Amstel 1870

Slightly dark in color, this beer has the right degree of bitterness.

2.6 *Old rating, best before Apr-11. Nettes, goldenes, leicht süßliches Bier. Getreidig, moderat hopfig. Nett aber nicht zu tief.
2.3 A beer brewn in a more classic Amstel style. I am not a big fan of Amstel anyway, so not of this beer as well. It has too much of a weak bitter taste.
2.1 Botella 33 cl tomada en el momento. S mateo. 20..09..2015.
Was vroeger een redelijk alternarief voor Brand Up.
3.1 Bottle 0.5l. Yellow beer with a solid taste. Its better than most beers here in Croatia so it can pass.
2.0 backlog deeper clear yellow colour with a white head. taste of bread, citrus, malts. some bitterness hops??, sweet, watery, nothing special.
3.3 Flesje van 30 cl. Iets donkerder dan de normale pils met een mooie schuimkraag. Licht bittertje met toch ook iets fris. Zoete afdronk die redelijk snel weg is
3.7 Only a slight difference with the regular Amstel Lager in my opinion. Brewn as a ’throwback’ to Amstel’s original days.
2.4 Dark gold colour with white head, aroma of hops, yeasts, the same are flavours, little mudy, low carbonation, medium bitterness.
2.8 300ml bottle at Prego Restaurant, Amsterdam (€3.50): Darker than your average pilsner and sticky-sweet on the way down, this beer was undoubtedly a major improvement on the brewery’s flagship offering but at the same time it wasn’t anything special and it’s not one I’d be likely to order again.
3.4 Goldgelbe Farbe, bitterer Geschmack, gutes Kohlensäuregehalt, malziger Nachgeschmack.
3.5 Gold pour with watery white head. Aroma is pilsner malt and light corn. Flavor is semi sweet corn with a touch of malt and a good floral hops. Medium light body with good carbonation. Ok beer
2.2 (tap 10/03-2015) low white head, clear yellow color, high co2, light bitter, rather long malty taste.
3.0 Amstel was Holland’s first bottom-fermenting brewery and this beer was made to commemorate that, much like that Cristal 1928 made by Alken-Maes in Belgium. Deep golden blonde, cristal clear with good fizz, frothy and stable, snow white head; malty, sweetish, medium carbonation, with a finish remarkably more hop bitter than the regular Amstel and in that sense a lot better - but it remains a straightforward pale lager, of course.
1.8 Currently I am updating my ratebeer with al the beers I drank but was too lazy to rate at the time. I give the scores I gave back than. If I drink the beers again I might re-rate them.
1.8 Poured medium golden with a small off white head. Aroma of sweet grainy malt, lightly chemical. Medium body, flavour is sickly sweet and unbalanced.
2.3 ************************************************************************************************ Prima Goed Redelijk Matig + Niet mijn smaak
2.5 330 mml bottle tasted on 30/07/2014. Hoppy beer with a medium bitterness. Aftertaste has some yeast and grains. Next one please!
2.4 Not a great taste, but not as baf as disgusting. This beer doesn’t look good, and the taste is at the level as the look.
1.9 500ml draft. Aroma is very light hops. Appearance is pale yellow with a light white foam. Taste us light sweet and butter. A light dryness. Strong carbonation. OK.
1.6 Ondanks dat de score laag uitvalt vindt ik dit geen verkeerd biertje. Het is lekker zoetig en dat bevalt me.
2.1 Bottle. Pours golden with a white head. Malty, sweetish, litte bitterness. Ok pilsener.
2.6 Aroma of malts and some hops. Flavour is malty, light sweetness, with some bitternes in the aftertaste. Much better than the ’regular’ Amstel.
2.5 Pours yellow color with a frothy head. Rough grain and hay. Smooth and dry.
2.0 Chemical aroma. Nice light appearance. Fine on the palate but can't get over how chemical it tastes. Giving it points for availability only and because I'm sure it tasted nicer in amsterdam.
2.4 Bottle. Clear golden colour with large creamy white mostly lasting head. Malty and hoppy aroma. Sweet bitter flavor.
1.8 Pours clear golden yellow with minimal head, greasy glass maybe? Mild hops and malts for aroma and something hard to describe, hay...grass perhaps. Sweet and bitter, distant hops. Thin and watery mouthfeel with average carbonation. Guess it’s better then the regular Amstel but that’s as far as I go. Definitly a one timer.
