Bitter flavour of hops and citrus, with estery and malty notes and funky touches, and hints of vanilla and fruit. Bitter aftertaste with acidic touches. Clean, well-balanced and very nice. A good example of the style.
4.2 Bottle, 7%. Distinct lemony and funky aroma. Mild vanilla note, must also be from the yeast. Cloudy golden colour. Good stable plasticky white head. The flavour is quite citric to begin with. Then comes a funky, lemony, grapefruity note with a distinct grapefruit bitterness. Late funk. Has a little acid bite, but fairly mild. High carbonation. Very flavourful and refreshing.
3.9 Orange yellow pour with white head. Aroma is acidic citrus. Taste is yeasty sour acidic grapefruit.
4.0 Bottle from Willows Market in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is fruity yeast easters, citrus peels, some peppercorns. Taste is dry, oaky, pithy grapefruit. A bit crisp and dry...was hoping for a bit more funky fruit but overall still excellent.
3.8 Sampled September 2016 A soft, but steady pour produces a four-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head; the head has lots of staying power. The beer is a straw color that shows a lightly hazed, yellow-golden hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of spicy citrus, and tropical fruit; bright yuzu, lots of grapefruit, peppery lychee, floral green tropical fruit, gooseberries, and a sort of musty, woody, pine leaning, amply ripe tropical fruit note that has a peppery / woody kick in the finish. Toasted oak notes (was this aged in a barrel?), and a hint of nutty pale malt, as well as sunbaked grain character adds some non-hop derived complexity to the nose. Effervescent, astringent in the finish, with a light, refreshing body that has a tannic boost. The beer has a solid bitterness from beginning to end, with a bright hop-fruit character; peppery yuzu zest, green floral citrus, not quite ripe lychee, gooseberries, and kiwi skins are all noticeable here. There is a soft, phenolic, mustiness here, some spice accentuating notes (pepper, perhaps ginger), and lots of grapefruit zest (and even pith it seems). The malt character plays a supporting role here; hints of sunbaked pale grain, and a touch of malted nutty notes add a touch of roundness to the flavor. Lots of citrus, tropical fruit, and a light funkiness makes for an interesting and refreshing beer here. Nicely done, though I might like the addition of tartness from the JP one a bit more.
3.2 Orange (clear then cloudy), foamy head. Tons of funk, slightly musty and sour, tart, with a bitter, astringent citrus finish that mellows and becomes more sweet and balanced as it warms.
3.8 Copenhagen 18/5 2018. 75 cl bottle from Mikkeller Webshop. Some Crazy Bearded Half-Naked Modern Medicine Man with Antlers and a Pumpkin Head on the label. Must be kind of Chilly in Alaska. Pours hazy pale yellow with big white head. Settles as fluffy thin layer of foam crawling up the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.Aroma is intense and sour Wild, sour Forest Berries with a Strong Citric influence. Grape Fruit in Abundance. Acerbic. Touch of Black Pepper and alcohol. Medium carbonation providing lively, prickly mouthfeel. Slightly thick creamy texture. Flavor is moderately sweet followed by strong citric sourness. Aftertaste is sour bordering on being acidic. Finish is dry. Nice sour Saison with a Decent ABV. What's not to like?
3.3 26th March 2018; Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group in Chez Sophie. Cheers Paolo for this 75cl bottle. Cloudy yellow pour, white crown on top. Mini-sourness throughout with a slight pepper flavour within the citrusy grapefruit taste.

3.6 750ml corked bottle. Funky Brett aroma with notes of grapefruit citrus, saison yeast and spicy peppercorns. Starts with funky Brett and grapefruit hop citrus and acidity as well as a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry and funky with spicy saison yeast and peppercorn flavors. Pretty good stuff.

3.8 750 ml corked and caged bottle from Pilgrim’s. Batch #2, bottled in December of 2014, about two and a half years ago. Aroma is Bretty, dusty, grapefruit, apricot, floral, chalky candy, oak, vanilla. Pours hazy yellow with a thick white soapy head with good retention and some lace. Taste is lightly tart and dry, finishing pithy and bitter. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated, a little thin. Aroma is more impressive than flavor. Nice beer, but not quite as good as I was hoping. 8,4,7,3,16
4.0 Draft at Bru Craft. Top of this rare keg. Very hazy golden yellow with an impressive top of smooth white foam. Thick lace. Wonderfully balanced dry lemony sour. Oak. Lemon curd. Oyster crackers. Tender celery hearts. Lime. White pepper. Bitter finish invites the next sip. Had the Jolly Pumpkin version back in August 2016. Hard to say which one is better. Both are fantastic!
4.0 Bottle; pours cloudy yellow gold with a white head; funky aroma with lemon, grapefruit, pepper, and some additional citrus fruit hints; taste is slightly tart grapefruit and other citrus fruits with yeast funk and some grassy notes; finish is dry and bitter with some pepper and lingering citrus
3.4 65cl bottle from systembolaget. Pours hazy golden with big head. Fruity aroma with sweet citrus and hoppy wheaty taste. Short bitter, peppery after taste.
3.4 On tap @ ChurchKey Washington DC - A particularly hoppy saison, resulting in a strongly dry, grapefruit tart finish. I look for that in an IPA, but it was somewhat overdone for a saison to my taste. Excellent quality beer.
3.9 Aroma: citrusa kirbis, persiks.Loti gards, citrusigs, greipfrutigs un savelk muti tieshi ka vajadzetu. Fonaa kkads iesals arii meetaajaas. Labi labs sours
4.0 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Kwaskowata, bogata w rustykalne klimaty drożdżowość plus dużo owoców - limonka, grejpfrut, winogrona.
3.8 Poured from a batch 1, 2014 bottle. Aroma is full of bright grapefruit notes, though they are starting to dull. Some light peppercorn notes with a light floral note. Hints of grain and oak. Pours a somewhat clear, bright yellow-gold with a medium sized, medium thick, white head that recedes quickly to the edges where a thin film lingers for quite some time. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor has a moderate acidity with a light sweetness and dry finish. Lots of grapefruit peels and juice. Some light peppercorn notes with some coriander phenolic notes and hints of lemongrass. Low bitterness with faint floral notes. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer with a lot of grapefruit notes. Some floral and herbal notes. The age is dulling the brightness a bit, but it’s still very nice and refreshing.
