3.3Golden to amber color. Taller, fairly stable off-white head. Some small chunks and swinkles afloat in the sea of tiny bubble nucleation. Rather heavy sweet aromas with lightly toasted malt and dough. Some hints of light fruit and alcohol. Sweet candi start, touches of malt and hops work their way in. Quite bitter in the finish and into the linger with an interesting mix of overripe and under-ripe fruit. Just noticed that this is 11%, really quite well hidden. 6/11
3.4Botella 33 cl en el kraken octubre 2015. (r292).
Lekker bier. Uiterlijk is wat smoezelig door het gist.
3.7Piany praktycznie brak. Barwa herbaciana, lekko mętna. Aromat ciekawy, głównie słodowy, karmelowy, kandyzowany i estrowy - rodzynki, dojrzałe winogrono, głóg, w tle słodkie wino typu porto, sherry. W smaku półsłodkie i jednocześnie winne, delikatnie też taninowe i cierpkie. Generalnie powtórka smaków z zapachu, dość lepkie, pełne, nisko wysycone w odbiorze. Goryczka niska, ziołowo pestkowa, alkohol w likierowej formie, rozgrzewa, raczej nie przeszkadza.
Piwo przyjemne w aromacie, przez połączenie cukru kandyzowanego z lekko kwaskową winnością odrobinę męczące w smaku. Ogólnie ciekawy eksperyment.
3.5Poured from the bottle. Hazy yelloe-amber beer with a small head. Malt and sour cherry in the nose, malt, sour cherry and alcohol in the mouth. Good, different strong ale from this brewery famous for it’s sour beers.
3.2Hazy amber, big minus for gushing. Aroma: spices, hay, red apple (not aldehyde), yeast, orange, some sour notes. Heavy sweetness, heavy bitterness. Flavour is fruity with lots of spices. Bit alcoholic, but for 11% it’s quite all right.
3.9Keg at mother kellys. Pours deep reddish, nose is toffee, funky, oak, taste is similar, dry, bretty.
3.5Bottle @ Fermentoren, Aarhus, 11%. Clear dark amber with medium beige head. Aroma is malt, yeast, oak, wood, sour fruit and brett. Flavour is malt, caramel, yeast, wood, oak, brett, dry, sweet, warming, alcohol and medium bitter.
3.0Barley wine-like. Amber, minimal head. a bit gushing out f the bottle. Aroma has malts. It’s more bitter than mlts. Not that balanced. Alcohol hidden. Fair one.
3.633 cl. bottle. Unclear to muddy orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of spice, fruit, hops, yeast, alcohol and oranges.
3.8Bottle, pours hazy copper with a white head. Very complex brew, candy, berries, overripe grapes, pepper, currants, toffee, cinnamon, vanilla, dates. Quite boozy, feels like a barley wine with saison yeast. Interesting and very nice.
3.6Look: cloudy amber with yeast particles and big white head.
Aroma: wild, malty, toffee, with many spicy ethers.
Taste: sweet with fruity sourness and some astrigency.
Flavour: grape peel, wild yeast, rotten fruits, blue cheese, some spicy hops.
Good and strange.
3.4Bottle from Beergium. Pours hazy amber with massive white head that disappears quickly. Malty aroma with some spices, citrus and yeast. Lightly boozy and malty taste with caramel, spices and some red berries. Lightly bitter, long finish.
3.8Bottle. Pours a hazy amber colour with a HUGE head. Seriously - give this beer an ID...it’s alive. BIG bubbly head and impossible to pour in one go, but the head dissappears into nothing in a minute. Lots of yeast sediment. Aroma of malt, fruits and spices. Taste is of malts, caramel, lots of fruits and spicy as hell. Bitter finish. Super complex but a bit too boozy mouthfeel. A bit unbalanced but tastes rather well.
3.6Thank you! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2015. After nearly 80 Alvinne beers, I finally get around to trying this one. Deep amber, tanned head. Nose is carries odd sweet vinous qualities, lightly sour but with lots of candy, very sweet malts, spices, thick yeast. Taste is sweet candy with spoiled yeast, conflicting flavors, spices, candy, thick malts, spices, moldy old fruit,… A bit fizzy. Weird, conflicting but enjoyable. As for the odd vinous qualities I am pointing my finger at Morpheus yeast. I prefer this one as a base beer for Barrel Aging experiments. Still interesting, like a Belgian trying to become a vintage Barley wine of sorts.
3.3bottle sample during xmas festival. poured a hazy light brown colour with an off head. notes of alvinne yeast, dried fruits, candy sugar, and spice yeast. dried apricots, earthy plums. bit to alcoholic. medium mouthfeel
3.4Bottle at 100 piv. Quite boozy. Alcohol comes out unpleasantly and the beer does not have the classic Belgian finnesse which would hide it in plethora of flavours. This seems rather simple in comparison. There are dried fruits, burnt sugar and some spicy yeastiness, but ethanol takes the shine. Meh. Poorly drinkable though not entirely bad.
3.6Bottle from 100 piv. hazy brown orange color with medium white head. Malt, sour notes, spices in aroma. Sweet malt in taste followed by harsh bitterness, spices, candies.
3.4Bottle. Sensoric. Reddish with big, light brown head. Very big gashing, beer almost exploaded from the bottle. grain, yeasty and fruity aroma. Quite noticable funky notes. Medium bitterness broken by sweet malty and grainy character. Medium to full body, sticky texture, finish is sweet with noticable ABV.
3.4Bottle in Brussels. Nice red body with slightest of head. Nose floral, yeast, wheat. Taste is fruity, toasty, some bitterness. Okay.
4.005/07/2015 @home, 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte.
Dark blond with unstable white head. Yeast, spices, bitterness, some sweetness, small funkiness, dry ending.
3.4Have never had a beer with so much foam, took me several minutes to pour the beer to my tulip glass. Not a very distinctive aroma, with a burnt caramel color. Very bitter taste, with alcohol up front, malty, toasty, still with the alcohol.
4.2From zombier. In Duvel glass. After dinner. Its high ABV isnt appreciable at all. The beer is very turbid, with lots of particles floating and little foam. Smells and tastes nicely sweet. A good and repeatable offering
3.2In bottiglia. Colore ramato intenso, velata, lievito in sospensione.
3.3Bottle. Hazy amber color with a medium sized foamy off-white head. Visible flakes. Aroma of grain, yeast and oak. Bitter and sour taste with a bitter finish. Medium body.
2.3Gusher. Having been exposed to Alvinne products previously I took the
precaution of opening this one in the sink. Which saved quite a bit of
mopping up. Huge offwhite head. Hazy amber body with carbonation and
lots of floaties. Funky earthy barnyard aroma. Dry funky earthy taste
with mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mealy mouthfeel, flat. Dry
fruity earthy aftertaste with wooden funky notes. Well. This didn’t
give me much. (0.33l bottle, I don’t know where from.)
Vitaminene varmer i magen. Bruset munnfølelse, tørr avslutning.
3.6Bottle@home. Light hazy brown. Well lasting two finger foam. Plenty of yeast on top of the foam coming instantly after opening the Bottle. Good carbonation. Intense yeasty peppery notes. Dry sharp bitterness. Not Bret as its brother brews. Strong but alcohol partly hidden.
