Amager / Arizona Wilderness Arizona Beast

Amager / Arizona Wilderness Arizona Beast

The rumour was started by the Arizona Department of Transportation: a suspicious looking "thing" was spotted on some highway cam in one of the most remote areas of the Grand Canyon state. Was it a yeti, was it a sasquatch or was it Big Foot? Since then the hunt has been on for the now infamous Arizona Beast - dusty, spiky and - of course - bearded. We have chosen to believe that it’s out there - somewhere.
Bearded indeed were Arizona Wilderness brewers Jonathan Buford and Patrick Ware when they came to brew at Amager - after a small morning detour to Sweden or Norway or somewhere…admittedly European geography CAN be confusing. It was a day of good fun, laughter, drinking and a little brewing. We hope you’ll enjoy our baby beast of an Oatmeal IPA.
P.S.: a final piece of good advice: should you ever get the chance, do NOT try to keep up with the Wilderness boys when it comes to drinking beer or hard liquor. Many a person have tried - and failed miserably.

4.3 Bottle @ home Clear pale golden, cream head Grapefruit, passion fruit, light oatmeal and honey. Full body, pink grapefruit, bitter hops and long lasting herbaceous bitterness, develops nice maltiness when warms a little bit.
4.0 Nice sweet herbal aroma. Interesting color, average carbonation. Could be a bit more bitter.
Odpowiednie nasycenie, fajne odczucie w ustach. Super.
3.6 Red colour, white head. Aroma of nuts, earthy hops, spruce, bread, lemon. Taste is light to medium bitter, light sweet. Medium body, oily texture, soft to average carbonation. Very bitter finish.
3.6 Piana dość trwała, ładnie zdobi szkło. Aromat mocno owsiany, kremowy, brzoskwiniowy.W smaku kompletna dominacja owsa z owocowym finiszem. Slodkawo-likierowe. Przyjemnie gładkie. Leciutko alkoholowe na finiszu. Smaczne.
3.1 Brown with light haze. Aroma and flavour of sugary caramelised fruits like peaches. Lots of pine too. Quite cakey. Bittersweet, syrupy finish.
3.7 Bottle. Pours hazy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, some minty notes, herbs and malt.Flavor is sweet and fruity with some orange, pine, herbs, grapes and caramel. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.8 Bottle. An orange-colored, hazy beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is quite piney and grapefruity, with some pale maltyness in the back. Some sweetish hints too. It’s full-bodied and pleasantly bittered, with a nice carbonation level. It’s piney and grapefruity in the flavor too, with a generic fruityness, and some pale malts in the back. And then even more pine cones, lasting for a really good while, along with bitterness, grapefruit and resins. Not the most exciting aroma in this one, even though it’s sure nice, but the hop flavors and bitterness are lovely. Could easily drink more of this. 160604
3.5 Tap@Banksia. Pours hazy straw golden with offwhite head. Aroma is sweet malty, with caramel and biscuit, and fruity with a citrus, piney hoppiness. Taste is light malty, caramel, bready and citrus and grapefruit hoppy and ends in fruity, dry bitterness.
3.6 500ml bottle, batch 1132 best before 2016/09. Hay yellow, nice foam. Hops and malt, this bottle is not very fresh, so the taste is a bit oxidize but still good.
3.7 Bottle from Drinks of the World. A feasty IPA indeed. Strong flavours with a heavy body; thick, oily and bitter. Mostly tropical, slightly citric, some meat and umami, a little dusty. Fresh carbonation, carrying the flavours to the palate. Rather sweet with a lasting bitter and tasty finish.
3.9 Wonderfully hoppy aroma full of citrus, grass and flowers. Pours light golden with a relatively small and frothy head. Very bitter flavour, almost tongue curling. Feels quite lively, long after taste which lingers and lingers. Very enjoyable.
3.7 Bottle, from SlovakSniper-- thanks Pat!-- shared with Parksy, Grippitis, and PQ. Hazy pale yellow, lively white head. Hop profile is interesting, some cat pee, gooseberry, kumquat notes, vegetal undertones, lean malts, aggressive bitterness. Interesting collaboration.
3.4 How: Bottle. Where: Systembolaget. Appearance: Hazy golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma: Pine, grass, citrus, spices. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Pine, citrus, hops, spices, floral.
3.2 BBE 09-2016. Oranssinen, mietovaahtoinen. Tuoksu intensiivisen makea, raikas, suutuntuma katkerahkon kuiva, puinen, kiva.
4.0 Bottle at home. Pours a clearish yellow with a small white head. Dry with a medium sweetness. Hoppy aromas of exotic fruits with a sweet and malty backbone. Medium to light bodied. Medium carbonation. Long and quite bitter finish with a tiny hint of alcohol.
Bra komplex beska.
3.7 Yellow coloured and uncleaer. Has a white head, medium duration. Heavy hoppy aroma, notes of tropical fruits. Heavy bitter. Dry texture.
3.6 golden, cloudy, white foam, citrus, resin, grass, floral, full body, sticky, average carbonation, bitter, medium sweetness, very bitter,
3.9 Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of green grassy notes is pretty pleasant. Taste is also a great mix of green grassy hops with floral citrus notes with a smooth finish which is probably due to the use of oat malt. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed and I enjoyed the smooth and creamy texture of the oat malt.
2.9 Flaska.
Batch nr.1132 best for : 09/2016. Note: 7/10
3.5 Bottle. Golden appearance with frothy white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, and light herbal notes. Taste is pine, citrus, with a touch of malty sweetness, finishes medium bitter. Nice IPA.
3.6 Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Cheers! Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. Citrusy hops in the aroma, dry pale bread. Medium sweet flavour, somewhat dank and piney, with notes of ripe citrus. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Resinous on the finish with further ripening citrus and pale bread. Good one.
Goryczka średnia do wysokiej, punktowa, żywiczno grejpfrutowa, czyli taka, jaką najbardziej lubię... Nagazowanie nieco powyżej średniego, drobne, w odczuciu mega chmielowe, delikatnie mineralne, a jednocześnie gładkie, czuć płatki owsiane w fakturze. Chyba mamy europejską (choć z amerykańską pomocą z Arizona Wilderness) wersję Heady Topper i Kook DIPA. Rewelacja.
3.5 Bottle (500 ml) at home. Batch #1132. BB 09/2016. Slightly hazy golden with a medium easy to revive white head leaving some lacing. Flavors of lemon, pineapple, pine, pepper, cedar-like spiciness, floral notes and a tiny bit of soap. Taste is slightly sweet with a mild soapines, a light alcohol heat and moderate bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Lingering cedar spiciness finish. It’s not extra fresh and it’s not my kind of IPA (too spicy) but I can see that it’s well made.
3.7 pours almost cloudy pale yellow with a small white cap offering some retention and lacing. danky melons - polaris signature; pale melons, obvious almost sulpuric citra, fresh lemonade, fresh grassy cones, pepepry and not-quite metallic oatmeal, white wine grapiness, bitter lemon peel, clean yeast action. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily; assertive resinous-piney-citrusy finish. just a misunderstanding for adding oatmeal in a 7% ipa. and for its freshness, probably bottled roughly 6 months ago, this is pretty nice.
4.0 500ml bottle. Hazy yellow body with a medium white head. Nice aromas of sweet tropical fruit, but the taste is more bitter with noticable alcohol flavor. Some yeast in the finish. Medium co2.
