AND UNION Thursday

AND UNION Thursday

Can: Unfiltered.
Previously known as Brewers & Union Unfiltered Dark Lager. Dark and malty, the appearance doesn’t prepare you for a crispness of taste. Lighter than it looks, it is very drinkable and beautifully smooth.

Note: Formerly AND UNION Neu Blk / Neu Black Lager.

3.6 Pours a black colour. Aroma and taste is quite hoppy. Nice lager malt in the background. Avery nice beer which I will revisit
Kis hidegkomlozottsag is befigyelt.
3.7 Very well made dark lager. Clean crisp and crushable. Great classically yes stands up to modern palate. Craft beer days hamburg

3.0 Canned, 330ml from Waitrose in Banbury, Oxon. Dark brown with beige head. Toasted malts from the off, light bittering, baked bread, roasted rye and hazelnut flavours. There is a dry caramel hint, a touch thin maybe but it's okay.
3.9 Can from Waitrose, Kings Cross N1C on 26th June 2020. Pours deep sepia with pale tan foam and scant lacing. Somewhat cheesy yeasts in aroma. Roasty malts and hints of chocolate in-mouth, and a roasty finish with soft fruits, nuts and spices. Smooth texture and plenty of body.
2.5 Smell of roasted malt, some molasses. Bronze colour, small beige head. Aroma of malt, some roasted malt. Metallic finish. Medium bitter, could be more bitter. Lively carbon.
3.4 Crisp and clear on the front end, then suddenly sharpens once it reaches the back of the mouth. Caramelish on the front end; chocolatey/burnt-toast flavour on the back. The different tastes don't seem to merge together as well as they could. Nice beer overall though.
2.9 Can from Beerwulf. Aroma is toasted malt with notes of dark bread and caramel. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and lightly bitter. Body is medium. A bit boring but not bad really, very toasty.
3.4 Cremig, malzig mit einer leicht süßen, brotigen Note. Insgesamt sehr rund, aber auch sehr dezent Richtung Helles.
3.5 dunkles braun, mittelmäßig stark karbonisiert. Nase Schokolade, etwas Schwarzbrot, Honig, Pflaume. Geschmacklich süffig-malzig, gelungen.
3.4 Can from Waitrose, drunk at home. Dark brown, translucent with an uneven off-white head. Light chocolate malts in the aroma, with some peanut and cola. Sweet taste with dark malts and a slightly bitter/astringent a finish. Soft carbonation. Quite nice actually.
3.2 Can from Waitrose. Dark but not black pour. Some caramel sweetness, light roasted malt. Pleasant beer.
3.3 Pours a brownish-golden with white head. Light toasted aroma and taste, mild sweetness. Notes: can from Edeka, Jul ‘19
3.6 A: Dark mahogany with a medium off-white head. N: Burnt toast, plums. T: Bitter roast and plums again. P: Medium-thin O: Very tasty!
3.3 330ml can: BB 13th Aug 19. Drank at home on 6th June 19. One of the best dark lagers I have come across. Dark brown body, beige top. Toffee and caramel notes in the nose, the taste also has some toffee and caramel sweetness with only a light bitterness in the finish.
3.2 330ml can. Pours a dark amber, small off-white head. Caramel nose. Taste is medium bodied, prominent caramel malts, earthy rye, soft toast. Expected a schwarzbier but this can safely be slotted into the easy-drinking dunkel category.
3.2 33 cl can (BBD 2019-07-09), bought from Waitrose, drunk at home 2019-03-10. Appearance is a slightly hazy amber brown with little visible carbonation. Medium thickness densely formed cream head. Not a huge amount on the nose. Some toasted malt with hints of fruit and woodiness. Taste is malty with a hint of caramely sweetness. Some toasted notes again, but not particularly complex. Palate is medium-bodied and surprisingly creamy. Medium length silky finish. Overall, not bad - very drinkable. Enough maltiness and toastiness to give it some depth. Palate is the standout.
2.2 Has that strong generic craft beer smell. Looks dark and cloudy and doesn’t taste particularly nice. Claims to be a lager but must be a kind of hipster lager I’m not privy too.
4.0 Tinny from waitrose. Bubbly thick head that disperses after a minute or so, off black dark colouration that rises a little when swirled. Smells and tastes malty and toasty but with some of the after taste of a lager very nice.
2.2 Bottle. Murky brown, offwhite lowish head. Sour roast, grass, minerals, light body, dough, a hint roast, anonymous papery finish.
1.8 Bottle. Hazy brown color with small grey head. Aroma is tart fruits, chocolate malts, earthy. Taste is the same, quite sticky sweet and tart at the same time. Ropey mouthfeel. Something went wrong here.
3.4 Can at the crafty bottle. Lincoln. Off black colour with a white head. Slight roasted malty and sweet corn aroma. Roasted bitter to sweet fruity taste. Medium body
2.5 Can from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Dark copper-brown with a very thin head. There's a few dark malts here, but not a lot, it is its gentle sweetness which is its overriding feature. There's nothing too 'lager' at all here. Has a hint of toasted about it.
3.4 Can picked up from Waitrose, online, consumed Saturday 22nd December 2018 whilst cooking Chicken braised with red wine, garlic and fresh figs, now listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on 6 Music. This pours dark brown with an off white head. Soft mouthfeel, I get the roastiness and toastiness, light and easy drinking and dark fruits. Good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4
2.3 33cl blikje via Beerwulf.com Alcoholpercentage van 5% Uitgeschonken in Jopen glas Uiterlijk: zwart met goede volle cremelaag Aroma en smaak: neus is citrus, gebrande mouten, smaak ook gebrande mouten, metaal Conclusie: beetje vreemde smaak
3.6 Pours an enticing dark brown with a strong 2 finger caramel head. Powerful aromas of citrus, malts and burnt. Slightly metallic taste with a hint of citrus. Lingering biscuit palette. Not bad.
3.2 Can 330 ml from Beerwulf. Pours a murky dark brown body with a white head. Earthy taste with malts and citrus. Decent.
0.5 Got this beer for free, can from beerwulf, good job too, truly awful beer, well before BBE tastes musty, metallic and leaves a horrible aftertaste, bad batch or bad beer?
