chocolate, dried fruits, some coffee and hints of wood and vanilla. Sweet, flavourful and complex, but somehow surprisingly well balanced. Nice bitterness in the finish. Delicious sipper!
3.9Bottle@Ronny and Alex pre cbc tasting #2 - black pour with tan head. Big roasty malty aroma and taste, chocolate, caramel, cocoa, some nice burnt notes, sweet roasty, this hits the spot.

3.6330mL bottle, pours black with a small brown head. Nose brings out decadent notes of vanilla and cocoa. Flavour brings out complex notes of roasted malt upfront, followed by lots of vanilla and a little dark fruits. Rich and robust, with a higher than normal roast character or a porter. Very good stuff.
4.1Bottle at home, from Stockholm, 19th April 15. Pours black and neat. Aroma chocolate, smoke, coffee, delicious mouth feel, with taste of smoke, tobacco, cocoa. Lovely smooth porter.

4.8I’ve been drinking several of this, both bottled and tap and must say that it is so amazing every time. Now I poured a 330ml bottle which is black with a dark tan head. The aroma is sweet as sin, there’s candy aromas, sweetness, spun sugar, syrup. The taste is oily and heavily creamy. Coffee, roasted fresh coffee beans, fudge, dates, prunes, dark syrup, chocolate, rosted marshmallows. Full body, perfect balance. Works amazingly well with a cured meat platter! Love it and cant ask for more from this style!
4.2Pitch black, nice foam. Chocolate and coffee taste. And very sweet too. Smells like something I would have for breakfast. Very good mouthfeel.
4.0Pitch black, raw-oil-looking body with a creamy, medium brown head that sticks to the glass. Dry, roasted and strong aroma of dark caramel and coffee, with notes of wood and tobacco in the back. Strong flavour of coffee and other dark roasted elements like ash and tobacco. Also nice notes of fruits. The finish is pretty heavy bitter and long-lasting. Full-bodied, creamy and dry texture. A masterpiece!
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 3 years before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]
Suutuntuma on kyllä oikein hyvä.
3.833cl bottle. Pours dark brown to black with thick cafe latte colored foamy head leaving some lacing and a small pool on the beer as it disapears. Aroma of dark dries fruits, medicine and some coffee with slight sweet roasted notes as well as raw unsweetened cocoa after a while. Great burned to heavily roasted bitterness with some hops and hop bitterness emerging at the end and competing with more coffe like flavors. With later sips some sweeter chocolaty tones also emerge at the beginning of the sips harmonizing nicely with the other flavors. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy but maybe somewhat light, alcohol is felt as a warming sensation but not tasted. Quite enjoyable
3.7Black colour with a creamy dark head. A slightly sour aroma with dark dried fruits, some tar, dark chocolate, roasted malt and soy. Taste of roasted malt and dark chocolate with some sourness and a dry after-taste.
3.7Black color, brown head. Roasted malt nose, chocolate, dried fruit, coffee. Roasted malt taste, coffee, licorice, sweet fruity, brunt sugar, dry finish. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, oily texture.
4.3Aroma is deep and heavy roasted malts with almost a tar sensation around it. A thick and almost syrup-like brew that builds up a delicious foam in the glass. The taste is dark and rich and a little sweet. There is a bitterness like from roasted nuts and old coffee from the pan. This is how I like my porters, it is like a blend of sweat wrung from a middle-aged barista’s shirt after a twelve hour shift at the coffeehouse and mixed with ashes from a burnt-down hazelnut tree.
4.1330 ml bottle from Systembolaget Passagen, Stockholm.
Black, oily body, with a quite big, dense, creamy, dark beige to brown head.
Aroma of ash, chocolate, coffee, wood, dark and dried fruits, some pepper.
Quite sweet, rich taste wth about the same aromas, but with more melting chocolate and nuts.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with a smooth carbonation.
Finishes roasty, dry, wooden, ashy.
Very tasty! Strong but smooth at the same time, with a great balance between sweet chocolate, subtle dark fruits and dry, ashy notes. Also pretty easy to drink for this style, the ABV is completely hidden. One of the very best Scandinavian beers I’ve had lately!
4.0Bottle by Cuso, thanks! Aroma deep, dark roasted, ashy, strong coffee. Light chilli. Very dark colour, oily texture. Stable head, relatively. Taste is rich and malty, strong coffee, rather light caramel, rather thick body. Light chilli. Tasty, very good, relatively easily drinkable.
4.1Bottle from my European Secret Santa, many thanks Per. Almost black color with medium beige head. Strong coffee aroma with molasses, bourbon. Taste, sweet coffee, caramel, dark chocolate, chilli, hazelnuts, licorice, spices, alcohol. Long coffee bitter finish. Tasty.
4.0Bottle by Cuso, many thanks. Pours black color, dark beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate. Taste is bitter, medium sweet, lot of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, burnt sugar. Nice bitter coffee finish.
3.90.33 flaske. Kullsvart med mørkt brunt skum. Aroma av kaffe sjokolade. Smak av kaffe og sjokolade frukt krydder malt. Kanongod mild ettersmak
3.9330 ml bottle. Black with mocca head. Aroma strong, coffee, dark chocolate, green chili. Taste is similar, lots of chili, light dark chocolate, coffee, roasted notes, a bit burnt
3.6Bottle thanks to _angst_, thanks Alex! Pours a near-black, fairly opaque, a nice two finger brown head settles into nice spotty lacing. Nose is interesting. Black olives, earth, roasted almonds, some spice and a lingering alcohol. Taste is much more relaxed than the nose, but still rich. Earth, anise, coffee, cocoa powder, black olives and some bittering earthy hops. Finishes on the drier side, but has a nice lingering coffee/anise that helps push the olives away. Adventurous porter! Drinks a little closer to a stout.
3.933cl bottle from systembolaget. Pours thick black with nice brown head. Roasted coffee aroma with loads of coffee taste. Chocolate and bitter after taste.
3.9(330ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours Black with a small dense tan head that recedes slowly, with lace. Aroma of dried fruits (prune, date, etc), sweet lightly roasted coffee, coffee bean, chocolate malts, almost a peppery smoke. In the mouth, more dried fruits, caramel, dark and chocolate malt make a sweet initial flavour along with some moderate coffee. Some roast joins in the middle, not too strong but enough to dry a bit and complement the caramel/fruit. Finish is dry and lightly bitter from the roast with a smoky, faintly peppery quality and a bit of coffee bean. Medium bodied and kinda creamy with lightish carb. A dry but fruity imperial porter that is well balanced, complex, and not overly roasted for style or enjoyability. Good one from Lervig and All-In!
3.6Poured from bottle, almost black with low light brown head. Aroma is heady with notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted nuts, spice and earth. Taste is somewhat dry and bitter sweet. Notes of dark roasted coffee, chocolate, liquorice, herbs. Nice long aftertaste.
3.5Bottle 33 cl. Pours pretty thick and solid - opaque naturally - with a rich, brown head. Nose is kinda "rotten", not necessarily a bad thing. Just appears degrading somehow, heavy vanilla and dark, dried fruits. Some coffee notes also, but not overly roasty. Quite alright. 191214
4.0Tap @ Fermentoren Aarhus. Pitch black pour with a tiny tan head. Loads of roast and coffee, some light dark chocolate and some licorice. Very good stuff!
