Orange hazy colour, small white head. smells of ripe fruits, light oranges, musty, light sweetness, marzipan, nutty. very lovely smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, spices, ripe fruits, grassy, lightly boozy, wood, grapes, tobacco, marzipan, nutty, herbal, light apple notes. finishes dry and lightly bitter with notes of spices, wood and grassy notes. very nice and interesting one, very unique, very expressive and complex maybe not the best balance (anymore) but overall very nice beer.

750 ml bottle, batch #4 12/2015, shared by Werckmeister, thanks!
Amber, medium hazy body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, light yellow head.
Aroma of herbs, spices, wood, white wine, grapes, sour berries, some tea, some lemon.
Tastes quite similar, but with more dry wine barrel.
Medium, slick mouthfeel mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes dry, wooden, vinous, spicy, a bit fruity, with tea, rosehip.
Good, while I was expecting more. Too much wine barrel and spicy/herbal notes for me, that aren't too balanced in my opinion. Still an interesting beer, really unique stuff, but not how I like a Saison.
4.1Bottle (Shared by BVery- Thanks!); pours cloudy light amber with a white head; aroma of yeast funk with some light spice and some citrus and floral hints; taste is yeasty with citrus, a little pepper, and traces of wood; dry finish with a hint of the pinot
2.8Bomber shared by Bvery, thanks? Aroma is fine, tart apples. Taste is strange, like dandelion stems (thanks for that explanation Brian). Not sure what happened here.
4.0Bottle share by Brian, thanks! Pours a clear light yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of herbal and floral notes with some tonic and a bit of funky grains. Flavor has a funky note with some herbal grains, flora and a light fruit note supporting.
3.3Bottle shared by Brian, thanks! Golden yellow pour with a white head. Honey apple nose with a dash of vegetation.
3.4Bomber from a shop in Juneau. Yellow pour with a white head. Dandelions, rose petals, tannins from the wine barrel. Wanted to like this more.
3.0Amber, small white head. Herbal, flowery aroma. Flavor is floral, sweet, herbal. Carbonation is too low.
3.8Dark amber pour with perhaps some reddish tint. Cloudy with a quick, bubbly white foam. Rich, vinegary nose with some earthy yeast (brett) notes around the edges. Earthy, vinous flavors in the middle pick up some (rather muted) malt. The spices, green apple notes and citrus bitterness gives the flavors depth. The flavor is tart, but not as tart as the nose. Medium to light body with restrained fizz. The finish is not as dry as the nose might suggest. The pinot noir barrels give it an earthy depth that takes it to the (relatively) less dry end of the saison spectrum. The 8% ABV makes it more of a super saison and matches the complexity of the flavors. (Batch 24 December 2015)
3.9Purchased in Montpelier, Vermont. Pours a cleaner golden colour with beautiful carbonation. Gets hazier at every pour. White creamy head, very good retention and some nice lacing. Earthy funky aromas from the Bretts. The yeast shows up with time, adding some balance of sweetness. Hints of roses and cherries. The taste is surprisingly bitter. Was not excepting this for a Saison, but here it is. Some of the orange notes lingers. Some much going on, hard to get the oak barrels used in this one. The nose gets a little more bitter as the beer gets completely cloudy. Quite a unique Saison which is nice to share and sip.
3.9750 ml corked and caged bottle. Sat for awhile in a cellar. The aroma has mild perfume, mild Brett, rose pedals.
Flavor shows me a mild fruit note upfront before turning to Rose pedals and a mild funky yeast. Mild oak. As I drink it the tartness and spice hints. The beer shows a bone dry texture. Overall, pretty damn nice.
4.0Bottle, nice aromas and full body beer, with hints of wood adds more complex flavors to this extraordinary beer. light over carbonated.
4.6Love Buzz is the kind of funky beauty I’ve come to expect from Anchorage. It pours light amber - the subtle reddish tint evidently comes from the rose petals used in this brew. Floral, woodsy, vinous, and yeasty aromas. Flavor is deeply complex with bready and earthy yeast, rose, wine tannins, spices, a slight cheesiness, and zesty fruit. Moderately lively feel and quite a bit of bitterness (redolent of fruit pith) for a Saison. The musty elements will be difficult for the uninitiated, but if you believe that rot can be gorgeous, this will exceed your expectations.
4.1Corked bottle. Heavy fruit aroma - peach and strawberry. Opaque amber appearance, mild carbonation. Can definitely taste the pinot initially, though also has heavy cheesy funk. Alcoholic finish. Definitely a sipper...but very unique.
3.8bomber, Wally’s @ $12.99. Pours a hazy, soft gold with a medium coarse white head. Dusty aromas of white pepper, coriander, hint of Brett, coconut. Flavor has peppery saison yeast, mild tang of mandarin orange, and a background woodsy vinous element. Body is medium, fuller than most Saisons, probably due to Alcohol and barrel aging. A complex and tasty drink, though I’m less convinced that the final product is greater than the individual parts that went into this.
4.3Corked bottle from Kenny Road Market: hazy amber, white-ish head. aroma of musty, straw, floral, tart, lemon - very nice. tastes are orange, lemon, bretty, barnyard, yeasty, light spice, grapefruit acidic juicy, only light wood. thin juicy palate. kinda perfect.
4.0Bottle shared with Gus. Aroma is pinot noir, clove, spices, tart, really nice. Appearance is reddish golden, hazy, off white head. Taste is pinot noir, tart, dry, barnyard, spices, good. Mouthfeel is medium body, light crisp carbonation, pinot noir aftertaste. Overall, I’m enjoying this very much.
4.5Bottle from Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City, CA ($18 take-away). Pours a picturesque light golden amber. Aroma is mild funk, light orange blossoms, fermented orange peels, citra hops. Palate is creamy smooth yet crisp. Taste is a complex stew of bright orange, rotten orange, floral orange, medicinal / vitamins, spicy pepper, hops... so much going on that this shouldn’t be good but it works. A rotten potpourri of a beer that is quite glorious.
3.9750ml bottle. Clear orange with a foamy white head. Flavors are biscuity cereals, caramel, citrus, melon, oak, funk and pepper with vinous, floral and medicinal notes. Medium body, moderate to good carbonation, oily texture.
4.2Finally bucked up to buy this bottle. Pours a hazy golden orangish glow, with a fluffy white head. Aroma of chardonnay, orange zest, barnyard funk and light malts. Taste is orange marmalade, funky brett yeast, mouth puckering grapefruit. Dry finish. Zero detection of alcohol. Damn fine beer. Would recommend to others for sure.
3.9Bottled. Pours hazy golden with an average white head. Aroma of hoppy citrus notes, funk, yeast, vanilla, wood, grapes and spices. Slightly sweet flavor that ends up being dry and slightly bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and average to lively carbonation. An excellent Saison.🌟🌟🌟🌟
3.9Bottle (Dec 2015 date). Pours golden with an off-white fluffy head. Minimal bubbles stick to the glass as I drink it. Smells of berries, oak, spices, sweet malts, some alcohol. Medium sweet with a light bitterness underneath. Tastes of soft Brett, spices, sweet malts, some fruit. Medium+ bodied. Flavors last well into the finish.
3.9(Bottle) Cloudy orange body with a large, dissipating eggshell head. Wonderful aroma of wheat, red wine, fruit, yeast, spice, some wood, and a hint of brett sourness. Medium body, full carbonation, sticky mouthfeel. Flavor of red wine, brettanomyces, grapes, rose, pepper, medium hops. The combination of elements combine surprisingly well in the aroma but not as successfully in the flavor.
4.0Funky oaky aroma. Pours cloudy orange with a white head. Nice flavor with a sour finish.
4.2Cellar aged bomber. Very nice funk and saison balance with a slightly sour finish and very smooth!
3.9Bottle: Cloudy orange with a small head and no lace. Very funky aroma and palate. Sour for a saison, more of a lactic than brett profile.
Over ripe orange or mandarine rind with spice. Good length and mouthfeel.
Very refreshing
4.1750 ml bottle into tulip glass; Batch #4, bottled in 12/2015. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, apricot, pineapple, melon, red wine, hay, straw, leather, musty funk, herbal, floral, toasted oak, bread, light caramel/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, spices, wine barrel, and light-moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, apricot, pineapple, melon, red wine, hay, straw, leather, musty funk, herbal, floral, toasted oak, bread, light caramel/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Large amount of peppery yeast/tannic oak spiciness and moderate tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, peppercorn, apricot, pineapple, melon, red wine, hay, straw, leather, musty funk, herbal, floral, toasted oak, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, spices, wine barrel, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Good dryness from tart/spiciness as well. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, acidic/tannic/sticky, and lightly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Brett saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, spices, wine barrel, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
3.9Une saison à 8%? Why not, essayons ça!
4.0750ml corked and caged bottle. Hazy, Cloudy yellow pour, with a big white head. Aroma is is spicy, herbal, light rose water, some malted wheat, light funk, light tropical fruit and some fresh cut grass. Nice mouth feel, normal carb. Finish is woody, light vinous notes, earthy and slightly funky. Some light lactic funk, soft oak, and more light fruit and tartness with some good herbal, hoppy, slightly peppery end.
4.1Sample at the "Post Beer Week Bottle Share" on 06/06/16. The beer is a hazy golden color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of funky yeast, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of vinous oak, brett yeast, citrus and malt. The finish is funky and fruity with a bretty aftertaste. Good beer all around.
