4.2 Taster at brewery. Pours red with a white head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Big raspberries and huge tartness on the nose and tongue. Finish lingers as raspberries are wont to do.
4.1 Very nice stuff, though having sought it out for so long it was a little bit of an overhyped. Also overshadowed by how much I liked the FV18 just before. Objectively awesome though still. Cherry and raspberry. Crackery lime vibe like lambics. Ruby red pour with good pink head and lacing. Tangy end. Tap at Sovereign.
3.6 Shared 12.7 oz. bottle poured to a snifter showing a clear, rosy color, with a presentable layer of white froth that reduced to a persistent ring, and spots of lacing. The nose presented an artificial raspberry scent with oaky hints, and ready tartness. Light to medium bodied, with decent spritz to the effervescence, the taste was fruity, sour, earthy, and dry, with a hint of vinegar. A definite palate scraper.
4.0 Bottle. Pours a bright red with a small pinkish head. Aroma of fruit and barnyard. Taste is tart raspberries, funk, stone fruit, and oak. Enjoyed the level of tartness. Delicious.
3.8 Draft. Reddish pour. Hate to be the one to say it but this batch is nailpolish remover heavy, some berries in there, but nail polisy, i hope other people get it and taste beyond the hype. Retrate 2020. Bottle. Pours a reddish hue, bright sour raspberry aroma, flavor is aggressively sour raspberry juice, not a huge funk, tangy wild yeast, not much acetone.
3.7 We had this at the Bavarian Lodge in Lyle Illinois November 2018 this is a very unusual beer it is the sour but it also has a smoky flavor to it
4.2 10 oz pour on draft at Rustico Ballston. Served in a tulip. Pinkish red with off-white head. Aromas of red wine, berries. Tastes of raspberries, berries, funk, wine, oak, tart notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Tasty.
4.2 draft at sams quik shop. deep red pour with a spritzy fast fading head. Nose is deeply funky, oak, lots of raspberry. Taste shows lots of sour character with lots of fruit to back it up. Very well done, like most beers from this exceptional brewery.
3.7 big authentic raspberry. big wood character. reddish tinge. bold flavour. thanks dave
3.6 On tap at the brewery. Dark murky red with a biege thin head that fades to a thin ring. Fresh raspberries, sour, bit of lacto, some sulphur and Epson salt, moderate carbonation and body, slightly dry and tart on finish.
4.4 On tap at Beer Run. Aromas are very much towards a framboise, raspberries, funk, barnyard. Clear red with a mostly lasting pink head. Dry, tart, funky, fruity. Light-medium bodied.
3.8 Draft at Good Dog. Cloudy red pour. Slim fizzy ring. Raspberries. Oak. Currants. Sour cherry. Wild strawberries. Tart and juicy. Nice full earthy berries.
3.9 From a bottle shared at Matt's. Pink in color with some tartness and apricot cherry
3.8 Goods from the Garden at Spuyten Duyvil on draught: pours bright red with a white head. Aroma is fruity and dirty basements. Taste is super tart, fruity, interesting finish. Subtle raspberry notes. Good.
3.3 Pours a beautiful golden-red with a white head. Huge aromas of port and raspberries. Tingly mouthfeel. Tart taste...whew! Raspberry and cherry flavors.
3.7 Bottle droma trade. Moderately lactic nose. Medium level of citrus nose. Light citrus tart. Taste is lightly fruity with a strong tartness. Nice.
4.0 Rami Rami is drinking a Coolship Red by Allagash Brewing Company at De Heeren van Liedekercke Lyczek. Fajnie owocowe, rzeskie, troche chyba pestek... zaskakujaco drozdzowe.
4.1 Bottle from 2014. Pours quite hazy red, small white fizzy head that disappears fairly quickly leaving some lacing. Aroma is loaded with funk, basement must, hint of mushroom, wet leaves, some berries, barnyard. Flavor is light tart with a hint of residual sweetness and a fairly pronounced funk. Medium body, soft carbonation. Quite good.
3.8 Pours clear raspberry into a tulip. Pink head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Lactic raspberry funk aromas. Sharp carbonation with mildly tart lactic raspberry upfront turning to bitter seeds before the medium length aspirin finish.
4.0 This beer is a hazy bright purplish-pink color with a medium pinkish-white head that burns away steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of oak, tart berry, yeast and malt. Medium body with an oaky tart raspberry character, and notes of herbal yeast and doughy malt in the background. The finish is tart with a lingering raspberry and oak aftertaste. Good beer all around.
3.6 Bottle: Poured a reddish color beer with a nice pink foamy head with limited retention and some light lacing. Aroma of tart notes with cherry notes and light oak presence. Taste is also dominated by tart notes with cherry and oak notes with some more dominant then expected acidity. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but maybe more acidic notes then I cared for.
4.0 375mL bottle. Pours bright, vibrant red with almost no head (white). Aroma is raspberry, funk, vanilla, oak, and almond. Taste is tart raspberry jam, funk, hay, oak, light vanilla, light apricot, some pils malt, some wheat, and just a little bit of cobweb. Hazy funk and some light almond lingers. Some lactic. Lightly vinous. Dry. Medium body. Lively, medium carbonation. Crisp mouthfeel - with some wheat to the palate.
3.7 Ruby red pour, looks great. Super thin head. Aroma of berries and fruit. Lively carbonation. Dry finish. Lots of raspberry, some almond and vanilla as well. Hints of oak, a little hay and grass. Some tartness, but I didn't find it overwhelming. Light bodied. No lace.
4.9 Funky and delicious. The labels says it’s made with raw bunnies but I think that’s a lie.
3.7 Bottle. Pours a reddish orange hue with a small white head. A big sour woody nose. Sharp, sawdust, cherry, lemons, tart. Very good. Smooth.
3.9 [2/5/17] Bottle at Amit’s place in Poughkeepsie. Thanks Amit. Red, slightly pinkish head. Great juicy raspberries aroma, with funk, oak, some cobwebs. Sour flavor, juicy, oak, vanilla note, acetic note. Medium-bodied. Slightly too acidic, but still great stuff.
4.1 Shared from bottle thanks to Maakun! Hazy coral red with no head retention. Fruity and Cantillon-like nose and aroma’s. Raspberries, fruitstones, cherries, brier, grapes, rose and white wine. Lactic sour. Hay, barnyard, cobwebs. Big fruity sweetness, quite strong sour and fruitstone bitter. Medium body, minerallike and fruitjuice feel. Very tasty, very fruity.
4.1 Bottle shared. Hazy dark pink to light red with light pink fizzy head that leaves no trace. Lots of tart raspberries, soft red wine, oak, hay, funk, light lactic. Quite fruity and lots of hay, but also light cellar dank funk, and some sweet milky notes. Medium sour and some underlying sweetness, with soft bitter grassy finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Very nice, close to Cantillon Rosé, though slightly more lactic and vinous and less fruity. Well done
3.6 Bottle... Pours murky and orange with ruby highlights. The aroma features bushels of fresh raspberries. Full-bodied with adequate carbonation. Starts out deliciously tart and fruity up front, then becomes bready, lightly bitter, metallic and grainy. This is very good right up until the flat, semi-unpleasant finish. Bottle courtesy of the Palm Beach County crew!
4.2 Bottled 12/21/2015, drunk 6/25/16. Deep, bright, raspberry-red with light auburn and magenta hues. High clarity and a pink-flecked, light beige head showing strong retention. It’s very interesting to see the same beer (with different fruit additions) and the same bottling date (as the recent Coolship Cerise) have such a distant (relatively speaking) release date (some 3 months apart). But that’s "lambic" for you. Luscious, juicy raspberries are boisterous and acidic in the nose, with tons of fleshy character and a good phenolic, seed-character to dry it out. Vanilla, wood, citrus and mild lactic-acetic qualities all show a wonderfully balanced nose that doesn’t go overboard on the fruit. No alcohol or flaw. A medium body, replete with wheat-like textures and a very engaging, fine carbonation. Some light sweetness remains and balances the fruit and bacteria acidity nicely. Not overly funky, but much more reserved/elegant than a typical American sour. Raspberries are one of my least favorite fruit additions for beer, as I feel they dominate the beer and provide too much acidity often, but this is about as good as it gets for this fruit.
