Amadeus Biere Blanche

Amadeus Biere Blanche

Unfiltered beer containing aromatic wheat which confers its fruity and acidulous taste. It is a beer which undergoes two successive high fermentations. The use of wheat gives to the product an excellent foam behaviour as well as a pale and opalescent color.

Also named as Saint Landelin Bière Blanche.

Branca, espuma duradoura, refrescante e levemente adocicada. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
2.2 "I was kinda looking forward to trying this French belgian wit (not having seen any scores) but it was a bit of a letdown. the coriander and orange are not very pronounced, nor is the belgian yeast. a little light, yet somehow on the sweeter side of things. Not worth the coin."
1.3 330ml bottle bought at Soho Wines & Spirits in Sai Wan. Cloudy hazy very pale pear juice colour with scrapy yeast traces; One finger head with crumpety white foam which last for 90 seconds; Good lacing and near zero carbonation; Very sweet aroma of perfume, pomelo, lemonade, sugar, light malt, yeast and thin spices; Mid to light sweet taste of light malt, with faint notes of tartness, wheat, coriander, very light grapefruit, strong yeast, hint of citrus and faint grass notes; Light body, thick and soapy palate; Mouth feel is soapy Witbier with artificial stuffs being thrown in. The grossly fake sweet Pomelo nose is a bad start and carried onto the taste - soapy, thickish, and sweet – grapefruit is mute, orange is faint, wheaty but not really tart, no clove or spices, feel like drinking a soda pop… Hoppiness is in faint citrusy smell and taste, faint bitterness in background; Sweet finish. Wet aftertaste, very easy and sweet to mouth. Comments: This one just remind me of Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc, with these scheming brewers thought of perhaps fake citrus aroma and taste will win drinker’s heart. Well, too bad, dumb ass, you brew is too fake, too soapy, and too sweet to be taken seriously. Now scram!
3.1 Cloudy and yellow in colour. This is a fine example of a Belgian white in style with some mild fruity flavours that are slightly more exaggerated in its nose.
3.5 Hazy yellow color with good white head. Aroma is citrus , malt , spicy. Taste is light sweet with lemon and coriander notes. Refreshing summer beer.
3.1 Teste sous le nom de Saint Landelin Blanche. Blanche très agréable, robe voilée avec un col fin dégageant des notes de coriandre et de fruits. Un palais souple sur les epices et une longeur moyenne.
3.2 Hazy pale, very pale, yellow. Big citrusy aroma with notes of soap, coriander and lavender. Light mouthfeel. Lavender predominates the flavour, there is also a slight buttery tone plus smallish notes of citrus. Super short finish.
2.0 750mL shared at Congregation Azusa. Straw, low haze pour with weak foam. Estery nose with soap, lemon. Taste is soapy, papery, bland, lemon. Not a lot going on.

4.3 Bomber: fruity aroma. Clear yellow. Minimal head. Very delicate beer. Light bodied. Clean and crisp like dry cider with a faint acidic note. Very nice. Refreshing. Would be great with fish and or summer squash. ~m --RaucusBacchus
2.2 Clear yellow colour, medium white foamy head, citrus wine like sourness, sweet citrus, grapefruit like bitterness, medium carbonation
2.4 Bottle. Golden-yellow colour with a white head. Aroma is citrus, malt, wheat, coriander, yeast. Flavour is citrus, malt, wheat, coriander, yeast. Medium body. Ordinary beer.
3.4 Golden yellow wheat beer with a pure white head. Beutiful colour! Aromas of lemon and bread and some kind of spiciness. Tastes like lemon. Medium body. Clearly different kind of wheat beer than German ones. A little sweet but not like candy. Actually very refreshing yet not very multi dimensional.
2.8 Tap at the Kastelhof, Cassel, 22/03/13 - thanks to Rilester for the share. Clouded pale yellow with a good sized frotby white head. Nose is spoce, liqourice, lemon, grass, mint, soap, toffee. Taste is lemon squash, herbal notes, grass, mint, spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. A slightly sub par Witbier IMHO.
3.1 Bottled, 0.75l. Hazy pale straw color with small frothy white head and lively bubbles. Aroma of spicy and fruity hops, wheat, coriander and citrus. Taste starts with sour grainy malt, followed refreshing fruity and finished mildly bitter. Medium body, thin texture and fizzy carbonation in palate. Passable, but a bit too plain...
2.7 Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma of citrus, musky notes, fruitiness and wheat. Flavor is sweet lemon with some fruity and musky notes. Thin body, average carbonation.
2.5 Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a milky white yellow beer with a small white head. It’s very lemony on the nose, with a decent addition of coriander. Lemony flavor with some coriander and pale malts. Medium to thin on the palate, dry and with a bit low carbonation level. Lemony, coriander finish with some malts. A boring and not very pleasant witbier, but far from undrinkable. 130215
2.5 Bottle 750ml @ fonefan Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, coriander and yeast. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with a dry kind of sour finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
2.6 Bottle @ The 4th Annual Fastelavns-Smagning Ulfborg, 2013. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Coriander, lime and lemon. Yeasty and phenolic. Thin.
2.1 Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Cloudy pale yellow with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty and spicy. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. Strange beer. 160213
2.4 Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy pale golden. Aroma and taste are ginger, coriander, wheat malt and hops.
2.3 Bottle. Milky pale yellow with small white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, yeast, spices and coriander. Flavour is malt, wheat, fruit, little sweet, coriander, little bitter and watery.
2.3 Backlog rating 12-07-08. This corked and caged bottled beer pours a medium size white head that quickly dissipated, cloudy body, visible carbonation, good amount of lacing, and a pale yellow hue. The aroma is sweet, spicy, fruity, wheat, and orange peel. The flavor follows suit but not in a good way. The mouthfeel is sprite and spritzy and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer seemed to be all over the place in the aroma and flavor and it therefore lost out on a higher rating.
2.8 750 mL bottle. Light yellow pour with a medium fizzy white head. Aroma of soap and ultra sweet, artificial lemongrass. Taste is overpoweringly sweet, almost like a new flavor of Kool Aid.
2.4 Bottle: Small vast staying white head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer. Smell soap, lemon, toilet refresher, vegetables, rotten vegetables, damn this smell strange! Taste soap, lemon, wheat, not bitter, not sweet, dishwater ish, cabbage. Aftertaste is mostly (and only) soap and lemon. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a creamy texture. Unbalanced, soapy, lemon, dishwater... Not good...
3.5 A very fresh, citrus-fruity aroma. Bright, cloudy, pear-gold, label looks like it came off a Greek cruiser. Pleasantly sour, moderately sweet, biscuity, some sweetarts and powdered candy flavors. Light body, effervescent. Very refeshing, would be a good brunch beer or would otherwise pair well with cheeses, melons, hors d’oeuvres, stuff like that. PIcked this baby up at a fire sale closeout at Market Square Liquors - $1.99/750ml -- what a deal!
3.6 Aroma: The smell is intensely of lemon, white sugar, herbs like lemon balm and green apples. Appearance: A pale yellow slightly hazy brew, a white head that recedes quickly but leaves lots of lacing. Taste: The taste is also much lemon, lemonade as it is rather sweet, some bitter lemon zest at the end. Palate: Very low carbonation, a bit watery but with a dry finish. Overall: Well preserved, and quite refreshing even if the carbonation was very low. Note: Bottle, 750 ml, best before 07-11-20, i.e. 3.5 years after that. Had kept remarkably well (cellar stored all that time). Reviewed 2010-05-14.
2.2 Corked bottle from E.Leclerc supermarket, Parthenay, France. Cloudy yellow-straw coloured with a strong sour lemon flavours, vanilla, and a sugary sweet finish.
2.6 Orange! Overwhelms fat citrus. Small finish. Good color. Would not buy again. :(
