3.9Restrained hoppiness in the nose, pale malts, resinous notes some fruitiness. Medium body with some slickness. Flavor on the sweet side with a restrained bitterness. Bitter finish. Great IPA, with the hops, malt and yeast all contributing to the flavor.
3.412oz can from Hopt, France. Pours gold, medium transparency, with fine white foam. Aroma Is intensely citrus, a little resinous. Body is a little on the thin side, with average carbonation. Taste is pretty bitter, persistent also in the final.
3.3So, I want to give this beer a 5, and it is still probably my favorite, but they seem to have had a major quality control issue recently. The last 5 six packs I've purchased have been pretty flat. I've messaged the brewery, but haven't called. They're either producing flat beer or, they've switched to cheaper, thinner aluminum cans that aren't protecting the beer properly. So sad.
Having said that, this beer used to be close to perfect. That is the best way I can describe it: properly full in flavor, the right amount of bitterness, great feel and just delicious, with no strange/odd, overly funky flavors or burntness.
. . . when it's flat, it's not horrible (reminds me of visiting England in the '90s), but weird. If I hear back from the brewery, I'll update/correct this review.
Soberbia.
4.0I used to get this at O'Brien's and Liars Club in San Diego a decade ago. We used to joke that we could "Duet" all night long. A solid IPA with nice mix of malts and hops worthy or going back to again and "do it" again.
3.3Can. Clear golden color with small head. Hoppy and citrus aroma. Starts with pineapple, orange flavor with hoppy bitterness but not too citrusy. Lasting bitterness in the aftertaste.
4.2Amb el nas de seguida es nota que la cosa promet. Tope hoppy amb notes de pi i citriques. Gust amb préssec, mango, resinosa. Final amb bona amargor que perdura amb el punt just i convida a beure més. West Coast de manual. Super bona i equilibrada
4.2Citrus followed some pines. Abit of peach and apricot. Mellow bitterness. Grassy finish. Extremely quaffable. Very well balanced.
3.4Can from Etre. Clear golden with decent head. Malty cookie sweetness, some pine, orange marmalde. Mellow bitterness. A bit old and stale, but pretty tasty.
4.2Kills it
4.2Ipa achetée chez Saveur Bière. Ipa de type West Coast, bien faite. Assez classique du style sans le transcender. Facilement bue.
3.7Clear golden. Medium thick head that laces the glass.
The aroma has a hint of that thing I don't love in some IPAs, but not enough to turn me off of the beer; could be slightly too old. Otherwise it smells a bit sweet and citrusy, but not an explosion of aroma.
The taste starts with malty sweetness and citrus. Then you get some pine. Then a bit more caramel sweetness. And finally a piney dry/bitter aftertaste.
I classic embodiment of the pre-IBU-wars San Diego IPA.
3.8From a can to a glass. pours a clear amber color with a big frothy creamy silky head. Aroma is earthy spice hops with a hint of pine and some sweet malts and slight caramel notes. Medium mouthfeel. Well constructed decent but slightly run of the mill west coast style Ipa.
3.5Keg at The Local Eatery & Drinking Hole, San Diego, CA on 21/04/2008. A really nice, quite sprucy and slightly herbal nosed IPA, with citrus peal flavours.
3.812 fl oz can.
Appearance: Almost clear bright gold, with a finger of white froth which persisted only for a minute.
Aroma: Citrus hops plus rind and pine and woody notes.
Taste: Light sweetness of citrus, over massive pine and resin bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, very consistent, low to average carbonation.
Overall: Big West Coast IPA with all the sharp bitterness and floral hoppy flavours.
4.0On tap at The Pullman, San Francisco Bay on 29-Jan-2020 - served in a shaker. Hazy orange amber pour with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of malt, citrus and pine. Medium body with soft/medium carbonation. Taste of sweet malt, caramel, peach, pineapple, orange and floral hops. A pretty decent IPA.
4.1Herrlich hopfig in der Nase, Pinien. Im Trunk sehr lecker, Pinie, erdig, hopfig, harzig, dann leichte Frucht, hinten trocken, toll.
5.0Muy buena ipa
Un cuerpo realmente intenso
Sabor con toques de pino
3.9Can pour into nonic pint glass from Total Wine & More, Danvers. Appearance is lightly hazy piss yellow with nice sparkle, finger-width foamy off-white head with fair retention and mild leggy lacing. Aroma is pine and milder citrus. Taste follows aroma with malt backbone. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin texture, average-to-lively carbonation and crisp, dry finish as taste with lingering pleasant moderate bitterness. Overall, a little past its ideal freshness period (canned 7/26/19) but features are in harmony with one another. Though the world of IPA's has moved on from this, it must have been quite something when it was added almost 14 years ago and remains a classic. Well crafted and pleasant.
3.9Draft @ Pacific Beach Alehouse, San Diego. Almost clear golden, foamy white head. Nicely balanced pine and grapefruit on top of clean malts, crisp medium bitter: classic altogether. Medium body and carbonation.
4.0nice brew quenching and refreshing with bitter, citrus and golden wheat malt flavor and body. some sweetness and touch of resin.
3.7Exceptional balance to this beer. Nice lingering pine bitterness, a little grass and bitter orange peel. Easy drinking. Clear gold.
4.0Bottle from liquor shop in Alpine - the brewery wanted our ID, which we forgot, so ... I dont know, America. Anyway, so worth the detour. perfectly westcoast hopped IPA, perfect bitterness, perfectly balanced. I dont need anything else...
4.0On tap pour. Very thin head. Beautiful copper and orange color. Wonderful mouth with vibrant hops yet still some malt. Really good balance. One of the better ipas in a while. Great!
4.2klassisch verwestcoasted mit all the funny ipaeasyness...means crisp, clearmalty, cakey and alphabitter...nice!!! Tap Stuff...Lake Tahoe...FRESHIES...
4.2Smells of floral hops, citrus, and slight dankness. Slighty hazy golden orange with slight tan head. Taste is very balanced, very refreshing amalgamation of hops, grain, citrus, malts, not very fruity, a traditional representation of a beer. Taste of quality. No fancy flavoring, just a good refreshing beverage.
4.2(near 9/10, car ça c’est de la super IPA, généreuse, superbe nez qui engage à boire, belles fleurs, pin, super bien foutue)
3.9Pours a slight hazy orange gold color. One finger, thick white head. Good retention and okay lacing.
Aroma is pine, and spruce. Orange peel, orange, touch of grapefruit.
Taste is kinda sweet. Biscuit and cracker.
Orange peel, light grapefruit, light mango.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Surprisingly light for such a high ABV beer. Crisp and dry. Decent bitterness on the back end. Well balanced.
Overall a really good beer. Well done. I would recommend it and I would buy it again.
