Amager Hr. Frederiksen

Amager Hr. Frederiksen

English: Even when just poured into the glass, you feel straight away that Mr. Frederiksen is a master of potency and great personality. Pitch-black as Mr. Frederiksen’s humor, this American style Imperial Stout has a dense and creamy, light brown head that leaves an abundance of lacing on the glass as it reluctantly settles.

We are happy to admit that we have gone slightly berserk with malt in this beer, eight different varieties were used including black and roasted malts that give this beer its color and almost extreme density - this is almost a meal in a bottle. The bitterness is also supplied by the roasted malts backed by the American Centennial hops.

Mr. Frederiksen is an experience to be savoured he should be enjoyed slowly throughout the course of an entire evening where you can warm yourselves by his alcohol and provocative charms.

We have named this beer after a good friend without whose wonderful support and assistance Amager Brewery would not be where it is today.

3.9 Bottle. Black with lots of sediment. Beige head. Dried fruits, dark roasted malts, browned butter. Surprisingly fruity. Some sweetness, prominent and pleasant bitterness. Well-masked alcohol. Silky mouthfeel, mildly oily. Great!
4.2 Batch nr.: 1123 Leżakowane z datą: 9/2020 Czarne, nieprzejrzyste, piana brązowa, drobna, powoli redukuje do cienkiej warstwy i trwałej obrączki. W aromacie czekolada i praliny, w tle nuty kawy i likieru kawowego. Smak to gorzka czekolada, kawa i finisz jest wyraźnie palony i rozgrzewający. Alkohol jest wyczuwalny ale ułożony. Nasycenie niskie.
4.2 Bottle, BB. 12/2018. Pours very dark with light head. Aroma is coffee beans, some dust, roast, some dark bread, some light sweetness. Taste is full of coffee, dust and beans, ash , some roast, burned dark bread. Superb beer!
3.8 Bottle, 0.33l. Muddy deep brown pour, no head. Extreme amount of yeast floating in the glass, not really sure if that's how's supposed to be, not much of a looker really. Thin beige ring on top, minimal lacing. Good on the nose, malty, liquory, notes of coffee, cocoa and roasted malt. Dark fruits and figs, quite nice. Full body, soft carbonation. Thick and creamy texture, chewy, very smooth mouthfeel. Roasty bitter taste with nice caramel malt sweetness in the background. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, licorice. Coffee, dark fruits, figs. Warming alcohol, subtle burn on the tongue. Sticky, mild vanilla notes. Long lasting finish, dry, roasty, lingering bitterness and alcohol burn. Tasty.
4.4 I had this beer once, 5 years ago, this seems better than what I remembered, besides an evolution of my palate in this time. Pours pitch black, fluffy tan head, with excellent retention (large bubble type), and a beautiful omelette-on-the-side-of-the-pan lacing. Beautiful arome: roasted barley, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate. Tastes balanced bitter and sweet, respecting the impressions of the nose: roasted barley, dark chocolate, toffee, caramel. It develops a licorice-herbal bitterness that lingers til a dry finish. Smooth and full mouthfeel, creamy, balanced flavours, booze well hidden. A nearly perfect classic Imperial Stout. Awesome!
4.0 Fatastisk øl
4.0 Udseende: mørk brun til sort. Tynd skumkrone.
3.7 17/20 really tasty imp stout. has that proper molasses, yoghurt, bitter taste - really moreish
4.0 Coffee, roasted malts, chocolate. Smooth and soft body. Velvety carbonation. Long bitter aftertaste. A great modern classic!
4.1 650ml bottle takeaway off tap at covid19-affected Bonny Bar in Fitzroy. Pours pure black. Toffee and molasses nose with some coffee. Oily in mouth. Lush roasted coffee and cocoa with some plum. Vanilla lingers. Not too sweet. A lovely sipper.
3.9 No bouquet i can detect. Good deep brown and tan pour. Sweet flavour progile - honeycomb, cookies and cream, maybe a hint of ginger nut which may come from the alcohol as well. Claggy finish is not the greatest but it is a very nice beer.
2.3 Flaska från Systembolaget. Brunsvart vätska med tunt skum. Bär och tobak i doften. Kaffebönor och sträv tobaksmak. Gräddig. Eldig och lång eftersmak.
3.0 Bottle at home, köszi Kini! Pours jet black with beige head. Nose is molasses, but mainly ruled by a weird, slightly bitter and rather unpleasant, perhaps a bit medicinal character. It’s really hard to put my hands on, but definitely not the first time I meet in in an impy. Anyways, taste is dark chocolate, molasses, slight booze, pretty pleasant... first. But them that weird bitterish touch appears again, ruining it totally. Something definitely went sideways here, not sure what tho.
3.9 Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, caramel, plums, vanilla. Roasty taste. Coffee, ash, coffee licorice, very roasty. Dry. High coffee bitterness. low carbonation, medium-full body. Tasty, brave, burnt Imperial Stout.
3.5 Tap, Lajbah. Pitch black, medium beige head, ok lasting. Medium coffee nose, slight chocolate, very mild. Hint of dry fruits. Medium coffee and roasted start. Slight vanilla with a bit of bourbon. Hints of sweetness, much more chocolate later on. Medium bitterness. Medium bodied. Dry finish. A bit too roasted for me, though not bad still.
3.1 Schönes Flaschendesign. In der Nase röstig, Kaffee. Im Trunk ebenso, hinten deutlicher. Hohe Drinkability, könnte aber intensiver sein.
3.5 Solid. Nothing crazy.
4.1 Ciemnobrunatne nieprzezroczyste piwo z obfitą beżową pianą. Aromat bardziej porterowy niż stoutowy, suszone owoce plus czekolada. W smaku typowy stout, jest kawowo, gorzka czekolada, nuty palone. Finisz wytrawny. Imperial stout w klasycznej odmianie.
4.1 Semmi hab, fekete szín. Csokis, kakaós, kissé kávés, vaníliás illat. Csokis, kakaós, kávés, aszalt gyümölcsös ízek, némi vaníliával és leheletnyi citrusos aromával. Testes, szinte semmi szénsav, közepes keserű. Kellemes, jól csúszó stout, a magas alkoholt egyáltalán nem érezni.
4.0 Appearance: dark with substantial carbonation Taste: coffee with chocolate notes
4.2 Black with creamy tan head. Toast greets the nose. Strong roasted grain notes. Mild dark chocolate. Licorice. Nice! Taste is sweet to bittersweet. Body is heavy, carbonation moderate. Overall, quite well balanced. Good!
4.0 Bottle from a dusty supermarket cart 🛒 at Perry’s Liquor & Craft Beer in Livermore, CA. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, darkest fruits. Taste is tangy dark chocolate, earthy cocoa bitterness, oils cocoa resin. This is bitter dark cocoa resin...but I enjoyed the Fru more.
Davvero buona.
3.7 Pours black with two finger, tan head. Aroma is molasses, roast and light cocoa. Taste is light chocolate and brown sugar, moving to roast and oatey richness. Finish is roast and brown sugar. A good stout.
3.5 Ölsellskap 2018. Kvällens höjdare. Fet fin och stark.
3.9 Aroma is roasted dark grains, vanilla and a very mild hint of lactose. Taste is rich dark grains. Cooking chocolate, caramel and bitter vanilla beans greet the pallet. Unreal how smooth this is at 10.5%
