Allagash Tripel Reserve

Allagash Tripel Reserve

This golden hued ale is marked by passion fruit and herbal notes in the aroma, with subtle suggestions of banana and honey surfacing from its deep and complex palate. The Tripel's finish is remarkably long and soothing.

3.6 12 ounce bottle. Pours a mostly clear gold with a nice white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, and spice. Taste is banana, stone fruit, berries, yeast, and spice. Nice.
3.0 Aroma of Belgian yeast, sour notes, and gooseberry. Taste is similar, and spicy.
3.5 @ Gammelgårdsvägen 4011-21. Bottle from Systembolaget. Yeasty, fruity and spicy. Body is medium, dry and spicy finish.
3.6 Bottle web SB 2021-10-26 Göteborg AR: light citrus, yeasty, wee banana, sweet , herbal grass AP: clear coppery, wee white head F: light citrus, yeasty, wee banana, sweet , herbal grass,
4.0 Ljust gul, klar. Syrligt, fruktig doft. Blandad fruktsmak, med inslag av mandel. Citrus, mango o passionsfrukt. Lätt beska balanserar helheten.
3.8 Golden color, small white head. Aromas of yeast, bananas, wheat, citrus, alcohol and spices. Taste of yeast, citrus, alcohol, spices and slight bananas.
3.7 Flaska från systembolaget. Gyllengul öl med vitt skum. Trevlig öl med fina toner av örter, kryddor, jäst och mogen banan. Torr fin avslutning.
4.5 Passion fruit, banana, honey, pear.
2.5 Ljust halmgul vätska med vitt och tjockt skum. Fruktig, jästig och lätt kryddig arom. Saftig i smaken utan originalets mer komplexa smak. Eldig men ändå relativt kort eftersmak. Typisk wannabe-försök av jänkare men långt från de belgiska förlagorna.
3.7 @ Havregatan 20211008. Bottle (355 ml) from Systembolaget. Malty, fruity, yeasty and spicy, medium body with a watery texture. The finish is dry.
5.0 Procured at Gerrard’s Market from Redlands, California for $11.99, Allagash Tripel is a Belgian-style golden ale with passion fruit and honey brewed by Allagash Brewing Company from Portland, Maine. The smell of Belgian yeast, passion fruit, pear, honey, and coriander are noted as you drink. The appearance is a yellow gold that pours a two finger white head with decent retention and lacing. When held up to light, high carbonation shows. The alcohol content is 9.2%. Belgian yeast fairly creams the drink, gently spices the take, and relatively dries the pear finish. Banana accompanies the Belgian yeast, and slightly weighs the body. Caramel malt blends with the Belgian yeast and banana tandem. Honey lightly sweetens the body, felt upon the mouthfeel, and tasted when you lick your chops. Passion fruit softly tarts the take, and colors the Belgian yeast, banana, and honey combination. Orange peel adds a slight pithiness to the take, and coalesces with the honey and caramel mixture. Coriander tints the Belgian yeast, honey, caramel malt, and orange peel solution. Clove fairly peppers the comprehension, and lingers into the finish. As the beer warms, green apples becomes sensible with the pear and honeyed finish. Allagash Tripel is a magnificent Belgian-style golden ale. Belgian yeast, pear, banana, caramel malt, honey, passion fruit, orange peel, coriander, clove, and green apple combine into a effervescent craft beer. Passion fruit and orange peel colors the Belgian yeast, banana, caramel malt, and honey body. The coriander and honey blends with the caramel malt, followed by the peppery clove. The pear, green apple, honey, clove, and Belgian yeast mixture leaves a lasting impression to the finish. I cherished every single drink, and enjoyed the complexity of passion fruit and orange peel upon an Belgian Tripel base. Cheers. Prost. Drink for the love of beer. 3.9 Appearance is golden, with a small white fizzy head. Aroma is spicy fruit, orange peel, caramel, floral hints. Taste is honey sweetness, boozy hints, toffee, orange peel, bitter hops, spicy Belgian yeast, peppery hops, lengthy finish. Full-flavoured, good.
3.9 Thin foamy white head soon left a spotty cover on an unclear light amber coloured body. Spiced, coriander, sweet citrus & peppery aroma. Medium bodied, tingly & smooth in the back. Yeasty, spiced, banana & sweet citrus tastes with a long peppery hoppy finish. Tripel is my favourite style. This is truly am excellent one but as a critique I would say it's slightly sweeter than the Belgian classics & the head is pathetic. Overall though - First Class!
5.0 Sweet fruity not acerbic
3.9 Sligh haze golden colour with a white head. Citrus clove funk aroma. Clove banana yeast flavor. Medium body.
4.0 2 finger white meringue head over very pale yellow gold base. Cloudy but slow stream of bubbles. Minor lacing. Spicy fresh cloves? or some seasoning aromatics. Different - certainly not an ordinary mass market beer. The tang of hop/yeast is punctuated and disappears but leaves a tingling on the tongue. Sweet more than bitter flavor enhanced by the fizzy fluid and accompanying, comforting ABV. This beer is in an elevated class. Finish is medium to tastefully strong.
3.5 Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. As just 'Tripel'. Sweet yeasty aroma - makes me think of a Hefe: banana and cloves. Light gold. Foamy translucent white head. Light-medium bitter. Grainy. Boozy. Spice. A sour fruity citrus edge. Underlying honey nutty sweetness. Light bodied. Slick if thin. Prickly fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. It's decent if not overly memorable.
3.7 355ml bottle from Cloudwater Online Shop (£5.50): Golden with slightly darker tinges in areas & a thin, foamy white head covering the surface with a touch of lacing on the glass. The nose is fruity, slightly floral with pears, a little yeast but it's not overly pronounced really. It's strongly carbonated & light with pear, yeast & subtle citrus before some banana flavours come through. It's fluffy & balanced with the alcohol well hidden & some spice to close; pleasant but there's plenty better Belgian tripel's if go for over this one.
4.0 Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 16/02/21. Had this 1.4K rates beer in a restaurant in the states in the late noughties ... took till now to catch up with it! Moderately hazed golden orange with a well presented, lasting, just off white cap. Nose is Belgian yeast esters, candied fruit rinds, stewed fruits, light spice, grains. Taste comprises stewed fruits, caramel, candy peel, yeast esters, light white peppery spice, prunes, straw, grains, soft malts, light booze tunes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a suggestion of alcohol. Solid exponent of the style ... one I don't normally seek out. Good balance, a little boosty buzz and never too sweet, which is what often puts me of a Tripel.
4.1 Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Hazed straw gold. Fine, dense white head. Nose has honeyed grain. Stewed fruit. Banana bread. Flowery hop leaf. Taste is rich and sweet initially. Turns yeasty and dry bitter. Super smooth mouthfeel. A little slick. Fine carbonation. Spicy hop bitterness to finish.
4.0 Bottle at home, 1st January 2021. Pours a clean golden straw colour. Aroma is honey, straw, light spice, hoppy citrus. Taste is honey, straw, yeast, light spice, clean and very drinkable, nice hoppy tripel
3.8 From a 355ml bottle on 1/12021 (simply labelled Allagash Tripel). Pours a slightly opaque light golden with a small head. Has a light spicy, typical Belgian yeasty aroma. Taste wise, it's very smooth and easy drinking for the size - you get sweet fruit, spice, wood, a little banana/clove and a honeyed, slightly yeasty finish. The mouthfeel is a touch slick the carbonation average. A very nice, well balanced big Belgian ale.
4.1 Bottle from Cloudwater online store. Vibrant hazed gold with a white head. Aromas are full of fruitiness. Apple Juice and pastilles. White bread and pepper. Warming spice. A fantastic presentation of a Belgian beer. Slick full body. Sharp moderate carbonation. Dry finish. Delicious.
3.9 Bottle at home picked up from HOTM. A clear mid golden colored pour with a fine white head. Aroma is nice clean pils grains, woody bark, light apple, some alcohol , Belgian spicy yeast esters,. Flavour is composed of clean pils, bitter oak, light spice, dried apple, honey, Some warming alcohol in the finish. Palate is semi crisp, haggish carbonation . Alcohol bite. Very good tripel.
3.9 Bottle from HoTM. It pours light hazy bright gold with a thick fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet honeyed grain, cereal, nougat, honey oat bread, pear drops, melon, hay and a touch of spice. The taste is initially smooth, bitter - sweet, rich honeyed cereal, bready malts, touch of sponge cake, nougat, honey cake, mid palate dryness, some spice, grass, hay, fruitiness and some alcohol warmth through the finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Rounded and flavourful. A well crafted tripel. Moreish and has stood the test of time as a quality beer.
3.8 Bottle. Gold with a dense white head. Aroma of honeyed dough, passionfruit, oranges and their blossoms. Creamy texture with moderate carbonation. (Perhaps slightly too) sweet with fruit and honeyed dough before spicy bitterness and a lick of booze rein things in. Gently powerful. A really good tripel.
3.9 Drank from bottle. Yeah I'd buy mango on the nose. Cinnamon maybe clove in the mouth. Fairly spicy. Drinks easier than the ABV would suggest.
4.1 Bought in Atascadero
3.0 Bottle. Belgian ale with typical spicy aroma and flavor. Smoother than its 9.0% ABV would suggest. Still not my bag, as I prefer a citrusy, hoppy IPA.
