Amager / Cigar City Orange Crush

Amager / Cigar City Orange Crush

English: To be totally honest, it wasn’t really part of our plans to brew a collaboration beer with Cigar City also this year. But we received a mail from head brewer Wayne Wambles saying: "Hey guys, I’m coming back for the Copenhagen Beer Celebration, why don’t we brew a beer?" And since Wayne is not only one of the nicest persons in the craft beer world but also one of the most innovative and skilled, it was an easy decision to make room in our schedule for another Cigar City collaboration.
The beer of choice turned out to be "Orange Crush" a so called Session IPA - low in alcohol and potency, but high in drinkability. Heavily dry-hopped with the juiciest of American aroma hops: Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe and a solid dose of our secret ingredient, a super fragrant brand of American orange peel.
Orange Crush is a bit of a quaffer - we’re almost certain, that you will like it. And Wayne….you’re welcome back anytime!

Seca. Amargor medio que continúa en postgusto.
3.8 Amber with rich off-white head. Malty aroma. Medium bitter taste with sweet malty background. Sour fruity notes. Medium long bitter aftertaste.
3.7 Bottle @ home. Hazy dark orange to reddish color, small yeast particles in it, full sized rough white to off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is lightly malts, hops, orange, grapefruit. Taste lightly malts, hops, citrus, orange, resinous citrussy hoppy, sticky resinous hops, a slight sharp citrus bitter finish. Decent to medium body, thinning yet slightly sticky texture at the same time, medium carbonation. Decent.
3.1 Tap at Uba ja Humal, Tallinn. Copper color, medium-sized beige head. Rye bread, orange peel and citrus in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Citrus, crystal malts, cracker, orange peels. A bit too sweet for my liking.
3.4 Bottle 0,5. Pours clear amber with medium white head, nice lacing. Hops, orange peel, citrus, pine, grapefruit, eucaliptus. Quite bitter. Medium body and average carbonation.
4.1 Bottle from the brewery. Muddy orange brown, lot of sediment orange hops and malts aroma & flavour. Bitter aftertaste. A very orangey beer.
3.3 Flaske. Uklar, kobberfarget.
3.8 Aromas a naranja , frutasl y citrico.
3.7 Growler from Free Beer Co, The Hague. Semi-hazy orange pour with a thin beige head. Notes of orange zest, caramel, citrus hops, dusty hops, bitter hops, honey. Medium body, high carbonation. Decent.
4.1 Aromat: cudowny, intensywny, świeży. Trzy moje ulubione chmiele w jednym piwie! Citra, Mosaic i Simcoe dają nam cytrusy, a głównie pomarańcze, owoce tropikalne i sosnową żywiczność. Bursztynowe, lekko mętne, osad na dnie butelki, pianka raczej niewielka, zanikająca. Smak: super rześkie, przyjemne, mega pijalne. Delikatna i świeża słodycz świeżych pomarańczy jest kontrowana uderzeniem potężnej goryczki. Wpierw jest ona grejpfrutowa, później pozostawia w odczuciu w ustach wrażenie sosnowej żywiczności. Wysycenie średnie w kierunku sporego, w sam raz.
3.7 50cl bottle. slightly hazy, orange/brown colour. rich whitehead with decent lacing. aroma of hops and citru, strong orange accents. fruity medium to high bitterness, quite high carbonation.
3.8 Bottle. Slightly cloudy bronze. Small head with a subtle hoppiness. Orange flavours in background. A collaboration between two excellent breweries producing an excellent beer.
[humuluslupulus.net] Batch 1533 BB 2018/02
4.0 50 cl. bottle from Beervana Pours a dark and hazy orange color that tends to amber at times. Head is medium, off-white and very long lasting. Aroma is intensely hoppy with orange peel, citrus, zest, eucaliptus leaves, mint, pine cones, resin and lemongrass. Massive smell. Unbelievable. Taste is very bitter, citrusy, with flavors of grapefruit, peppermint, eucaliptus leaves and lemongrass. Intense like the heaviest IPAs. Really nice. Doesn’t seem that "Session" to me though. Medium body, lively and bright carbonation. Alcohol is completely hidden but after drinking the whole bottle you feel it was there. Long and bitter aftertaste. Among the best IPA’s I’ve tried.
4.2 500ml Bottle at Beer Zone, Iasi, Ro. Pours deep, dark hazy orange with medium head. Aroma is very hoppy, citrusy, tropical fruits. Tastes hoppy a little sweet. Dry bitterness. Medium carbonation. When poured in a glass, the yeast flakes just swirl around in the glass. Looks amazing. Very good Session IPA and would have and purchase again.
4.2 What a SIPA!! Kastrup Shopping Power. 5€.
3.6 Fra Amager Bryghus; pours a reddish dark orange, close to brown with a big white head; aroma is very hoppy, citric, tropical fruits, some spiciness; taste is fruity, with low sweetness fading into spicy, citric bitter finish with lingering citric and pine bitterness; mouthfeel is thin, little bit watery with medium carbonation
3.7 Bottle. Very strong citrus aroma, orange peel and citrus, some pine. Refreshing and light, a lot of orange, even bitterness is that of orange peel. Very good and highly refreshing session beer.
3.4 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
4.6 Deep golden clean body: many oranges, citrus peels, piney hops – fresh! Taste; hops, bitter, orange peels, roasted malts, wood. Finish; leafy lingering. Feel; semi dry, soft carbonation. Amazing!
3.6 Aroma: Fruity hops with citrus and slight yeast. Flavour: Dry fruity bitterness with citrus notes and a grapelike bitter finish. Mouthfeel is creamy. Colour: golden amber with yeasty flakes and a grainy offwhite head.
3.6 Hazy, nice head, fruity aroma, lemon, peach, marmalade, bitter flavor, lemon zest, grapefruit, medium bodied.
3.1 Light amber colour, and little head. Tastes of rust, roasted caramel and orange concentrate. Light body, light carbonation and a finish of rust. Trumpy
3.7 Bottle at home. Pours clear copper with a large, rocky and sticky off-white head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is juicy oranges, moderate citrus hops and light earthy meal malt. Flavor is heavy citrus hops and medium bitterness, tart and citric oranges with earthy meal malt and a dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation.
3.9 Nice aroma of mango, citrus and pine. Taste is light to medium bitter, dry. Flavor of grapefruit, orange zest, pine, hint of flowers. Aftertaste is bitter and dry, medium long with citrus flavor. Nice one.
4.1 A 5,0% abv APA as full-flavoured and layered as a DIPA. Wow! Nose of fresh passionfruit, ripe blood oranges, sweet pineapple, pina colada, orange peel, orange marmelade, some pine and caramel malts, reappearing in taste, with a pink grapefruit bitter finish that is so well balanced.
3.5 Aromat cytrusów ale też lekkie utlenianie. Kolor miedziany, piana bardzo obfita. Dość wysokie wysycenie, w smaku też cytrusy i lekka nuta słodowa. Goryczą średnia.
3.7 Bottle. Deep golden beer with a big beige head. Sticky lacing. The final pour brought chunks of sediment. Earthy, juicy, fruity, and spicy hop aromas. Surprisingly big bitterness begins it. Grapefruit and orange zest. The sediment brought more fruity flavors and richness. Just a little of spiciness. It is earthy and oily. Nicely done.
3.8 0,5l bottle at home. Nose: hoppy, sweet--citrusy, honey, mango, ripe pineapple. Taste: hoppy fruity bitterness, orange zest, lingering back bitterness. Nice, sessionable beer!
