Amager The Sinner Series Pride

Amager The Sinner Series Pride

English:
We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version.
We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

4.1 Bottle. Boozy aroma, alcohol, sugar, coffee, bit mostly alcohol. Cloudy black color with no head. Coffee, cocoa, chocolate and alcohol taste. Full body, creamy, thick, oily and flat. Amager Imperial Stouts tend to be really sweet, this one is not that much.
3.7 Zapach intensywny, paloność, ciemne owoce, kawa, kakao, lukrecja. Kolor czarny, nieprzejrzyste. Piana brązowa, niska, drobna, średnio trwała, zdobi szkło. W smaku umiarkowana słodycz, średnia pełnia, paloność, lukrecja, kawa, kakao, gorzka czekolada, likier czekoladowy, ziemia, alkohol. Goryczka średnia, wysycenie niskie.
3.0 50 cl bottle @ home, served in a teku glass, due date: 10/2020. Aroma: not very intense aromas of roasted coffee, roasted malts, black chocolate, cocoa. Hints of spices, brown sugar, caramel, espresso. Appearance: very dark brown color, almost black. Light brown creamy head made of tiny to small sized bubbles, low to medium head thickness and medium to high retention. Low to medium Brussels' lacing. Too dark to talk about haziness. Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness, low sourness. Flavors of roasted coffee, roasted malts, black chocolate, cocoa. Very light hints of brown sugar, burnt caramel, vanilla, dried tobacco leaves, Brettanomyces, soy sauce. Well balanced at first, more sweet at first and a bit more bitter toward the finish, but the finish is too dry and roasted. Palate: medium to full body, very silky and quite sticky texture, low to medium carbonation, very long dry finish with high bitterness and the same aforementioned flavors. Alcohol is extremely well hidden in the aroma and flavor and not noticeable at all. Throat and mouth warming is the only thing reveals the high ABV. Very low astringency and acidity from the black malts. Very good job with the black malts. Overall: good looking, not very intense aromas but very powerful flavors. Roasted coffee, roasted malts, black chocolate, cocoa. Hints of burnt caramel, tobacco, Brettanomyces, vanilla, soy sauce. Not my favourite Stout and far far away from my favourite beers from Amager but not a bad one. It would be better with less roasted and burnt flavors.
4.0 Average creamy frothy light brown head. good lacing. Mostly diminishing. Flat black body. Aroma: heavy roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, mild coffee, prune, wood.Initial flavor: moderate sweet light bitter. Final flavor: light sweet heavy bitter; long duration. Palate: full body, syrupy and dry (at the end) texture, lively carbonation and metallic heavy alcoholic finish. toques defumados no paladar dão um charme especial, amargor lupulado perfeitamente inserido confere ótima atenuação, fortissimo aquecimento alcoólico, picancia de lúpulo, retrogosto com caráter de malte queimado, não esconde o álcool, malte lembra café, 140 s
3.8 8Dec2018 Intense dark chocolate, cacao, dark roast coffee, strong filter, burnt toast. Hazy, very dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. More dark chocolate, cacao, dark roast filter coffee, burnt malts, burnt toast, charcoal, earthy, soft carbonation, full bodied. Decent. Bottle from RAD Beer, Hadnall.
4.0 Bottle, 0.33l. Thick black pour, thin brown layer on top. Minimal lacing. Nose is roasted malts paired with hints of forest fruits. A bit liquory, really nice. Medium body, medium carbonation. Pleasantly prickly. Average mouthfeel, slightly creamy texture. Roasty bittersweet taste and aroma. Roasted malts, forest fruits, figs. Caramel, sugar. Drying mouthfeel. A bit boozy, lingering alcohol with a slight burn on the tongue. Medium lasting finish, dry, charred and moderately bitter. Overall, pretty good Imperial Stout. Good balance and complexity. Tasty.
3.8 Piwo czarne z beżową pianką. W aromacie średnia intensywność. Czuć czekoladę, karmel, ciemne owoce. W smaku czekolada, suszone owoce, karmel, trochę ciemnych owoców, pumpernikiel, przypalona skórka od chleba, kawa zbożowa, duża palona goryczka. Alkohol świetnie ukryty, wysycenie niskie, potężne ciało i gładka, kremowa faktura. Mocarz.
3.8 Potężny, niebiorący jeńców RIS. Goryczkowy jak cholera, gęsty, lepki wręcz, wyraźnie czekoladowy, z nutką suszonych owoców. Minus – gryzący w gardło i dobrze wyczuwalny alkohol. Data ważności do roku 2019, mogłem poleżakować…
4.0 50cl bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, chocolate, roast malts, liquorice. Taste is sweet, chocolatey, dark fruits, liquorice, roast malts, roasty bitterness, brown sugar, on the sweet side but overall pretty well balanced without any adjuncts. Full bodied, fine carbonation. Nice one.
3.7 Small brown head. Quite intensive aroma of chcolate, coffee, vanilla, dried plums - so porter in aroma. Taste of dried plums, chocolate, coffee, some vanilla hints. Alcoholic finish. Bitter is high leveled. Medium-high body, low carbonation. Tasty one but alcohol could be more hidden.
3.9 330ml bottle. Pours dark brown, small brown head. Aroma is roasty, sweeter side, bit fruity, prunes. Taste is roasty, liquorice, ashy, malty. Bitter hoypy finish. Full body, average carbonation. Nice hoppy finish, I really like it
3.9 Flaske. Sort flot skum som svinder helt. Aroma er mørk malt og en smule metallisk. Smagen er mørk malt, god balance, en lille smule sødme og let bitterhed i eftersmagen. Fin stout som hverken er for sød eller for tung.
3.8 Oily black body, creamy tan head. Light malty coffee aroma. Bitter, dark chocolatey, coffee aroma, dark roasted malts. Medium body, low medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel.
3.7 50cl-fles van bij Bierhalle Deconinck te Vichte. U: Zwart met een lichtbruine schuimkraag. G: Donker fruit, melkchocolade en zoethout. S: Zoet met een lichte moutbitterheid. Licht geroosterd, koffiechicorei, chocolade en licht donker fruit. M: Volmondig, lichte carbonatie en romig.
4.1 50cl fles. Zwart bier met bruin schuim. Geur: licht zoet, melkchocolade. Smaak: koffiechicorei, licht zoet, alcoholisch, ietwat donker fruit. Romig mondgevoel. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Lekker
4.0 500 ml bottle from Taps Beer Bar Changkat in Kuala Lumpur. Appearance is a viscous, densely opaque black pour topped with a surprising amount if tan froth, which persists for quite a stretch and recedes with sticky lacing. Aromas are subdued and non distinct, but there is a roasty smoky malts in there along with sweet dark dried fruits. Taste is big in this one, where should I start? Smoky roasted malts with plenty of bitter, dark dried sweet fruits like cherries and prunes, light touches of roasted coffee, booziness like bourbon, but this is not barrel aged, and the alcohol burn. Mouthfeel is thick, full, oily and slick. Amazaballs!
4.4 Pours rich coffee-sable with a thick and persistent tan head. Aroma yields roast malt, coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, molasses and earthy hints. Flavor features mouth-filling notes of chocolate, molasses, roast malt, quality coffee, and earthy and woody underpinnings. Texture presents firm, viscous body and peppy fizz. One way to swallow your pride. ;)
4.7 (∞-noire, choco-cara, grasse, gourmande, fruit mûr, choco, fin onctueuse, last > hop, jolis 10%, masculine)
3.7 Bottle, 500 ml, from Hoppiness. Shared with Max, kajser 27 and JFK10000. Pours black, medium beige head. Chocolate, roasted malts, some sweetness, sweetish, bit harsh bitter finish. Medium bodied.
4.2 Sweet, creamy and easy to drink. Both bottle and Draft works well. Good head.
3.5 Stor respekt for Amager Bryghus. Et af de allerbedste bryggerier i landet. Denne stout er meget overvældende. Lidt for overvældende til min smag. Eftersmagen bliver lidt for bitter. Men en rigtig god Imperial Stout.
3.2 Nice balance, sweet but hoppy. Pine, dried fruit, tobacco, leather. A very easy to drink beer, concediring it's high alcohol prosentage.
4.2 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with little k light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vinous notes. Tastes slightly bitter with quite some sweetness. Medium bodied.
3.9 Pivo u flaši. Popijeno u Gourmet Shopu & Tasting Roomu "Pötãman" u Premanturi. Bogata aroma kave i karamele. Okus prati aromu i nešto je malo slađi ali ne previše.. Toliko..

3.6 Dark brown and with slight fruity notes. Taste is sweet and ripe fruits, figs and some plums. Palate is long and sweet.
3.6 Shared bottle at home. Poors opaque black with thick medium brown head and full body. Nice presence of hops and malts, coffee tones, espresso beans, liquorice, bitter sweet aftertaste, fair lacing. Was paired with a Havana montecristo cigar. Interesting experience, yet I expected more for an imperial stout.
