Amager The Sinner Series Wrath

Amager The Sinner Series Wrath

Danish: Saisoner er in. Saisoner er hippe. Simpelthen.

English: Saisons are in. Saisons are hip. It’s as simple as that. So far, no one has come up with a good explanation
as to why this very traditional Belgian farmhouse style has suddenly skyrocketed in popularity amongst the
in- crowd of the beer geek nation. Except, of course, for the fact it’s simply a very delicate drink in all of its
refined simplicity. But we’ve committed a sin. We couldn’t resist. We poured our Amager Saison variety
into a barrel. We hope the soft tannins from the wood and the noble Pinot Noir grapes add a juicy extra
twist. By doing so, we may bring the wrath of Saison fundamentalists upon ourselves. But frankly, we don’t
give a damn!

We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

3.2 Aromas a leva y ligeramente acidos Buen aspecto carbonatacion correcta En boca refrescante seca y acida
4.3 From Cervezalandia. In Teku glass. Playing Gunman Clive. The wood notes are very subtle, hard to find, but the grapes profile is really notorious and pleasant
3.5 50cl Bottle @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, Spain. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is yeast, citrus, malt, sweet, white wine. Taste is malt, yeast, citrus, toffee, hints of banana. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.7 W nosie średnio intensywnie: karmel, pieprz, banan, nuty winne i delikatna beczka. Barwa bursztynowa, spore zmętnienie, piękna, wysoka piana o drobnych ziarnach, bardzo gęsta. W smaku dość słodkie, karmel, przyprawy, czerwone słodkie winogrona, nuty winne, drewno. Goryczka niska pieprzowo-przyprawowa. Eh, gdyby nie ten karmel.... Butelka do 12/2017
3.7 Sharp peppery belgian yeast, soft chocolate, solid body, grainy caramel middle, medium sweetness.
3.2 Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Deep golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma is toffee and light fruit. Taste is mid sweet, with mid sweet finish.
3.2 Bottled 500ml (Beergium. batch 714) Hazy amber color, small steady white head. Fruityness, some sugary notes, cardboard and grass. Medium-bodied. Some fruityness, a bit earthy, Belgi yeasty, light alcohol. A bit white wineous. Not common Saison but more like strong Belgian ale, feels more than 6.5%.
3.8 Fizzy copper colour, creamy white head. Grassy and wheaty aroma with cereal, banana, lemon. Medium body with a slight acidic sting. Great, subtly sour flavour with wheat, grapes, pepper, plum and cereal.
2.0 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
3.3 Fin smag af malte og noget karamel. Aner i baggrunden lidt citronsaft eller smag.
3.8 .5l bottle from Estonia Sip. Tnx. Aleksi KSFSK. Pours cloudy amber with medium, stiff head. Aroma is yeast, malts, citrus fruits, caramel, some herbs and bread. Flavor is mostly same. Nice beer but not ideal saison.
3.8 Bottle, 0.50l. Cloudy amber brown color with medium creamy off-white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of wine, tanins, vanilla, dark fruit and wood. Taste starts medium sweet grainy with vanilla note, follows by dried fruits, grass, nuts and strong barrel note, mouthfeel is smooth, alcoholic and mild spicy, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium to full body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Barrel aging just doesn’t suit me well with this saison. Feels even more strong ale-ish...
3.2 Smell of citrus, yeast, some hops. Hazy dark amber colour, very high beige head. Aroma of fruit, oak, cognac, alcohol, some yeast. Medium sour, slightly bitter, finishes medium sweet. Lively and rather sharp carbon. Slightly oily texture.
3.4 Pours cloudy brownish gold with a small white wisp. Aroma is light yeast and sweetness. Light wine characteristics are delicate. Taste is nice and dry, raisin, yeast, light sweetness and some soft pinot noir delicacies. Really nice beer.
2.9 Citrus, lemon acid in aroma. Appearance: hazy golden color and thin white head. Taste: zesty, lemon acid, malty, caramel, some funky notes. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, zesty finish. Overall: Rather decent, should be more intensive but as I,m not bg fan of this style then I cant add much!
3.6 strong dark orange color with huge white head, phenolic-spicy saison aroma with hints of hops, banana, aged beer, very fruity hefeweizen-like taste, banana, ends spicy phenolic hoppy, thick creamy mouthfeel, not so dry, medium sweetness, slightly funky but not like brett,
3.5 Bottle (500 ml). Best before 04/2017. Clear deep golden-orange with a medium white head, good retention, leaving some lacing. Aroma is of pinot noir, quite floral with moderate fruitiness, cereals, caramel, mild oak spiciness and herbal notes. Taste is mildly tart and quite floral again with pinot noir, oak tannins, cereals, mild caramel, oak spiciness and herbal bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is quite tannic. Finish is a bit too harsh for my liking. Not bad at all but could be more refined. Barrel treatment seems to be not enough in terms of winey presence but too much in terms of tannins so there’s definitely some adjustments to make there. Drinkability would be rather good if it was not of the harsh finish. Ok.
3.2 Aroma: zesty, citrus, lemon acid. Appearance: hazy golden color and thin white head. Taste: zesty, lemon acid, malty, caramel, some funky notes. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, zesty finish. Overall: Rather decent, should be more intensive.
3.5 Pours hazy amber with small off white head. Aroma: fruity, sugar, caramel, banana, toffee. Taste: caramel, fruity. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
4.2 W aromacie duuzo cech porzadnego saisona; pieprznosc, przyprawy, masa przypraw.
3.3 Pours an amber body with a medium head. The aroma is really nasty but the taste makes up for it. It is really nice and rich of malty flavours.
3.5 Bottle from Uba ja Humal. BB 04.2017. Was afraid the Pinot Noir would be too present in this one, but in fact it’s not - I do get a hint of the wine barrel, giving it a somewhat spicy, tanninic, red grape character. It is quite mellow, but manages to add a pretty interesting touch to the otherwise kinda forgettable Saison. Somewhat grainy on the palate; dryish finish with a bit of bitterness, mellow carbonation. Can’t help but consider it a bit boring despite the barreling effort...
4.0 Tolle Kombination schon beim schnuppern. AGAIN: 0,5l Bottle. 8/4/7/4/17Das Pinot Noir Fass hat also geliefert.
3.7 Bottle from State Line. Pours hazy dark straw with off-white head. Nose was hops, citrus, white pepper, spice, red winey fruit. Tasted hoppy and citric, with some late notes of red wine grapes and grape must which adds a complexity to the finish. Solid beer.
3.7 500 mml bottle tasted on the 27/01/2016. Pours hazy colour with medium off-white head. Fruity and woody aroma. Medium sweet body and fruity flavour. Next one please!
3.3 On Tap. @El Cabanón, Avilés 22/01/2016. Color amarillo, sabor levadura notas a vino, final agrio.
3.4 Keg @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 19-01-2016. Had it before several times, bottle and tap. Not rated till now. In short: spicy woody "saison". Pours hazy amber with frothy off white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Fruity, apricot, apple, ripe fruit, some wood nose. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is fruity, very little tart, some astringency, noticed wood notes. Little saison character, more into barrel aged. Peculiar and saturating.
3.1 50cl bottle shared with friends. Somewhat hazy amber with a medium white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Medium bitterness with subtle sweet tones. Malts, caramel, grass, citrus and herbs. Not the best.
