The California Gold Rush compelled thousands to Go West! “to see the elephant,” a metaphor for the doggedly optimistic risk-taking linked then and now with America’s intensified pursuit of happiness. As early as 1849, India Pale Ale—prepared by British brewers for export to India by adding dry hops to barrels of hoppy ale—was also going west, from England around the Horn to San Francisco. In 1975, Anchor—America’s first craft brewery—led the modern revival of dry-hopped handmade ales.
Fast-forward to Go West! IPA™, made with 2-row pale barley malt and dry-hopped with a unique blend of 4 American hops. Its mouthwateringly complex aromas of citrus, pine, and the tropics; spiky bitterness; gleaming golden color; and clean finish unite to create this singular 24-karat IPA. This brew pours bright, clear golden color with light tan head, has strong tropical and citrus fruit aromas balanced by the spiky freshness of pine needles. Mousse : Belle mousse blanche crémeuse

Nez : Fruits exotiques, fond malté résineux, orange, mangue
Bouche : Très fruitée : fruits tropicaux, agrumes (orange). Corps consistant, sucré presque caramel, malté houblon pinède très résineux sur le malt et orange sucrée tapissant le palais. Amertume puissante et résineuse accompagne le malt fruité sucré jusqu’en fin de bouche. Longue persistance orange et amertume.
Avis : IPA puissamment fruitée, assez sucrée, corps très affirmé et consistant. Elle est savoureuse et ‘’nourrissante’’ mais son manque de finesse est à déplorer.
A bit smoky taste
De botella, no tan helada. Fuerte, amarga. Pomelo, naranja intenso de principio a fin. Poca espuma. Rica cerveza para conversarla de a poco.
Aroma is citrus, pineapple, and a mild earthiness. Taste has an almost Belgian ale like dark fruitiness that is met by citrus and pine needles.Nice depth.
Notes dated 22/01/18. Handsome, elephant-emblazoned tin. Veiled orange with a fine slender foam. Decent peach, pine, Grapefruit, wine gum and slightly bilious aroma. Some nougat, peppery booze and oak-like heft behind soapy and bitter orange hop. Easy to drink but a bit dull. As it tires the booze wins out. Lacks a notch of hop freshness for me, Clive. OK. But not as good as the tin.

Malgré le léger trouble, belle couleur orange + mousse blanche sympathique. Odeurs : fruits tropicaux, agrumes, ananas, pin et ... des houblons. Saveurs fraîches sur les fruits et le résineux. Corps imposant, moyenne carbonatation et une amertume marquée comme j'aime. Très plaisant!

Color ámbar anaranjado y corona de espuma canela que aguanta en copa de maravilla. Aromas a pino y fruta cítrica y sabor a resinas y cítricos. Intensamente amarga.
Citrus pine aroma in a golden amber pour. Hop forward balance with a surprisingly malty fruit body and a clean laid back finish.
Bottle. Hazy dark golden colour with a medium white head, nose is citric, floral and slightly malty with notes of pineapple, mango, banana and passion fruit, taste is slightly sweet and bitter with a dry and herbal finish.
Garrafa. Coloração entre o laranja emo cobre. Espuma de ótima formação e persistência. Aroma herbal e floral, nuance cítrico. Sabor herbal pungente com com fundo cítrico. Final seco. Ótima Cerveja!
A different IPA but one of the best. Taste clear and refreshing, not so bitter, fruity and citrus.
By far, my favourite from Anchor. The taste is so rich and the aroma is one of the best not only in IPAs but in beers in general. One of hhe most equilibrate beers one can find.
Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.
Bottle. Hazy copper, low offwhite head. Fresh peachy, light pine and citrus. Medium body, mellow, a hint Chrystal, grassy, light iodine, orangepeel and pine finish.
Bottle. Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is old fashioned woodfloor hops, toasted malts, a touch cat piss. Taste is bready, toasted malts, quite a bitter finish, almost medicinal, iod. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Solid!
Color naranja oscuro, translúcida. Espuma blanca escasa y efímera. Aroma a cítricos dulces, herbal y, ligeramente, resinoso. Sabor cítrico, esta vez más amargo aunque no llega a pomelo, resinoso. Textura acuosa y chispeante.

Wieder ein amerikanisches (Craft-)bier, das es in die österreichischen Supermarktregale geschafft hat. Neben dem Anchor Steam, das schon länger erhältlich ist, gibt es jetzt auch noch ein IPA.
Und das ist ganz gut gelungen. Typisches amerikanisches IPA mit allen Aromen, die drinnen sein müssen...vllt ein bisschenzu herb, aber auf jeden Fall ok.
Birra ipa da San Francisco con una miscela di 4 luppoli americani. Color arancio chiaro e schiuma bianca poco persistente. Al palato sentori di agrumi, resina di pino e tropical. Medio corpo e media carbonazione, piuttosto amara nel finale.

the aroma is hoppy and fruity with hints of bitter orange, grapefruit, pine, key lime and spicy herbs... the taste is hoppy and fruity with notes of grapefruit, key lime, pine needles, orange and spicy grasses... bitter and dry aftertaste...
Tropical fruits, resin in aroma. Yellow, haze with small white head. Tropical fruits, medium bitterness, dry finish. Medium body.

Citrus hops aroma. Taste is grape fruit, orange peel, exotic fruit.
Bitter, sweet, creamy, nice.
Lukt: barnål, fersken, banan?, mango, ananas,
Smak: fersken, ananas, mandarin, banan, ferskt brød, honning, vanilje?
Kremete, mye karbonering,
Fin, søt og lys maltsødme. Tåkete raven i fargen
Ikke så overveldende bitterhet. Mye mere "forsiktig". Sitter fint igjen på tungen.
God balanse mellom malt og humle. Gode tropiske og dype humlearomaer. Minner nesten om Frydenlun belgisk hveteøl med sine fine lette tropiske humlearomer, men dette er helt klart et annet beist.
Fin lang bitter ettersmak. En god og frisk IPA. Mer av denne!
