Almanac Farmer's Reserve Pluot

Almanac Farmer's Reserve Pluot

Pluots are some of our favorite fruits. Created by cross-breeding apricots and plums, there are dozens of varieties with an amazing range of color and flavor. All through the summer, Blossom Bluff Orchards picks each variety at its peak: Dapple Dandy, Honey Punch, Flavor Queen, Black Kat & Dapple Jack were all added to a sour blonde ale and aged in wine barrels to create this funky oak-aged brew.

4.1 Backlogi z kilku ostatnich tygodni - ciąg dalszy. Intensywna śliwka, czysta, cytrynowa kwasowość, leciutkie lacto i ocet śliwkowy. Pyszne!
4.6 Pluots are definitely a first for me - both in general and in the world of beer. In Almanac’s Farmer’s Reserve Sour, they end up tasting vibrant, tart, and citrusy. This brew has an unusual blonde-orange-pink color and the head is very short-lived because the high level of acidity. This is a bright, spritzy brew that will wake your palate right the hell up. Beats the hell out of Mimosa as a breakfast drink.
3.7 DRaught at Himmeriget. Hazy amber coloured with a small white head. Fruity and light acidic aroma of barnyard. Light acidic flavour of barnyard and berries. Tart finish.
3.7 Bottle. A- Tart, subtle saline solution, citrus. A- Pale orange red color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Tart, mild plum, mild apricot, subtle vinegar. P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, refreshing finish. O- Perfect beer to start off a Sunday morning brunch. Not much funk like most in this series. Not sure what a pluot is but it had a plum and apricot like taste. Looked and smelled more like grapefruit juice. Good and refreshing.

4.1 Bottle at WTWBA 2016. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Very tart pluot taste. This is killer.
4.2 Bottle from grownfool - thanks! I got a lot of white and an unidentifiable fruit aroma and flavor which I’m guessing is pluot. So, apparently I like pluots. Nicely thin bodies and effervescent. I get a touch of oak, too. Nice stuff!
4.4 Thick opaque and creamy apricot and date sorta hue, small white head; turbid as hell and looks like funky juice. BUT it smells like funky juice as well. Delightful Jose of plum and bright wild saccharomyces sourness and a touch of white wine. Surprisingly crisp but huge sour flavor that’s encompassing the whole palate and feels slightly creamy, in a good way. Lots of sour and slightly puckering but also comes with plum, lots of date, and a really flavorful wild tartness that ties it all together really beautifully. Incredible.
4.7 Bottle shared with friends at poker. Sour like I love a sour. Plums and more acidic sour fruit. That sour finish was perfect
3.8 Bottle from a trip to Vegas. Pours orange straw with a white head. Aroma is mild... White grape, plum, oak. Flavor is far more punchy than aroma, bright lemon, white grape, plum skin, oak. Nice funk. Strong acidity in the finish.
3.3 375 ml bottle split 2 ways shared by Willrunforbeer, much thanks. Cloudy golden color with a pink hue. The aroma is sweet and sour. This fruit seems to be more powerful then brett yeast and oak. Sweet. The flavor shows a great balance of the same sweet and sour yet does hit me with the sharp pucker in the glands. Wasn’t expecting that at all after such a mild aroma. Strong oak sharpness with acid reflex. Not sure how much of this I would want to drink in a sitting.
4.1 Tap at propig. Pours orange light head and light lacing. Nose is fruity and tart. Flavored of tart frui. Taste med sour light sweet. Medium body lively carbonation.
3.9 Bottle. Pours a hazed golden amber with a medium sized white head. Big funk on the nose, fruit and a bit of a fruit, with a mineral note. Medium bodied, slightly acetic with a lot of bright tangy acid, tart pluot flavors, wood and funk. Long acid on the finish, tart and tangy, lingering fruit. Pretty tasty.
4.2 Cloudy appearance. Very thin white collar. Hazy grapefruit color. Aroma consist of apricot, plums, and orange zest. 7\10 on sour scale. Lively carbonation. Salty. Slight apricot taste more in the finish. Finish lingers well after the initial drink. Refreshing for sure. There is lime in the taste. I sure do love sours and this one did not disappoint.
3.6 A refreshing sour that shocks the taste buds and tickles the throat on the way down. Sour plum and smooth oak finish.
4.1 Pours hazy gold into a tulip - looks like a cider. White frothy head recedes to mottle surface. Apricot and plum aromas. Tart and lactic initially turning quickly to sweet apricot before turning dry in the lasting plum and marshmallow finish. Nice.
4.5 Bottle from Whole Foods PM. Pours bright golden copper colored with white head. Nose is tart fruit, pluot, tart acidity, hops. Tastes tart, acidic, with notes of pluot, stronger toward the plum, some oak, wine grapes, and a complex finish. I liked the apricot a bit better, but this one also kicks ass.
