Amager The Bastard Princess

Amager The Bastard Princess

A dryhopped New England style IPA.

Throughout history Danish kings have been known for two things: 1. A strange desire to declare war on far superior enemies. 2. A libido even exceeding their lust for powder and cannonballs. One king had such success in the crown canopy bed that his many sons and daughters at one point were happily installed as kings, princes and princesses at royal courts all over Europe. However, this particular king couldn’t keep his royal pecker in his pants, so he continued to spread his royal seed with court servants and kitchen maids. Every so often this royal fornication would lead to the birth of a bastard child with half royal genes. The mother would then secretly be expelled from the court for being a shrewd temptress! This beer, The Bastard Princess, is named after just such a fourth generation royal bastard whose noble ancestry was a well kept family secret for many years. But why hide the fact that you have royal blood in your veins – even if you are indeed just a bastard?

3.1 330 ml bottle at home, bb. 1.2020. Pours a lightly hazy light golden with a white head. The aroma is medium hoppy, grassy herbal, with citric fruits, lemon zest - smells a little old. Medium body with a light to medium bitterness and a very light sweetness. The flavor is pretty flat, medium hoppy with bitter citric notes, some grass and some pale malt. Finishes with a medium hoppy bitterness. Reminds me more of a classic West Coast IPA. Aroma: 6 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Mouthfeel: 3 Overall: 11

Aroma a piña y hierba, tropical, casi resinoso.
3.5 Bottle at Bishops Arms Sundbyberg. Hazy light yellow with a medium white head. Aroma and taste of juice, citrus, passionfruit and some light grass. The body was medium as was the bitterness. A decent one.

3.0 Bottle, 33 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a thin white head. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Taste is surprising weak and watery, but still fine and refreshing. A little disappointed but still a good beer.
3.8 330ml bottle served in an ordinary glass. Pours a cloudy pale yellow color that forms a medium creamy and persistent head. Forms and leaves some soapy lacings in the glass. Nose is fruity and citrus. Sweet pale malts backbone. Strong notes of tangerine and melon. Orange zest. Light notes of mango and resin. Slightly sweet upfront taste. Quite fruity and citrus. Good lingering persistent bitterness. Notes of tangerine and sweet pale malts. Orange zest, resin and grass. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Smooth texture. Grass and tangerine in the afteraste. Good drinkability. Great Scandinavian IPA.
L'aroma è limone, pompelmo, note speziate leggere e foresta.
3.6 16.02.19, butelka do 1.09.19 Aromat odchmielowych niedojrzałych owoców tropikalnych (mango, marakuja) i cytrusów.
4.1 Tap at Bishops Arms Östersund. This was a delicious, surprisingly light IPA.
3.8 330 ml bottle. (Alko) Tampere, Finland. Enjoyed on Dec 22 2018. Hazy warm yellow color with a small white head. Fresh dry fruity aroma with some bitterness, citrus, grapefruit and dry maltiness. The flavor is dry citrusy, grapefruity and bitter. Dry. Fruity. Flavorsome.
3.8 Bottle. Light golden, cloudy, large and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, faint caramel, light - some tropical fruitiness, citrus - some grapefruit hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and ldryish - ightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel and light - some tropical fruitiness, some cotrus/grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, light - some and some tropical fruitiness, citrus - some grapefruit hoppyness. Really nice dryish IPA. Could use bit more body. Nice head.
2.8 Aroma citrico Gusto luppoloso
3.7 0,33l bottle from Alko Ruoholahti, shared with wiosna @ Malminkartano. Pours hazy yellow with a medium head. Aroma is grassy malts with fresh hops. Flavor is sweet malts with some fruits, some grass, fresh hops. Tasty.
3.4 Tap. Pours hazy yella. Aroma is fruity, candy and citrus hops. Fruity, minimal bitterness, lemony, usual NE ipa. Not my thing.
4.3 hazy pale yellow colour, one inch of quickly collapsing white head; aroma of of lemon, pineapple juice, some tangerine and slight celery notes;taste is the same with hints of peppery aftertaste; excellent IPA
3.4 Pomarańczowe, mętne, soczkowe. Piana średnia, redukuje do trwałej otoczki, zostawia resztkowe ślady.
3.8 Tropical fruits, rather smooth with a juicy malt center. Not as hazy as expected but the taste makes up for any view.
3.5 Bottle. Unclear yellow in color with a whitish head. Citrus and bit of grassy notes in aroma. Grainy and somewhat bitter taste. More fruitier later on, but light grapefruity bitterness as well. Quite good drinkability.
3.5 33 cl bottle. Pours hazy yellow color with a large white head. Aroma has mandarin and orange peel, hops, some caramel notes and resin. Flavor is hoppy and bitter, citric fruits, subtle mango notes, okay malty body. Nice citric IPA. 4515
3.7 From bottle (BB July’19) in IPA glass. Pours hazy straw yellow w/wispy white head, particulates. Aroma is lemon & earthy hops, taste is fruity w/a zesty finish
3.9 Pours cloudy yellow tih white head. Aroma is lemon, grapefruit, light spicy notes and forest. Flavour is medium to heavy bitter, citrus, pine and wood notes.
3.3 Pours ridiculously pale (looks like stone & wood pacific ale in the glass) but packs a punch. Aroma of sweet and sticky melon, mango, orange, pineapple, touch of lemon. Slightly harsh on the back of the tongue, but otherwise a mouthful of dank hops is beautiful balance.
3.9 121018. Bottle at home. Pours hazy yellow with a nice head. Aroma spices, floral notes, hint of mango. Citrus. Refreshing light body(!). Dangerous stuff. Gets better as it settles on the glass. Not Bad.
