Amarcord AMA Mora

Amarcord AMA Mora

- Lieve carbonatazione, corpo intenso e sostenuto.
(ENG) AMA is a transatlantic brewing project that carries the signature of Amarcord Beer, with its origins in a meeting in New York with Garrett Oliver, the Brooklyn Brewery brewmaster, and the internationally famous designer Milton Glaser, amongst other things the inventor of the "I love NY" logo. /// Ama Mora, Imperial Coffee Porter: A selected blend of choice coffees gives complexity and depth to the dark beer with a compact creamy head. Coffee notes in the bouquet, which is particularly broad and fascinating. Hints of chocolate in the mouth, together with nuts and liquorice for an unforgettable experience. ///
- Hazelnut foam, dense, creamy and persistent.

- Dark brown color.

- Mild carbonation, body intense and sustained.

- Powerful its olfactory intensity and extraordinary olfactory finesse amplified by the special ingredients used: powerful scents of roasted coffee, accompanied by molassed sugar cane. We use a special selection of Pascucci’s coffee and the precious Demerara cane sugar from Malawi (one of the most southern African States), that gives Ama Mora an extraordinary aroma.

- In the mouth cappuccino’s flavour, extremely long taste of sweet coffee, roasted notes. In the final subtle notes of vanilla equilibrated with the freshness of liquorice.

- Aftertaste full of coffee’s aroma, roasted malt wrapped in the notes of cool licorice, pleasantly dryness comes from the hops and the roast malt and obviously from the alcohol.

4.0 355ml bottle at 67 Kapital, Valletta. Very dark brown. Rich malty aroma, with coffee, roasted nuts and caramel. Hazelnut is strong in the flavour.
3.7 0.355l bottle from alsace, bb 20.04.2019. pours a clear deep chestnut with a small off-white head. aroma of roast, coffee, molasses, tobacco. flavour of molasses, coffee, liquorice. interesting.
4.1 Reviewed October 09, 1014 Got this and its imported brothers from the Seiyu Department Store online which is owned by Wal-Mart here in Japan. I didn't figure it would be much of a beer but the bottle was cool so I bought it. Poured a perfect black and smelled so much coffee I though I might be smelling a dish soap at first. A deeper whiff brings me into a deep, dark roast of malts and coffee. Stout? Porter.. Whatever it is, it's going to be thick. Taste was in line with the smell and I like it. No lacing now that its half down, but this brew stays complex and inviting to the end. I'd like to have this again. Click, click.
3.7 33cl Bottle @ Saveur-Biere, Lille, France. Black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, sweet, toffee. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, toffee, nuts. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.0 (> café (ad), ~fumé, ~choco, moyenne > café (s’outrancise), ~choco, < amer (20), sucre (ad), 9% pas efficaces)
3.7 Brunatne praktycznie nieprzezroczyste piwo z ładną kremową pianą. Aromat kawy i czekolady. W smaku podobnie, głównie kawa, czekolada, trochę jak likier kawowy. Praktycznie brak nut palonych. Niezły porter
3.1 Bottiglia: Deep chestnut-amber coloured, quickly collapsing loose brown head; toasted malt, coffee and traces of tobacco and vanilla in the nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, almost full bodied and quite soft; lingering sweet-bitter chocolatey/coffeeish finish with a slightly increasing bitterness in the aftertaste. Well, a well drinkable, but not very exciting brew...
3.7 35.5cl bottle at La Casina del Bosco, Rimini, Italy. Pours black with minimal yellowish foam, very fine. Aroma is intense of licorice, coffee, dark chocolate. Body is dense, highly sticky, with average carbonation. Taste is intensely sweet with limited carbonation. Finish is very long and pleasant.
3.9 12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/16/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of nutty medium roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big medium roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/woody/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark/brown bread, light smoke/char/dark fruit, herbal, wood, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance, and zero acrid/astringent roast/hop notes after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is a delicious English style imperial coffee porter. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish, not overly roasty. Nicely rich malts and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; balancing earthy hops and mild fruity yeast notes. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
To piwo to głównie kawa. W smaku to samo co w aromacie prawie. To kawa go zdominowała. Piwo zdradliwe, a alkohol ładnie ukryty. Niemniej to jednak porządne piwo.
3.7 Bottle from Piwoteka in Lodz. Ladna butelka i ladnie wygladajace piwo po nalaniu. Czarne geste ze srednia piana i srednio trwala. Zapch wystygnietej dobrej wloskiej kawy. W smaku kawa, lekka palonosc, likier czekoladowy i rozgrzewajacy alkohol, ktory jest sprytnie ukryty. Bylo by lepsze i bardziej wytrawne bez tego cukru z Malawi. Tak bym preferowal.
3.0 Barwa czarna nieprzejrzysta. Obfita drobno pęcherzykowa beżowa piana. Słaby lacing. Aromat intensywnie kawowy.
4.6 0,355ml bottle. Thick black colour with quickly disappearing beige head. Aroma: Very spicey, lots of black pepper, clove, roasted coffee bean, light vanilla notes. Taste: Oh my! Sweet malty start with lots of roasted tones and spices almost like a cognac but without any alcoholic caracter and has a medium bitter balanced mouthfeel. Very good to drink, and has a wonderful warming feel. Full body with soft carbonation. Long gentle bitter/spicey finish with a never ending warm stomach. This is my first imperial porter and this is a very good beer.
3.4 Vrlo intezivnog okusa i mirisa. Ide dobro uz meso kao i većina portera.....
3.3 Bottled, 330ml from Booth’s Supermarket in Kendal, Cumbria. Very dark brown with cream head. There is a sweet, roasty coffee flavour from the start of this, dark roasted malts, a hint of boiled vegetable. The coffee is the most dominant aspect of the beer, but there is a also a note of bovril going on. Lasting on the palate. It’s fine.
3.3 Bottle, 0 35l. Black pour with one finger soapy beige head. Quickly diminishing, leaving a thin layer on top. Malty nose, roasted with lots of caramel and nice and subtle coffee notes in the background. Thin to medium body with somewhat light texture. Carbonation is pretty high and aggressive, killing the flavors a bit. Mildly bittersweet taste, slightly roasted. Aroma pretty nice, not intense, subtle. Coffee grains, cappuccino, cocoa powder. A bit grainy. Touch of caramel and raisins. Slight alcohol presence, very subtle, ABV is masked well. Regular finish, slightly bitter. Lovely cappuccino aftertaste. Overall, good, but there’s room for improvement. Lower carbonation and fuller body would make a huge difference here.
3.9 0.33 l bottle. Shared with Višnja 666 and Nikola. Black, oily, small tan head. Strong coffee aroma, spice, ash, toasty. Very dry, roasty, light bitter, macchiatto. Creamy texture, medium bitter, lingering dry coffee finish. Good one, strong coffee profile, tasty although lacks complexity.
3.6 Bottle shared with shonali at csakajo. Deep brown colour, small lightbrown colour with bubbles. Nose is ground coffee. Taste is medium bitterness faint sweetness. Strong coffee notes, and definitve ground. Potatoe. Even though i like coffee i prefer my beer to have at least some notes of a beer.
2.6 bottle from MoritzF! Deep black, small beige head. Cghocolatey, with hints of coffee and boiled vegetables.
3.7 355ml long neck bottle bought at YATA in New Town Plaza, Shatin. Looks: Clear deep Cola blackish brown colour; Less than one quarter finger head and residual soapy light beige foam which fades in 20 seconds; Fair sticky lacing with very slight carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet dark malt, with strong roastyness, caramel, toffee, light rum, strong liquorices, roasted coffee, chocolate, cream, floral, sugar, bread, yeast and grass. Pretty complex! Taste: Close to strong sweet full dark malt, with coffee, light rum, liquorices, caramel, strong toffee, chocolates, strong cream, floral, brown sugar, bread, lemon, mid to strong bitter hops and strawy grass. Body: Mid to full body. Quite thick and very slick palate. Mouth Feel: Excellent full dark maltyness in a solid, fairly creamy background. A fine mix of roasted coffee - not quite espresso - and strong liquorices get things going, followed by strong toffee, cream and caramel. Nice brown sugar sweetness. Strong flowery lemon to round. Very easy and comfy! Hoppiness: Floral and grass in nose. Lemon, strong floral and strawy grass in taste; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, mid to high astringent sweet coffee finish. After Taste: Slightly dry. Sweet, roasty and quite bitter to mouth. Comments: This last AMA beer I got is the real deal - solid dark maltyness, good dose of roasted coffee, creamy body, nice touch of rum booze with strong liquorices and nice brown sugar. Its taste pretty much back up its impressive aroma, yet its light and comfy enough as a strong Porter. Well balanced and very enjoyable. Nice one!
