Amager The Sinner Series Envy
Danish: Det siges at Kain dræbte sin bror i ren og skær misundelse. På Amager Bryghus mener vi måske nok, at drab er at gå lidt for vidt. Men vi indrømmer at vi er misundelige. Misundelige fordi vi ikke var de første til at brygge den øltype, som vi beundrer mest: en sprød og humlet West Coast IPA. Vi slår altså ikke nogen ihjel, fordi vi ikke var de første til at komme på idéen, i stedet vil vi gerne præsentere ”Envy” – vores bud på denne øltype. Vi er ydmyge – og dog misundelige.

Cain is said to have murdered his brother out of envy. At Amager Bryghus we believe that murder is taking things a bit far. However, we admit to being envious because we weren’t the first brewer to come up with the beer style we admire the most: a crisp and hopped up West Coast IPA. We won’t kill anybody because we didn’t come up with the idea first, instead we present to you “Envy” - our take on this style. Humble – yet envious.
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…
Brewed from: Pilsener and Munich malts. Hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial and fermented with an American ale yeast.

From a 50cl bottle, pours a hazy golden yellow body with a thin white head. Aroma is mostly hops, grass, bread and biscuits. Flavors is dominated by hops bitterness, very grassy, herbs, strong citrus, grapefruits, with hints of bread and biscuits.Nice strong cough drop grassy bitterness. Nice brew, one time but not two.
De las que mas me gustan de la serie pecados capitales de Amager, una IPA frsca y muy bien hecha, cada trago dado incita a dar otro, repetiré y la buscaré sin duda alguna.
On tap @King Arthur Pub (Ciampino). Ambrata scarica, schiuma bianca media. Al naso una esplosione di frutta tropicale, agrumi (pompelmo, mandarino), malto. In bocca è ben equilibrata, con base di malto media e finale amaro medio persistente. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Ottima davvero.
Semi-hazy golden with white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruits and orange. Taste is orange, citrus, tropical fruits, mango and some dry perfumy notes. Medium mouthfeel, light to medium carbonation and perfuperfumy citrus aftertaste.
A light orange beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has tropical mangos, some citrus, wood and sweetness of fructose. Taste has wood, sour grapefruits, low mango, nicely strong bitterness that is also long lasting. Not so fruitful but otherwise, the bitterness is great.
Draft at the Hive. Pours clear amber with a full white head and serious lacing. Hoppy nose with bread, caramel, citrus fruits. Tastes very fresh with lots of hoppy citrus notes, some nice caramel malts and a tinge of funk. Medium bodied. Long bitter finish.
Drank during the tasting 08-07-17 (beer 1 - round 3). Quite a full taste for an IPA. Very bitter, not the fruity kind of hop. But comprehensive taste. Good.
From Cervezalandia. In Teku glass. Watching Los Soprano 6x17, with popcorn. Very resinous, with earthy notes and a great feeling, specially as warms up, when also becomes more tasty and aromatic
Bottle at home. Pale gold clear, cream head. Light honey, cream, bitter orange, crispy mispel. Bitter artemisia-like aftertaste, very covering and agressive.
Piwo złote, klarowne, ze skromną białą pianą. Aromat nie wali po nozdrzach jakąś specjalną intensywnością. Czuć kwiaty, melon, tropikalne owoce. Zapach jest "słodki". W smaku dosyć intensywna goryczka, czuć kwiaty, melon i tropiki. Jednak to wszystko jest tłem do wyżej wymienionej goryczki ( jak dla mnie bardzo przyjemnej).

Appearance: clear golden with powerful soapy off-white head and lacing. aroma/taste: grain, citrus, grapefruit and light pine. palette: strong us hoppy aroma, medium carbonation, medium body, average sweetness, somewhat dominated by a medium to notable bitterness, average to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: nice classic us ipa
Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Fruity hoppy aroma with fresh tropical fruits, citrus, grapefruit, bitter citrus peel, pine resin, light pale malt. Flavour is quite bitter, almost harshly so, with a dry finish. Body is medium. I can never resist a good West Coast IPA such as this one.
500ml bottle. Hazy dark orange colour with a frothy white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma: hoppy, grapefruit, pine. Taste: pine, grapefruit, lingering bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Good.
Okay IPA. Is a bit closed in the aroma and not as hop fresh as I hoped. But it has great bitterness.
Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home whilst cooking Wild Mushroom Pilau and Dhaniya Keema, Friday 6th January 2017 A little honey on the nose, fruity in the mouth, sweet, there is a little hoppy burn, hurrah for being the most radical of the evening thus far. Fresh, oily, hoppy resins, bitter at the edges, really good, occasionally a touch harsh but perhaps that is because of three rather easy going hoppy beers. Most enjoyable beer. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.8
Cloudy golden colour with a rocky white head. Mellow hoppy aroma with grapefruit, strawberry, some pine and peppermint. Medium, harsh body. Quite bitter flavour with pine, grass, mint, with a long dry aftertaste.
bottle sampled several times. A pretty solid archetypical west coast ipa. Nothing extravagant, some piney and bready notes on the nose, taste is typical bitter dank hoppiness, slightly caramelized malts and bread. Nice amberish hue. I refer to it as a working class west coast ipa, there when you need it after a long day at work :)

Old School IPA. Medium carbonation, medium body, medium to decent hops. Seen this type of IPA a million times.
500mml bottle tasted on the 09/10/2016. Light orange colour with a medium white head with a good retention. Aroma of light malts, medium hops and intense citrus fruits. Taste is medium fruity and malty. Aftertaste is rich fruity. Next one please!

The aroma is full of hops, citrus, lime, pine, flowers, pineapple and mango. The color is golden. The taste is full of hops, pine, citrus, mango and peaches. A nice beer!
Laranja escura, leve turbidez, espuma branca de boa formação e persistência. Aroma caramelado, abacaxi maduro, dulçor médio. Paladar de médio amargor e leve dulçor. Corpo e carbonatação médios. Final de média persistência, com amargor prevalescendo, mantendo o dulçor de fruta madura, malte fica mais evidente.
W nosie średnio intensywnie, na pierwszym planie cytrusy: cytryna i grepfruit, na drugim żywica. Aromaty bardzo rześkie i czyste. Barwa złota, niemal klarowne, ładna wysoka, drobna piana. W smaku jest naprawdę dobrze, piwo jest wytrawne, z dużą ilością cytrusów, głównie grejpfrut, po cytrusach mamy solidny ładunek nut żywicznych. Kontra słodowa jest na minimalnym poziomie o biszkoptowym charakterze. Goryczka konkretna, długa, żywiczno-grepfrutowa, lekko zalegająca. Piwo w ustach jest dość gęste, wysycenie średnie. Solidna, klasyczna West Coast IPA. Bardzo dobre. Butelka do 09.2016.
0,5l Botte. Appearance: Clear orange color with a small to medium sized white head that has a just acceptable retenntion. Aroma: light malts, lots of citrus and grassy hops, ith a gentle bitteness. Taste: light malts, lots of hops, citrus, grass, and pine and good gentle strong bitterness which becomes very bitter in the finish. slightly below average body and averge carbonation.
Hazy golden to amber color, big white head. Resin nose, grapefruit, caramel, peach. Resin taste, lemon, grapefruit, moderate bitterness, hint of grass. Medium body, soft carbonation.
