Amager / Grassroots Black Nitro

Amager / Grassroots Black Nitro

3.7 Black pour with a thin off white head .... Aroma of resinous and citrusy/piney hops and roasted malts/coffee .... Taste is of piney and citrusy hops, resinous and roasted malts with light coffee .... Very resinous lots of grapefruit and pine .... Has a slick and oily body .... Sessionable and tasty
3.8 On tap: pours almost black color, clear with diminish light brown head. Aroma: roasted dark malts, new world hops with notes of citruses, grapefruit, tangerine, pine, lemon... Flavor is practicalky the same...gop biterness is very high and lingers long in aftertaste. Body is medium to high, texture is soft, carbonation medium.
3.8 Aroma of grapefruit, orange, herbs, roasted malt. Pours almost black with a beige and creamy head. Taste is medium bitter and medium to lightly sweet. The hops work well with the roasty malt backbone. Grapefruity and orangy taste. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation and bitter finish of hops and a bit of roast. Nice black IPA.
3.7 One of my favorite black IPAs. The mix between the hops and the roasted malt flavors is really nice. It’s not perfectly balanced, but what did you expect from the name "Black Nitro" anyway? Body is a bit thin. Overall a really solid beer.
3.7 Tap. Black, minimal head, tan foam, heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, & abrupt finish.
3.2 On tap at Foresters Hall, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a mix of roasted malt and light piney hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with light roasted malt and harsh piney hops. Rather astringent. Pretty harsh but it’s okay. Probably a function of the beer traveling such a far distance but this isn’t great as is.
2.8 15.04.2016, 0,5l bottle @ home: Nice light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry roasted, leafs, dark malts, hops, minerals, licorice, weeds, grass, bark, hints of soap. Taste is dry foresty, weeds, hops, leafs, dark malts, pine needles, grass, minerals, bark, sour coffee, licorice. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.
3.8 Black pour--a good start. Thin foamy ivory head. Lovely nose with some black malty depth and a touch of molasses and lots of roast. Slightly earthy bitter on the aroma as well. Smooth and balanced flavor full of black malt roast, lovely earthy and leafy hop presence, dark cacao, a semisweet malty body, and a slightly earthy finish. Pleasant, but nothing out of this world.
4.2 Deep dark brown-black; huge head. Aroma is dry stout. Flavor is burnt cookies and chili peppers. Slick and oily. This style is really hard to pull off and they nail it. Not as hoppy as you might expect.
4.1 its a great beer! amazing aroma and appearance but too much coffee for a black IPA
4.0 On tap. Black with tan head. Roasted malt aroma with heavy hoppy. Strong hoppy bitter flavour
3.9 On Tap. @El Cabanón, Avilés 24/03/2016 Color negro, espuma beige, aroma torrefacto, sabor herbal, final seco.
3.4 Draft. A well-made black ipa not too disjointed as many in the style can be, nice stuff.
4.0 Tap @ basement beer bar, Aalborg. Aroma of citrus and resin hops, some roasted malts - coffee and dark chocolate. Pours black with off-white head, mostly diminishing. Taste is moderate+ bitter from hops and some from malt, light+ sweet. Medium+ body, oily feel, avg. carb., long roasted malt and bitter finish
4.7 Tasty dark IPA with wonderful hops and dark colour. Long after taste, very aromatic and filling
4.6 Black IPA, or APA would be more fitting. Plenty of hops, six different, including the archetypical American varieties Centennial, Cascade and Amarillo. Nice mix between an APA and a brown ale.
4.2 Bottle 50cl / Botella 50cl. @ Cervezorama 2.0, Madrid, España. A: Black / Negro. T/S: Roasted malt, hops, chocolate, resinous, citrusy / Malta tostada, lupulo, chocolate, resinoso, citrico.
3.7 Cocoa malty hoppy aroma. Taste is a dark, bitter, toasted malt ipa. Very bitter and dry. Nice overall but almost too dry and bitter.
4.1 500ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, piney, citrusy and slightly herbal hoppy overtones, hints of grapefruit, orange, mango and passion fruit, coffee and dark chocolate come intertwined as green onion. Taste is bitter, citrusy and piney hoppy, notes of grapefruit, orange, mandarine, moderately sweet, roasty, chocolately malty basis; lasting bitter finish. Very good, maybe a Mu too sweet.
4.3 Pours very dark brown, almost black with beige long lasting top. Roasted malts, grass, toffee, cacao, cream in aroma. Flavour is toasted bread, cream, roasted beans, coffee, sweets, liquorice and some fruity notes. After stays for a while with some roasted malt, coffee and grapefruit notes. Very good beer!
4.3 bottle at home courtesy of mr orla, euro local swap, cheers Martin! smooth, rich chocolate, orange, smooth, full bodied, light, very nicely done!
3.9 Bottle. Black in color with a frothy tan head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and hoppy citrus notes in aroma. Fresh. Dark chocolate and roasted notes in taste. Some grassy notes too. Smooth. Grapefruity bitterness in the end with some more roastedness as well.
3.6 Bottle.
3.7 Bottle. black pour. Aroma of passion fruit, cacao and roasted coffee. Taste has cacao, bitter coffee, cream and some citrussy tropical fruit. Good tasty hoppy bipa.
3.8 Dark brown color with medium brown head. Aroma has roasted malts and fresh, grassy hops. Taste starts hoppy with juicy fruit notes, the bitterness increasing towards the finish. Aftertaste lingers bitter with grapefruit pith and roasted malt. Really well put together black IPA.
4.0 03.18.2014 Full dark chocolate brown pour on tap at Worthy Kitchen. Some lingering off white head. So much body! This drinks nice and smooth. Earthy, roasty, and well balanced overall. I wouldn’t turn this down if offered it again.
4.1 Perfectly dark with almost no light shining through... Stable Tan head - up to its best! Bitterhops and aromahops form a perfectly balanced, grassy citric aroma, enriched by subtle coffee notes topped by some roasted nuts and licorice. Licorice bocomes the main flavor when taking the fist sip. Perfectly dry, no sweetness, columbian coffee, some 100% dark chocolate in the finish.
4.0 500ml bottle from Mikkeller webshop. Pours black in colour with a tan foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of smokey earthy roasted malt with a hoppy note. Taste is roast malt, smokey & earthy, chocolate, coffee, and some citrus & pine hop, grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roast bitter finish. Very drinkable.
4.1 Équilibre plus que parfait entre la torréfaction et l’houblonnage. On navigue entre la rondeur/amertume du café et le houblonnage bien vert. Belle longueur. Apparente complexité alors qu’on a "juste" une complémentarité magnifiquement dosée.
