Amager The Sinner Series Lust

Amager The Sinner Series Lust

English:
This strong Belgian ale is so rich, so sweet and so luscious, that we wouldn’t hesitate calling it pure lust in a bottle. During the making of this beer the general mood in the brewhouse turned somewhat sensual if not downright erotic! And everybody involved in the brewing spontaneously engaged in heavy cheek kissing. If it wasn’t for the unexpected ring of the doorbell things could have gone even further…
This beer is so lustful that we cannot vouch for the consequences if you serve this to your girlfriend over a candlelight dinner. This may very well result in a lifelong payment of child support.
We have brewed a beer with the most sensual of sugars we could find at our local grocery store. We were tempted to spice it up with well-renowned aphrodisiacs like Spanish fly or oysters, but frankly we didn’t see the need for it.

We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

3.9 Draft at the Hive. Yum - pours clear dark amber brown with a nice tan head and good lacing. The nose is equal parts sweet grain, cocoa, sweet malt, roasted nuts. Flavors are berries, dark chocolate, malt, cocoa almonds. Rich, velvety texture with a nice full body. Luscious finish.
3.3 Smell of yeast, dough. Cloudy brown colour, brown head. Aroma of alcohol, nuts, syrup, oak. Alcohol hits really hard. Extremely sweet. Lively carbon.
3.8 From Cervezalandia. In Grimbergen glass. Watching House of Cards 1x10-11. Low carbonation and very sweet, with lots of brown sugar and noticeable alcohol burn but not up to the point of being unpleasant
3.5 0.6 l bottle @ home. Dark brown with big head. Big sweet nose with hints of coffee. Licorise, sweet alcohol and long after taste. A little sticky. Maybe a little too much and too sweet with ordinary food. Requires something special like a chokolate desert. Or just enjoy as an after meal drink. If you want Belgium style - go for the real stuff!!
3.3 50cl Bottle @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, Spain. Brown colour with tan head. Aroma is malt, dried fruits, malt, toffee, caramel. Taste follows the aroma. Medium to full body, average carbonation.

4.0 Bottle. Dark brown with a warm welcoming aroma. Very sweet but still very drinkable. Strong impact from the first sip. An excellent example of this style. Highly recommended as long as you like in your face sweetness. I do.
3.8 Bottle, 0.50l. Hazy dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, dark fruit, burnt sugar and yeast. Taste starts with sweet toasted malt, honey and caramel, follows by dry fruit, grass and mouth-coating feel with mild spicy note and light bitter finish. Full body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Alcohol not felt much, but hit me in the head immediately, could call it sweet temptation...
3.9 Dark brown with small beige head. Bread and bit roasted aroma. Taste starting with strong sweet gains remarkable fruity sourness and after a while also enough strong bitterness with some roasted notes. Slightly sweet aftertaste with bitter notes.
2.8 Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Rich ruby colour with no head. Aroma is big sweet caramel and brown sugars, a touch of chocolate, and then more sugar. The sweetness dominates the taste as well, syrupy body.
2.3 Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Sunday 8th January 2017 Pours a dark rich brown colour with a filmy white head. A very slight touch of oxo on the nose otherwise quite malty. Thick in the mouth, massively sweet, really gloopy sweetness, struggling with this, not my thing at all, far, far too sweet, toffee, sticky yep not my thing at all. A6 A3 T3 P2 Ov9 2.3
4.4 Tap - aroma is gentle and sweet, pours with very little head and perhaps a little cloudy. Taste is good but with no discernable ingredients, just smooth as silk and no indications that it is 9.2% alcohol. Drinks very easily
3.7 On tap at UJH. Hazy, brownish colour. Beige head. Sourness, berries, hints of spices, sweetness as well in the aroma. Sweet, caramelly at first. Hints of cocoa and caramel in the middle. Hints of berries in the end. Rather sweet but powerful aftertaste. Coffee, berries, caramel. Surprisingly light, but rather medium bodied, very well drinkable brew.
3.9 Tap @ basement beer bar Aalborg. Aroma of caramel and dark dried fruits. Dark brown colour with white head, mostly diminishing. Taste is moderate+ sweet and light bitter. Full body, creamy feel and sweet caramel finish.
3.2 Bottle. Pours dark golden with a medium tan head. Aroma is packed with chocolate, sugar, caramel. Excellent palate, thick and rich, very softly carbonated, sweet finish. Flavour is sweet. Demerara sugar, syrup. Very sweet, too sweet I think.
3.0 Bottle at El Pedal, Madrid. Pours mahogany with ruby shades, tan ephemerous head. Aroma is intense: red berries, milk chocolate, roses, honey, tobacco. Taste is quite sweet, powerful, full-bodied. Sour’n’sweet low-lingering finish.
3.7 Pours brown with beige head. Aroma is dark fruits, malt, toffee, caramel, alcohol. Taste is pretty much the same. Very sweet with great mouth feel. Full body with sweet aftertaste that fades fast.
3.8 The ’Belgian strong ale’ in this series of sin-themed Amager beers, bought at De Caigny in Essen. Medium thick, moussy, pale greyish beige head consisting of minute and densely packed bubbles, slowly breaking but otherwise well retaining; very dark but translucent purplish burgundy colour with dead yeast and protein dots here and there. Indeed a quite ’luscious’ aroma of candied cherries, caramel, marmelade, strong damp earth and even fairly strong FFF (freshly fermented farmland - not all too pleasant actually), pear syrup, tea, white pepper, butter melting on hot pancakes, candied fig, rum-soaked raisins, ripe blue plum, fermenting tree leaves, brown sugar, honey, soap, cloves, dusty cocoa powder. Very sweet onset, residual brown sugar, (restrained) banana ester as well as impressions of fig, raisin and medlar, balanced by a basic, soft sourishness underneath but nevertheless sticking to the teeth a bit; carbonation is on the soft side. Smooth, slick but ’fat’ mouthfeel, fruity esters, candi sugar sweetness and mild phenolic notes on top of a thick layer of caramelly and honeyish malt sweetness which gains a lightly bittering toasted note in the end; soapy wheat is noticeable too. Primarily malt and, very much so, brown sugar sweet finish with retronasal fruitiness but also a late, earthy and floral hop bitterness and, unsurprisingly, a glow of chest-warming, liqueurish alcohol flirting with astringency (and slightly ’palpable’ on the tongue’s surface at an earlier stage as well). I am not sure if quadrupel, because that is very clearly what this is, would be the beer style most associated with lust and eroticism - being Belgian, I tend to associate it more with quite the opposite in the form of monks and monasteries - but regardless of that, this is indeed a very lush, big, rich and ’baroque’ kind of beer fit for the style. Too bad for the manure-like quality in the aroma, too overly sweet to my personal taste and the alcohol could have been a bit more subtle, but otherwise certainly enjoyable.
3.0 The aroma is dried fruits, caramel, sugar, butter and a bit metallic. The color is dark brown. The taste is full of sugar, caramel, dried fruits and butter. The finish is long and sweet. Not that impressing.
3.9 Bottle at home. Two year old. Pours a slightly hazy deep reddish brown colour with a khaki head. Aroma of dried fruit, black currants, wild berries, heather, oak, fudge, bread, spices, chocolate truffles and some smoke. The flavour is more sweet and malty with syrup, cake, nuts, fudge, leather, creme brulee, oak and some alcohol. Has a soft and silky mouth feel, full-bodied and light bitterness. A very rich ale. Has a very complex aroma and a bit too sweet taste. Nice ale but I need to pair it with something to balance out the sweetness.
3.9 Pours brown with beige head. Aroma is dark fruits, malt, toffee, caramel, alcohol. Taste is pretty much the same. Very sweet with great mouth feel. Full body with sweet aftertaste that fades fast.
3.4 Draught at WilliamK Tennari. Dark brown color, white head. Bittersweet taste with citrus, ripe fruits, nuts, toffee, spices, yeast and earthy notes. Bittersweet finish with citrus, nuts, toffee, yeast and ripe fruits. Very nice brew.
3.4 black with medium off-white head, aroma of dark malts, subtle clove, some alkohol, heavy sweetness, soft spicyness, dark malts, very very very sweet, little hop-taste, gentle bitterness

3.9 Flaska från Barley Wine, Köpenhamn. Tack Kim, för köpet! Får ej säljas i Sverige pga etikett.
