Alpine Beer Company Hoppy Birthday

Alpine Beer Company Hoppy Birthday

Hoppy Birthday is known as “The world’s most celebrated beer.” A Pale Ale, it benefits from a heavy dose of dry-hopping and is truly a gift to the senses. This bold brew has an intense hop-bitterness, but the pine aroma is the star of the show. With a “world-class” ranking from BeerAdvocate, you should definitely enjoy Hoppy Birthday more than once a year.

4.4 Can 12 fl oz. Clear golden with a white head. Strong fruity hoppy aroma. What a great taste, pine, citrus, bitter, but not too much. Medium length. So much beer and not stronger than 5,3% alc/vol. Could easily be one of my favorite beers this summer.
3.3 Heldere gouden kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt fruitig. Smaakt fruitig.
3.8 Draft at Hops and Pie Hops Fest 6-20-15
3.7 October 5th, 2015 - We're a little less than a month away from my birthday which was hoppy with other brews, but this would have been a fine choice for a full day of celebration. Somehow both a rusty red color but with a shade of paleness, it is a good smelling beer, with a sessionable freshness, with a fresh, shaggy malt note. It is paired with a great flavor too, with that rusty metallic note I first detected back when Killian's Red was the rage, and a brilliantly fresh flavor. Metallic and grapefruit notes give some bitterness and character, and above all, enjoyable drinkability.

3.7 Knew nothing of this brew. Found at a little mini mart in Ballard, last bottle for $2.59. Golden color, resinous piney hop aroma. Flavor is similar to the aroma. Full bodied with a bit of a silky palate. Strong hop flavor and bitterness, but the relatively low abv. at 5.3 make this sessionable. Because of the low abv, but the big bold hop flavor that last throughout I would reach for this one again.
3.5 0,33l bottle from Pien Iso-Omena, Espoo. Almost clear light amber beer with small head. Aroma has peach and other sweet fruits, malt and caramel. Taste has malt, caramel, hops and peach. Drier pine and bitterness does also exist at the end. Medium body. Good one.
3.8 Bottle. Clear golden colour. Well-lacing head. Aroma: pine, citrus fruit, pale malts, liquorice (?). Medium minus body. Taste: neutral malts, resin, pine, grapefruit. Very clean. Medium bitter. Very solid.
3.8 Amber with medium white head. Malty aroma. Quite strong mild bitterness on malty background, citrusy notes.
3.6 Bottle 355ml at home. From Pien. Pours clear golden, white head. Sweetish malts, caramel, fruity hops, pine. Medium body, average carbonation, faint bitterness in finish.
3.6 Botella @Singulario, Santiago de Compostela 18/08/2018 Color amarillo espuma blanca, aromas a pino, resinosa, sabor maltosa, pino, final amargo y seco.
3.4 Pours rather clear blonde, small white head. Smell is bit resinous, very mild oxidation notes. Taste is bit to far gone in terms of oxidation. The freshness is already lost. Some resinous hops remain, and the beer doesn't taste like cardboard yet. However, I feel this one doesn't shine anymore the way it should.
3.6 Draught @ Alpine Beer Pub, Alpine. Pours yellow with a creamy white head. Aroma of malt, grass, fruity hops, citrus, pine. Flavor is bitter, malt, rather hoppy, citrus, pine. Medium body, average carbonation, dry and lasting bitter finish. 240718
3.9 Lovely fruitiness with nice pine kick, some grapefruit, herbal aspect. Moderate bitter all the way with quite dry finish
3.9 355 ml bottle. Golden-amber, clear body, with a medium, fluffy, lacing, off-white head. Aroma of pine needles, grapefruit, passion fruit, guava, some biscuit. Tastes similar, a bit less fruity. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes crisp, dry, bitter, piney, zesty, medium fruity, subtly sweet. Tasty. Crisp, fresh and very well balanced, with lovely pine notes throughout, supported by tropical fruits and just enough malt body. Beautiful, old-school SIPA.
3.6 Bottled. From Beer Republic. Poured clear golden color with a thin white head. Some resin, citrusy hops. Clean refreshing brew. Biting bitterness. Some pine notes in front, nice bodied.
3.5 Amber color, white head with good retention, some lacing. Aroma has notes of grapefruits, orange zest and resin hops. Favor is quite similar as aroma dominated by orange zest and pine. Bittery final, good maltiness, some fruitness.
3.6 Bottle from Cerveceria Polar, Madrid Stored chilled but not sure on BBE date Hazy mid golden-blonde with fluffy white head collapsing to lacing. West coast C-hop aromas. Well balanced, moderate bitterness; hop taste has faded not surprising if original batch but still tasting good. At upper end of SIPA range for me more of a hoppy APA.
3.9 Pours a clear classic golden with a dull white head. Vibrant nose comprised of onion, pine and pineapple. Biscuit malt and pine are primarily noted in the flavor profile. Drier than I would’ve expected.
4.3 Bottle. Golden with white foamy head that dissipates. Big resiny and dank aroma. Oily, floral hop, nutty malt, more honey resin than bitter. Long dank aftertaste. Really good ipa.
2.6 Bottle at The King & Co., Clapham. Hazy amber. Slightly out of date, so the hops had caramelised a little. Still, very nice and quaffable pale.
4.1 aroma:pine、grapefruit、floral, complex but not very strong flavor:fruity、pine、caramel、balanced mouthfeel:thin body、suitable carbonation overall:good and balanced beer but not hoppy
3.9 Draft from Growlers to Go in Short Pump, VA. The ale poured a clear Amber color with a white head with limited lacing. The aroma of pale malts and floral hops. The taste has more hop bitterness with some tropical fruit. This is an ale with a cocktail of bittering hops. The ale has a medium body and average carbonation. The finish is clean with lingering hops.
3.3 Bottle 12fl.oz. @ The Shnoodlepip, London. [ As Alpine Beer Company Hoppy Birthday ]. Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. 4.3 DATE: August 8, 2017... OCCASION: celebrating forty-one years of life and thanking God for them all... GLASSWARE: Brew at the Zoo pint... pours a sizzling copper body teaming with effervescence... the white head is thick with bubbles as well, stopping at a half-finger and holding resiliently... grapefruit, pine, mango, light caramel and tea leaves, with the promise that this is indeed well hopped but also concerned with a balanced profile... the first sip is smooth, balanced and lively enough to elicit attention... creamy as it curls around the tongue, an embrace that causes one to pull back and savor--definitely bigger than its 5.25% ABV!... the back end is memorable, with a lingering malt sensation... the body is substantial but not weighty, as a session should be, and its hops announce nicely at the teeth... the six-headed hop monster is put in its place by a caramel backbone, lasting and ringing in its strength... welcome bitterness bites at the tongue and teeth, with grapefruit, pine, lemon, bitters, and that unmistakable hop punch that makes me wish more than one of these was in the mystery mix pack I found it in... I would buy a case of this, gladly, and rank it above the last few sessions I’ve had--and they were good, too...
3.7 From tap at MBCC 2017. A hazy golden coloured beer with a white head. Aroma and flavour of citrus, grapefruit, hops, pine, malt and with a bitter finish.
3.6 Bottle at Murphy’s Law. Clear dark golden with off white head. Caramel, light cake, lots of weedy and grassy hops with some mango and lime. Just medium sweet and over medium bitter. Medium bodied. Quite nice!
