Andechser Spezial Hell

Andechser Spezial Hell

Andechser Spezial Hell, the popular festival beer from the Andechser Bräustüberl, shines a bright luminous gold. Its clear gleaming look and firm, fine pored head goes hand in hand with its fresh and pure aroma. Malty nuances are the first impressions. Spezial Hell is pleasantly tangy with a full, round malt body that cannot fail to fascinate. The soft flavour carries a distinctive balance of sweet accents and bitter hoppiness. It concludes on equally soft malty nuances – a classical festival beer in the tradition of old Bavarian brewing (13.5% original extract and 5.9% alcohol by volume).

3.1 500ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Weak, pale malty and minimally grassy, hoppy aroma, hints of corn. Taste is slightly spicy, pale malty, slightly bitter, grassy hoppy, minimally fruity, hints of corn, a touch of green apple. Watery texture, smooth and minimally dry palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Well hopped, very clean - OK.
3.6 18Dec2020 Sweet grain and cereal malts, caramel, molasses, honey, bread. Clear gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light sweet. Sweet grain malts, straw, hay, molasses, caramel, med carb, med bodied. Very nice for the style, sweet and malty. Bottle from The House of the Trembling Madness.
4.5 Nice helles, tasty, refreshing, really impressive. One of the best I have tried. Beautiful color, medium body, clear malt notes, a nice sweetness balanced by a fine bitterness, long aftertaste. Excellent!
3.3 Meget lys, med meget lidt skum. God og frisk humleduft. Meget let og fyldig med frisk bitterhed.
3.4 Old rating - 500ml bottle, pours clear golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of lemon, cereal, biscuit, grass, spice & hops. Medium body. Light bitter finish
3.6 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear yellow-gold, lightly effervescent, with a small, creamy white head. Moderately sweet with lovely fresh biscuits, cereal, subtle bitter straw, nips of sun-kissed honey. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Nicely rounded finish, more biscuity pale malts, white bread, fresh cereal. Tasty beer. Majorly drinkable.
3.0 Optisch Gold, feine Perlen. In der Nase Getreide, im Trunk ebenso, erst süß, dann leicht bitte, Anfangs etwas wässrig, mittig besser. Okay.
3.7 Bottle directly from the brewery. Clear gold with a moderate head. Has that rounded German Helles earthy lager aroma. Nice hint of sweetness, clean, spicy hops on the finish, full flavor and great mouthfeel. Excellent export Helles.

4.0 Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of malts, grains, hay, grass, straw, white bread and hints of honey. Taste is fresh with more of the notes from the aroma with some light peppery spice on the finish.Medium to full body, smooth buttery mouthfeel. Excellent lager one of my favourites for sure.
4.0 De Labirratorium. En copa hefe de Bavaria. Leyendo C9 Ch7.
3.2 15.8.2020: From tap at The Thirsty Heart, Graz. Clear golden with a white head. The aroma is lightly to medium malty with sweet pale malt, cereals, sweet grains, some honey and biscuit. Medium body with a light to medium sweetness and a light bitterness. The flavor is similar to the smell - sweet malt, honey, biscuit, cereals, sweet grains, hints of cardboard, light earthy hop presence. Finishes with a light residual malt sweetness, sweetish grains and a light hoppy bitterness. Well balanced. Aroma: 6 Appearance: 3 Taste: 7 Palate: 4 Overall: 12
3.2 14.08.2020 AR: malzig, etwas langweilig AP: opales goldgelb TA: malzig, süffig
2.9 500ml Bottles from Oswald Getrankefachhandel, Mettlach, Germany and Suhl's Harzspezialitaten, Wernigerode, Germany (2008). Golden coloured with a very thin white head of foam. It has a rich lemon, fruity, toffee and grassy flavour with malt and warming biscuit on the smooth finish. Not bad.
1.3 Copper coloured and crystal clear, the head dissipated quickly. Faint musty noble hop aroma. Slight honey-like sweetness. Has that weird, thin almost apple feel that you get when hop extract is in the recipe. Light carbonation. Rather light on flavour given the heavy gravity. Not really my cup of tea.
