Almanac Golden Gate Gose

Almanac Golden Gate Gose

Our Golden Gate Gose is a special draft-only beer inspired by the classic wheat beer hailing from Leipzig, Germany. Traditionally brewed with salt and coriander, our tart California-inspried version is brewed with San Francisco Bay sea salt, lemon verbena and coriander grown especially for us by Dirty Girl Produce in Santa Cruz, California. Fermented with our house saison yeast, this delicate and tart beer is a perfect summer refresher. Pair with fresh seafood and sunshine. [Alias with Flowering Gose?]

3.4 Tap, my 500th US beer. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is sea-salty besides that rather clean, a bit lemony maybe. Taste is sea salt, lemony, some coriander. Medium carbonation. Very refreshing. Fun Gose, I like the sea aroma in this one.
3.1 Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with large frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong sea salt, floral, yeast. Medium body, strong salt, yeast, wheat, light crisp finish, good.
3.3 Bottle, batch 1698. Pours slightly hazy golden, with a small rocky head. Aroma is light spicy notes of wheat, yeast, herbal notes of soap and rose petals, as well as some salty whiffs. Medium body, with very soft carbonation. Flavour is tart, with light lactic acid, lemon peel, hay and salt.

3.9 draught@Erzbierschof - clear bronze beer with a firm moderately long lasting white foam; very aromatic herbal and honeyish aroma; tart; juicy palate, quite tasty, medium-bodied, light sweetness and a late saltiness; tart and decently dry, sour and salty fruity and herbal finish
3.7 Tasted from the tap on the 18/09/2016. Clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma is sugary, apple, funky and spices. Taste is salty, coriander and sweet apples. Next one please!
3.2 Tap @ C4. Clear golden body with a small white head. Tart, citrus, hints of salt, yeast.
2.8 Tap @ C4, Odense. Pours clear golden with a white head. Dusty malty and salty. Medium bodied.
3.3 Tap c4. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of acid, herbal, coriander, wheat, sugary in way. Taste is fruity, lemon, lactic, light green apples. Wired in some way, but decent for a style I dislike.
2.2 The aroma is full of wheat, lemon, corainder and spices. The color is copper gold. The taste is full of wheat, lemon, coriander and acidic apples. Not my kind of beer
2.8 Clear and golden in appearance. Rather bland and weak. Slight tartness and a dry finish.
3.1 A nice beer to look at, this gose lacks a lot in every other category. Its aroma is not very appealing and is actually kind of a drawback to the beer, and its taste and its aftertaste are both pretty weak.
3.4 Crystal clear, warm golden color with steadfast white head. It smells like you’re sitting in a sunny meadow after an afternoon of cartwheeling. Sweat, mineral water, and light floral, fruity notes. Rose petals, rainier cherries, a hint of apricot. Refreshing. Quite fizzy when it first hits the tongue. Full-bodied, yet light and springy, the mouthfeel more than the flavor, is how you experience this gose. The flavor is very delicate, floral, with a honeyed sweetness and lingering flavors of bubble gum and pineapple. The light salty sourness keeps you coming back. I am new to the gose style, but this seems a fitting introduction. Lacking some complexity, but a refreshing quaffer nonetheless.
3.5 Golden (EBC6), opal, white head. Aromas of wet wheat, mineral, lemon zest and a whaff of coriander. Soft carbonation, mildly thin texture, light bodied. Lemon zest, light sour-salty, tart with a hint of residual sweetness. Lasting tart finish. Refreshing!
3.5 Bottle. Clear golden yellow with an average whit head and decent lacing. Aroma is coriander, lemon, yeast, and faint citrus. Taste is lemons, citrus, coriander, and salt. Light and fairly well balanced.
2.6 Draught at Atwoods Tavern, 6/16/16. Soft, minimally hazy, straw-golden body is topped by a small amount of white head that fades rather quickly to a ring. Musty cellar notes, with very deep lactic hints mix with quite an abundance of spicing, most prominently coriander. Grainy, somewhat, with a good dose of salinity and a lot of grassiness. Light lemon oil-like notes on the finish with no alcohol or flaw. Moderate carbonation is a bit fizzy, and the beer is very given to the spicing. Heavy coriander flavor adding spice and tons of grassiness, which creates some astringency, especially in the face of the sparse, somewhat grainy/husky malts. Very dry with salt and lactic acid notable. Needs a much better malt structure and less spice.
3.0 From the 22 oz bottle: Golden orange with bright white bubbles that disappear quickly. Smells of lemon, hints of rose, wet blankets. The flavor is tart without being very fruit forward, it seems to carry some dark wheat characteristics (dark caramel, banana, biscuit). It’s pretty good but I think it’s a little thin.
3.3 Aroma: lemon, herbal, salty, light spicy Taste: salty, light sour, herbal, light lemon
2.5 This beer could use more tartness and more saltiness, because it’s lacking in both. Dirty, a little cardboardy, light citrus. Not great.
3.7 Nice very mild sourness, very clean, low carbonation. Easy drinking intro to sours. Not quite at the sourness level id like. BevMo SF.
4.0 On tap at McGillicuddy’s, Williston, VT. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a light transparent yellow color with some carbonation rising at a nice pace. No head and obviously no lacing. The smell started off with lemon, lime, lightly rimmed salt. The "sour-ed" wheat portion is extremely light but really good. The taste was sour through the wheat portion. Saltiness balances appropriately. Lemon and lime come back - slightly bitter yet tart. Nicely structured citrusy aftertaste. Finishes pleasantly balanced between the citrus and salt. On the palate, this one was definitely light bodied which gave it a great sessionability. Since the "sour-ness" is tame enough, the sessionability really becomes spectacular. Overall, if this is canned, I’d want cans for fishing this Summer. Really great gose!
3.3 Bought in a liquor store in Belmont, CA. Clear golden in the glass. Taste starts malty with citrus, in the second row some salty elements and sourness. Increasung citrus in the middle part. Getting dry to the end. A nice one of its kind.
3.4 Shared bottle at RB Crete tasting at Nikos place, Chania. Pours clear golden with a small head. Aroma is weak fruity, with yeast and spices. Taste is light dry fruity, almost impossible to detect salt here, just a delicious accentuation of the dry fruityness, nice.
3.8 On draft at Small Bar, Bristol. A classic example of a Gose -- slightly salty, slightly tart, but held together by a great balance that keeps everything light and refreshing. Maybe it was drinking it in the West Country, but it gave me a lot of cider flavor, like tart apples. Quite good.
3.4 Bottle. Moderate grain and straw for the malt, light grass and musty for the hops and yeast, with hints of vinegar. Head is small, fizzy, white, with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear, but murky on the last pour, light to medium amber. Flavor starts moderately to heavily acidic and acetic and a touch salty, then finishes moderately acidic and sour, and again salty. Palate is light, watery with a soft to lively carbonation and a tart finish. Not quite on the money regarding the style, but this Gose is plenty tasty for a go to beer.
3.5 650 ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Almost clear yellow golden color with off white head. Malty and yeasty aroma, grainy, caramel, citrusy fruity, spicy, herbal, salty. Sweet light bitter and light salty taste. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.
